    I truly love you channel, I lost my daughter my only child a year and a half ago. She blessed me with two grand daughters. I want them to know how to take care of their families. The spring is hard for me because my daughter loved it. Thank you, you have truly helped me get through the hardest time of my life

    I love your channel! I made your recipe for fresh milled wheat and it is my absolute favorite! I have tried MANY recipes and honestly, I always end up with dry and almost crumbly bread. But not with your recipe! It is my and my husband’s favorite bread. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes. Looking forward to trying this one.

    I’m so glad you talked about the tortillas contracting when using the regular press, I had wondered if the electric one solved that problem! Since my press is cast iron I might try putting it on the stove 😂

      Yes! You can absolutely put your cast iron press on the stove. Just keep your oven mits on! Here’s a video for cast iron press

    I made these today, used a tortilla press for the first time. Indeed, made tortillas for first time. I did ok. I thought the taste was a little bland. And my tortillas are a little crispy around the edges, not all but some. Might add a few grams more salt and turn the heat down a notch from medium next time. Now I just remembered we’re having dinner out tonight! Hope these keep well.

    • @Lovelybellbakes
      @Lovelybellbakes  8 місяців тому +3

      Hi Pam! Certainly add more salt to your liking. How long did they take to cook? If your heat is right, it should take about 30 seconds on each side. If it takes longer than that it will make the tortillas stiff or crispy. Also, a game changer is transferring them into a “tortilla warmer” right after cooking. I use a large bowl lined with a light cloth. This keeps them warm and traps in the moisture.

    I would have never thought to use hard white but when I think about it some more it makes sense, can't wait to try your recipe!

    • @Lovelybellbakes
      @Lovelybellbakes  9 місяців тому +1

      The hard white is a hands down winner in my book 🙌🏿. Soft white didn’t work well for burritos because the tortillas broke so easily. Hard red is a close second but they’re a bit more dry. Which could probably be fixed with just adding more water in the dough. But, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

    I made this recipe tonight and they were delicious! I do think adding a bit more salt might suit our taste better. Also, I missed the 50 grams tip on the video and used 65 grams and they were a little too thick and didn’t puff up like the video showed, but well worth the effort. Thanks so much! PS…your printable recipe doesn’t have the baking powder on it. ❤

      Hi! Thank you for your feedback! I did intentionally remove the baking powder because I notice no difference with the baking powder. I’ve stopped using it so I updated the recipe. Just so no one gets confused, I may list it as optional. Again, thank you for your feedback. Have a blessed day!
