There is a shot of longlegs in his home/studio where he is on his bed, motionless and the camera flips to what must be his POV, which is pointed back towards the other end of the room -- his work area. Near the left side of the screen, an amorphous black mist moves across a chair or something. I wish I had bought the movie and not just rented it so I could give you a timestamp but something is definitely there.

I really like the one at 4:36. At first you assume none of them can see The Devil and that it only appears on the reflection, but a moment later it turns out that father and mother are already fully controlled by The Devil. Harker (protagonist) is the only one facing into the house, the father and mother are indeed seeing The Devil right in front of them but they are already his puppets.
It’s also extra interesting because the whole purpose of the dolls is to bring the evil inside the houses for him. He cannot enter the houses himself and that’s why he’s standing at the front door, and doesn’t follow them inside.
How did you not see him in the door when they slammed it at the end of the movie? He’s standing there with his big ass horns for like three whole seconds.
When I watched the movie I thought everyone saw the devil every time he popped up but I got home and no one was talking about it right away thanks for making me not feel crazy

I just imagine a neighbor looking over at the porch while the devil is standing there and just being like you know what I'm just going to go inside I'm going to go to bed and we didn't see shit. Lol
It's the opposite of that, very intentionally. It's part Silence of the Lambs, Seven, and Zodiac per the director. If you haven't seen those, check them out, they are all 3 the same vibe, but dozens of times better written and executed. I liked Longlegs, but it stops short of being truly great like those three.
I can't really believe the FBI, knowing Lee's connection to the killer, knowing he'd been to their home and him telling her "ask your mother" when asking about an accomplice, didn't result in a squad of police AT LEAST accompanying Lee to her family home. But hey, who said cops were smart. It definitely ends leaving you wanting more tho and I thoroughly enjoyed the panic I felt during the final act as well as the overall atmosphere/build-up. One influence that wasn't mentioned here but definitely is inspired by Seven, and I hate to love when horror ends, horrifically.
The blackcoats daughter is my favorite movie of all time and longlegs reminded me a lot of blackcoats daughter I loved how the demon in blackcoats daughter and longlegs look almost identical, I feel like they could fit in the same universe

I've been a horror fan for 40 years, and I've watched so much over the years that pretty much most films don't scare me or get my attention anymore. Longlegs is that exception, best horror film I've seen in 10 years or more. What made the film great was the way Oz Perkins made you looking at something, the distant tree line, etc. If you recall when Harker visits the house, finds the doll, the nails in the wood that were white, they were all shaped like crosses. It's that subtlety, hiding images etc. along with the complete breakdown mentally of characters, Alicia Witt was phenomenal as Ruth, Cage was just completely out there. Someone should get a nomination for an Academy Award for this film.

The image has been Photoshop'd so it looks yellow and red, but it's Belloch. Strange.
Love how the film's framing is designed to make you uneasy by leaving lots of empty space to imagine things hiding in. Makes it even better when there actually are things hiding in them. Placing the devil outside doors with elaborately designed windows that his horns blend into is another great way to hide him in shots.
Cage made the movien even better for me - love his range and his insane performance. Made the movie even more creepier. You cannot predict what he does - and even if it feels over the top, it always fits so well and makes the character appearances so.. Unsettling.

I think there is one cool Easter egg toward the end of the movie. At the end of the movie, when Harker is looking for her mom in the house, The Price is Right theme some is playing throughout the scene. This song is usually played for the next contestant to “Come on down” in the show. Harker then finds her mother aiming a gun at a doll. The song playing symbolizes, the devil calling Harker down for his next move. It is kinda dragging her into his control.

Your hair looks so much better without gel in it... random, I know, but I was looking and thinking, hey, Paul's been look different, less greasy, what is it 😂😂😂. Now I know. 😅
My daughter noticed right away. On a side note, late night with the devil was scarier. This was good but very hyped up. The premise is the scary part, imo. Kinda like late night but the late night with the devil has MUCH larger repercussions. An archon was released into the world's TV sets vs demonic ritual killings. Scale packs a punch, imo.
Pretty much every time there’s a wide shot focusing on lee, that isn’t centred on lee, there’s something in the darkness of the background. There’s many scenes like that
First thing I thought when I saw Cage's character was "he looks like an old 80's Hair Metal guy that had too many Plastic Surgeries" and sure enough . Great character for a Horror Villain tbh

You are low-key a film reviewer in terms of judging whether a movie is good or bad. I now have to watch the movie before I dive further into this video.
I actually think that the ball inside the dolls is a reference to the Demon core from the mortal radiation experiments. It started sounding like radiation qhen the device was near it and it kind of makes sense that it could be a reference to that
I thought a saw a couple of these devils and wanted to go back and see it n totally forgot to ask my friends if they had seen any xD can’t wait for the 4k to be released
Another curiosity: in her investigation, Agent Lee discovers that the "X marks the spot". When she visits her mother, the wallpaper in her mother's room is made up of several lozenges, forming Xs.
Love how, here in America, when you said "the devil can be described as...", they cut to a commercial for a certain person....running for something... bravo, ad people!
I just watched this movie and I kept noticing a dark figure in the background with (I thought) horns and I just kept brushing it off at the beginning as me looking into shadows too much😂 but then the reveal happened. I thought it was cool how subtle most of them were
The 11th possible image most likely isn't the devil but you could say that it's an early form of the devil as it is the first time she meets Longlegs which becomes more apparent after the initially interaction
