Such a great airplane and I'm very happy to see it still flying. These planes as well as all of the other tri-jets and classic planes are to me still the best out there and still have loads of potential

Your fantastic video reminds me of good old days onboard IranAir 727-200s (EP-IRS,IRP,IRR) when I would love to get a seat near the engine and enjoy its pure sound for the whole flight!! No plane has ever had such a beauty. specially the wing design and the control surfaces. I have learned aerodynamics practically by watching control surfaces on these planes' gentle wings.

I always got a window seat when flying in a 727 and all the different "feathers" and feathers on feathers fascinated me. The 727 was incredibly advanced when it came out, and was always incredibly. And, breaking the physical law about complexity vs reliability, everything worked through thousands and thousands of hours of flying. I was as much in awe with the engineers who designed it.

Lovely to see a 727. I remember flying to/from Palma de Mallorca on Iberia 727-200s and Dan Air 727-100s during the 80s and even into the 90s.

That wing looked alive with gentle movements now and again. I remember these old birds in Ansett and TAA service in the 1970's. Flown on a few of these in my time as a youngster! Amazed to see these ones still flying!

The 727 always had that distinctive mellow hum and smooth rotation. The md80’s similar in sound. The 3 holer is pure royalty.

WHEN I WAS 13 I WOULD RECOGNISE THE AIRPLANE FROM THE SOUND OF IT'S ENGINE....B707, B727 & B747...THE B747 ALWAYS HAD THE CALMEST SOUND THO IT IS BIGGER, OPPOSITE TO THAT WAS THE 727 HAS HIGH EXPLOSIVELY SOUND!!! B707 HAS A VERY DISTINGUISHABLE SOUND.

Anyone else see the face someone drew on the wing? Take a look that the red bracket with two holes in it resting perpendicular to the wing. Now look just ahead of it towards the camera.

If you were seated where Sam was the takeoff noise is much quieter than a Boeing 737. At cruising altitude the wind noise evens things out of course.

Watch closely what happens between 7:30 and 7:31? Watch...it happens really fast! Maybe 1/10 of a second to a 1/100 of a second. Maybe it's something already in the air the plane passes by or maybe it's coming from the plane. You know these people don't maintain these planes like they should. Legally they can't even get parts from the US. In my book the Boeing 727 is the best plane out there, but even it needs some TLC after 40 to 50 years of flying.

TWO SEAS MEET BUT DO NOT MIX
    How Jacques Cousteau accepted Islam
    Updated 07 October 2013
In France, Islam is very quickly spreading among those people, who have become famous in the most different fields of knowledge and activity. Today, the number of people, who left Christianity and accepted Islam has already reached over a hundred thousand. Archbishop Parisian, the supreme ecclesiastic of the French Catholic church, officially confirms these figures. Among those, who preferred Islam, not only are natives of working class and civil servants, but are are there some outstanding people too.
Great French scientist, oceanographer, initiator of researches of sea and ocean depths, inventor of an aqualung, underwater house, the device for “diving saucer,” author of many popular books and films, Jacque IV Cousteau is known all through the world. But very few people know, that scientific researches carried out by him and facts of reflection in the Qur’an of many scientific signs have led him to accept Islam; and that he died as a Muslim.
Well-known to the whole world, the researcher of underwater environment had finally declared that choice of embracing Islam was most correct decision in his life. In a TV series, “Alive Sea,” Capt. Cousteau uncovers surprising underwater world of the seas, rivers and oceans before people.
Investigating water open spaces in strait of Gibraltar, he found out but surprising facts not explained by science: Existence of two water layers, not mixing up with each other. They as if are divided by a film and have among themselves precise border. Each of them has temperature, salt structure, animal and flora. These are waters of Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean adjoining with each other in Strait of Gibraltar.
“In 1962,” tells Jacque Cousteau, “German scientists found out that in Bab Al-Mandeb, where waters of Gulf of Aden and Red sea converge, waters of Red sea and Indian ocean do not mix up. Following example of colleagues, we began to find out, whether waters of Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea mix up. First, we investigated water of Mediterranean Sea, its natural level of salinity, density and forms of life inherent in it. We made the same in Atlantic Ocean.”
These two weights of water meet in Strait of Gibraltar already for a thousand years, and it would be logical to assume that these two huge water weights for a long time should get mixed up, their salinity and density should become identical, or, at least, similar. But even in places, where they converge closely, each of them keeps its properties. In other words, in places of merger of two weights of water, water curtain does not allow them to mix up.” At detection of this obvious and improbable fact, the scientist was extremely surprised.
“I long rested on laurels at this surprising phenomenon which is not explained by laws of physics and chemistry,” writes Cousteau.
But he tested even greater surprise and admiration, when he found out that this is already written in Qur’an for more than 1400 years back. He learned about it from the French doctor Maurice Bucaille, who had earlier accepted Islam. “When I told to him about my discovery, he told me that this has already been told 1400 years back in Qur’an.”
It was for me as thundering during clear sky. And it really so appeared when I looked at translations of Qur’an.
Then I exclaimed: “I swear, that this Qur’an, which 1400 years ago lagged behind modern science, cannot be the speech of a person. It is true speech of Almighty.” After that I accepted Islam and each day I was amazed by truth, justice, ease, utility of this religion. “I am indefinitely grateful that He opened my eyes for Truth,” writes Cousteau.
