That black chrome paint job is just insane and in a straight line (which is quite a big part of road riding) will smoke absolutely anything out there. If you only want to go for looks, then take the Panigale. The BMW is probably the best all-round bike here. As for the R1, it is probably the best track bike, but the problem is it is under-powered.
R1 underpowered? LOL. Makes 200hp. The Ducati makes 205 (claimed, dynos show less), the BMW makes 199hp, and the H2 only makes 200hp, but weighs 100 lbs more. So this power these guys claim to feel is all in their heads, because the H2 is not more powerful. It may have more mid range pull, but upper end drops off fast. You'd find the S1000RR and R1 can easily keep pace with the H2 in a straight line, if not outright beating it. So no, the R1 is not even slightly underpowered.

These days comparing sport-bikes in each class usually results in splitting hairs, and you can't really say one is better than the other. It just comes down to individual preference; some people just like the looks better, or the power curve better, or the ride quality better etc. You won't go wrong with any of them cos they are all superb. We are indeed spoiled in this day-and-age; I remember when a 70 hp motorcycle was a superbike and the handling was scary past 100 mph. But really the horsepower is getting over the top; 200+ hp is just plain scary on two wheels even with electronics.
It's been like that since 95-96 (I think.) whenever everyone else hopped on the ram air system. Before that, it was Kawasaki all the way. Their 750cc competing with Honda and ducatis 1000cc bikes. And completely dominating. Without a doubt back then it was all about Kawasaki but when Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, and everyone else started catching on it became a lot closer which I feel drove the motorcycle industry forward and advanced it with some competition. But honestly ever since the beginning of time it's been about the rider not the bike.

Thing is that these modern superbikes are way beyond the average riders' abilities, and just plain suicidal for people with more money than brains. I lost 5 pts on my Triumph 675 STR last summer just rolling on the throttle in top gear passing a line of cars. I have read posts on forums where lots of guys have traded down to middleweights from these 1000 cc track bikes as they are not that enjoyable on the street because you can't use their full capabilities without killing yourself or talking to a judge in court.
I keep hearing the 2015 BMW is right up there with the R1, but i guess these guys didn't think so... I'd love to see the same people/bikes tested on the street as well.

If I wanted the fastest and most comfort I would buy the S1000RR, if I wanted to have the best track lap time I would buy the R1, if I wanted to have a drag racing spaceship I would get the H2. What I did get is the 1299S because it's the one that makes me smile when I see it and ride it; also boils my thighs but that's ok. I did exactly the same and I smile from ear to ear every ride 😊. It's just special, end of. It's an absolute pig to ride in traffic but I can forgive that because it just sounds awsome, turns heads and given a clear road with some twistes, makes you feel like Marc Marquez, and yet I'm far from that 😂
tested the 1299 Panigale on last sunday in Franciacorta circuit Italy was really incredible how 205CV can be so smooth and strong in the same time was too easy to drive really a big jump a head.
Elliot Jackson you just answered your own question lol They used the S and the R1 instead of the R and the R1M I recon the BMW is the best all rounder now Heated grips, cruise control, HP4 electronic suspension (close enough), quick shifter up and down and it actually works this time around, no need for weighted bar ends to get rid of that nasty vibration the only thing is the price Oh and a 2015 s1000rr with pipe and tune can beat a stock H2 in a straight line and rape it on the track haha Exhaust and reflash the H2 however... lol

Ducati is going in right direction with the design. but now it is going to suffer the drawbacks of that L-twin engine. They cannot increase the displacement every time with the new bike. Hope to see a v4 or L-4 in future ducati superbikes.

Sean Tolbert its not true BMW is fast on stright Li e and the Power i owned a s1000RR 6 Months a couple of times on Track sorry but the BMW on Track is not eaven close to a rsv4 RF or a Yamaha r1 the Panigsle R need a Driver with good skils because the Panigale R is more extreme Race focused Bike and its not that you jump on and bee fast immediatelly.But a Professional Rider can pull everything out of this Bike.But again i owned a 2012 S1000RR its easy to ride eaven on Track but not impressed me like a R1 or a rsv4.After Bearing Shell issuise on the Motor on the BMW i sell the Bike after the Bine was fixed🙁
Forget the bike reviews, the renewal quote and service I was offered by Bennetts this year was appalling and an absolute disgrace. I was offered better cover at less than half the price, so I’ve moved on. The rep on the phone was not interested at all. So after being on two wheels for over 45 years, my tip for fellow bikers is don’t use Bennetts!

KTM do not make the rc8 for the streets, They have a problem with a bike qiwh 200 hp on the road. KTM will lost a lot of money. With no 1000cc road bike.
Ducati is not even 1000cc.. It's a cheater bike because Ducati can't make more power from 1000cc.. unlike other manufacturers... It's not even reliable and it would break down in less than a year... Ducati is not even 1000cc.. It's a cheater bike because Ducati can't make more power from 1000cc.. unlike other manufacturers... It's not even reliable and it would break down in less than a year... It shouldn't even be allowed to WSBK anymore because the engine is too big.. not sure why they still allow it. Probably they are paying or sucking off other people's penis and balls.
