So why won’t Glue Pulling Work to take out this dent in the hood of this new car? There can be a few reasons why paintless dent repair glue pulling is not the best option for pulling out a small dent and why using paintless dent removal to push out the dent will be the best dent repair.
The first reason that pulling out dents with glue won’t work on this car and any other vehicle that has this option is because it had a clear bra on the hood.
It is often a great option to have a clear plastic film on your car to protect it from rock chips and debris but if there is a dent under this area of your car, then you won’t be able to use PDR Glue Pulling.
If you were to try to pull dents with glue on this film, you would end up pulling off the plastic film and damaging it.
The other reason you may not be able to use glue pulling dent removal is because of the material the panel is made of. Aluminum PDR with Glue is much more difficult to repair a dent with glue. The aluminum material does not react the same as a steel panel and pulling out the dent may not work.

The third reason why you won’t want to use glue pulling pdr is if there is already damage to the paint. Tring to pull out a dent that already had paint damage will result in pulling off more paint from the car. Then it will cost you more to have the car painted at a body shop.
You will also want to be careful when pulling dents on a car that has been repainted. There is more risk of pulling off the paint when not done right.

+1st Track Dents Thanks!! This was a repeat customer, so he’s been happy with my work. But he was worried it would not be possible because he had the clear bra on the car.
What you didn’t show us in the video is you also need to constantly warm that area with a heat gun on the spot where you are going to push that tiny dent upward from the inside, unless that bonnet is made entirely of plastic

I would like to buy my own set of PDR tools, What do you recommend. I have some hail damage on my door panels of F150 2017
Depending on the damage you may want a few different PDR tools. The aluminum on the Ford Trucks can be difficult to repair without the right tool for the damage.
A couple of companies I recommend for PDR tools are A1 Tool and Dent Craft Tools. They both have some good sets for pushing out the damage along with the needed accessories.
You can also find some of the tools I recommend that are listed on Amazon. These include some glue pulling tools, along with PDR tools and accessories.

+chris hubbard Hey, thanks for watching. The clear bra a a plastic film and can still be visible. They are usually around 12-18 inches front the front edge of the hood.
A ceramic coating is applied to the whole vehicle, similar to a wax coating but much better durability and longer lasting.
A ceramic coating though can also make it difficult to use glue pulling to remove dents.

A ceramic coating is not visible. The customer would know if they have had one applied to their car because it is more than just a wax.
Otherwise if glue pulling was tried it usually won’t stick if there is one on the car. Then it would have to be removed by either sanding and/or buffing to remove it first.
