I love when he describes himself something like "violently American." like when he admits he can't pronounce things like a native speaker of other countries.
Rah.

I follow a small number of channels that do what you do. Bring real-world biology or psychology into movies and shows. Sometimes this can, for lack of a better word 'debunk' something. But sometimes it can add so much more depth to something that could so easily be taken at face value.
Awesome video dude! I hope the next one is for the tardigrade monster from harbinger down!
**Roanoke describes how the Queen could’ve absorbed genetic material and passed on to future gens**
Me: So they’re Tyranids!
The consistency and natural improvement over 3 years is crazy man, its awesome man, keep inspiring people to get where they need to be. GA boys for life
After the Michigan dog man hunt an inquisition of the angler fish is necessary. Great video Roanoke, keep it up man :D you save many of my afternoons at work while I'm coding stuff
At first, as you introduced this flick, it reminded me of "9 Miles Down". But that movie was all hallucination.
1) yes we Brits are scared of the Appalachians, we don't know why, we suspect the lack of tea and prevalence of freedom
2) can we get pics of the mustang
I get the vibe that Roanoke doesn’t like angler fish 😂😂😂, this is my new favorite joke from this channel
It never ceases to amaze me how you occasionally weave your hatred and fear of angler fish into your videos. Truly a fine craft that isn't easily achieved.
The final option you described are basically the Chimera ants from Hunter x Hunter.
Found this channel 2 days ago and it is quickly becoming one of my favourite channels on UA-cam lol I love the deep dives of these movie and game creatures and the banter is top tier 🤣
God, I remember watching this movie with some of my buddies like over a year ago. It was something else, though it's cool seeing you give the critters in this movie a look.
I have actually been to some of the places you showed in the Appalachian montage. That was kewl.
The jokes in this video are so good, even for Roanoke's standards. Please keep this up!

I lost it, I absolutely love your videos bro.
Ya know, because you cut the scentence
There's a very interesting similar case to your most likely hypothesis in the anime Hunter X Hunter (2011) in it's final arc. The Chimera Ant arc is about a species of ant that incorporates the DNA of consumed species and the singularity event is the moment it successfully incorporated humans into the genome.
Don't know if you'd ever cover an anime monster species, but there's actually a lot of competent science injected into the material alongside the sci-fi and supernatural aspects.
There is a deep sea snailfish that uses DNA of dead fauna to repair there genome so it is very plausible.
> anime
lol, lmao even
was scrolling the comments to see if anyone else thought of the Chimera Ant arc
done scrolling now though
Dude your edits never cease to crack me up, the "hey now" followed by a pic of Steven Harwell had me rolling
So Option 3 is just the Chimera Ants from Hunter x Hunter? I'd love to see an episode on them at some point, by the way.
5:18 the Defender 90 is my fav of those back in the day.
Im sure a future civilization would notice all the space debris
That's true. Space debris and plastic. What a great legacy
I live in Brazil, i would like to keep my carreer in the automation and IT, but due to circumstances that will not be possible, i need to help my family, and due to some knowledge in mechanics, im currently working fixing mining equipment,(mostly iron and bauxite), that part that you speak about mining workers, put a smile on my face, TY roanoke
I believe your mystery vehicle was an old Jeep Wagoneer. As a kid in SW PA, we called them "woody wagons".
Love your movie analysis. Please consider covering Deep Rising and Frankensteins Army, please and thanks.
6:51 This joke is why I subbed to you. lmaoo Also shout out to the blue color workers, to which we will collapse as a society without them.
Journey to the Center of the Earth is an interesting book to revisit today for how fascinating the ideas in it are compared to what we more or less know is below the Earth's crust. Science fiction is fun, huh?
2:00 I've been wondering about that too.
Love your videos! If you're looking for a good show with lots of content you could cover, you should look at Scavengers Reign. It'd be cool to see you breakdown some of the wildlife the show comes up with.
What's it about?
Roanoke can you do a video on (The Strain) please? if you haven't seen "The Strain" i think you would enjoy it and i would love a video on the series. Its 4 seasons but definitely worth the watch. Roanoke your the man we really love your videos. Also great video bro as usual it was great!
The consistent vendetta against anglerfish has me howling.
"Humanity is so unimportant all evidence of it will be erased in 100,000 years. Except for the megatons of immutable evidence locked in a specific layer."
Bro giving us whiplash
The vehicle chasing them that came to a gradual stop, looks like a grand Cherokee, or a grand Wagoneer, which is kind of like a grand Cherokee made by Jeep..
I could be wrong, but that’s what it looks like
'Are these mountains scary to the average british person' Actually yes, yes they are. I've known a few british people and for some reason every one of them I've met seems to think that any place that isn't a major city is full of crazed gun toting lunatics that are just looking for an excuse to delete theme. This is, of course, the height of irony given crime statistics.
The drive by “if you want to know what’s really down in the dark an can’t see thats horrific. It’s an angler fish” got me
The Geologists first mistake was going to Appalachia, everyone knows that it's Wendigoon's territory.
catching up with recent Roanoke videos and cackling when the angler fish Vendetta comes back up from a previous one. Love this ❤
Please do a video on how much tech a person can replace their body with before the brain rejects it. Like the Adeptus Mechanicus 40k, robo cop, or cyberpunk.
I think that you should check out the freaks from crackdown they are quite interesting for a seemingly normal zombie.
The creatures remind me ALOT of the tunnelers from fallout new vegas, humanoid and using venom, they used to live underground until the ground was cracked by war and they went up, or some think they are mutated humans
Their considered abomination, so I think they're man made and hidden in a super deep facility before the great war
What a gem of a video. Normally I have UA-cam as background noise. With your videos I would listen only at first. Then found myself going back to rewatch because of the scene cuts. But this one deserved third re-watch. Third was specifically just for the puns that seem to be abundant in this one! English isn't my first language so your figure of speech is fascinating! Long live the borehole king!
@RoanokeGaming Just recently stumbled on your channel and I've been binge watching your content for the past few days. Love the fact that you delve into the physiology of various science fiction cryptids; half the time I become so engrossed in the biology/science lesson I completely forget the video is about a creature in a film or video game. I'd love to see you cover the delightful biology of the slugs/hive mind amalgamation from the movie "Slither." Definitely an underrated creature feature, plus Michael Rooker, Elizabeth Banks, and I think...Jason Bateman? are in it. Big fan of Michael Rooker, haha.
I actually have!
@@RoanokeGaming Yes, you did! For some reason I missed it scrolling through. I definitely watched it today and realized I was wrong about it being Jason Bateman as well. 😄 I'm really digging the content, my dude. Thank you for spreading awesome. 😎
8:51 reminds me of a saying, "growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional"
I vaguely remember watching this and thinking about your channel.
I fell asleep constantly during the movie, because it felt like the one movie you reviewed a while ago (the cave water virus one with the jerk scientists), mixed with The Descent, and being more boring than both.
Your breakdown is currently far more appealing to watch.
6:50 caught me off guard 😂🤣
If they're a combination of dna wouldn't that make them a major threat since they could absorb the dna of creatures that are a nightmare to deal with like mosquitoes and cockroaches
@@user-ye4bu6xh4c Flying smart vampire daggers does sound like a nightmare and a half.
Their probably too small, physically. The queen wouldn't probably even realize something is in here mouth to swallow it or probably just try to spit it out. They have no motivation to combine with species that are too small for sustain them nutrition wise.
Awesome video. Thanks for using the App State University stock footage. It was a nice surprise.
Your hatred of angler fish is hilarious
Hey, Roanoke. Just wanted to thank you for getting me through three years of my toxic job - I’d listen to your videos(all channels) while working and ignore the comments and bullying. Sometimes, I’d even rewatch videos because your voice, jokes and knowledge were comforting and interesting.
Thank you broski!
26:27 That moment from Gears 2 will never get old...
Do you think you could scientifically explain the Venom symbiote? Yes this is phrased as a challenge
5:18 is a Jeep Wagoneer, I'm just out here commenting on all the old trucks 😂
They appear human-like because a few extras in goofy suits are easier on the film's budget than CGI of creatures that actually make sense biologically.
As an App grad, I appreciate this video.
Id love to see you discuss the creatures from Dark Pictures: House of Ashes
6:49 @roanoke im absolutely deceased xD
