It’s nice to have something alert you to an intruder so you have time to get to your guns. The average home invasion takes place in seven seconds from the time the door is breached to the time they are shooting your family! How long does it take you to wake up in a deep sleep!?

I have a Nest Hello doorbell, purchased 2-1/2 years ago and installed myself. My mechanical indoor chime recently stopped working. I assumed it was the chime connector that came with Nest and mounts inside the chime box. I called Google and they sent me a new connector free of charge. Still didn't work so I assumed it must be the transformer. Did some research and learned other people had the same problem and corrected the issue by purchasing a 24v transformer. I should have tested my 16v transformer first with a multimeter but I went ahead and upgraded to a 24v transformer. Nope, chime still not working. So.... I think to myself it has to be the mechanical chime. I did some research and found there was only one mechanical chime I could find on Amazon that claimed to be compatible with a 24v transformer. I bought it for $15 and replaced the old chime. Still not working! Guess what? I finally discovered I had the indoor chime turned off in the Nest app on my phone! I felt like an idiot! I guess I have a backup chime and transformer now! Maybe this comment will help someone learn from my own mistake.

Most useful tool is a multimeter. Most smart door bells require 18-24v so it comes in handy at every job otherwise the customer will be calling you back. Always carry extra transformers (hard wired or plug in) and be prepared to go into spider infested basements or dusty attics to locate the transformer. All in all easy money but I’m constantly going out to customers home to re do a job a random electrician or DIYselfer attempted. The fun installs are front a rear door bells to a chime. FYI that’s a fair price for a install. We charge $99 and $50 extra for a transformer replacement and chime replacement. 👍🏽

I put in a ton of the ring doorbells and floodlight cameras, so many that ring might be looking for a cut of the install profits😂 I really like the ring stuff- can see live video without paying the cloud fee... only have to pay the fee if you want to be able to look at past videos. The motion sensors are light years ahead of any regular flood light motion setup. I recommend staying away from the ring doorbells that have a battery- even if hardwired to a transformer it only charges the battery so eventually ud be replacing the battery- stick with the ring pro hardwired doorbell- no battery to fuss with

I would of had a microfiber cloth and dusted out the light as you said all I am here for is to change a light bulb. 10 seconds to do a dusting inside/outside the glass and it would of been a job done right , you chose to skimp on 10 seconds. Even if the glass needed window cleaner, it would of been 1 minute to grab it from the truck and do it right. You chose to skimp. You can even charge them for the extra 3 minutes it would of taken, but you chose to skimp. What will that light look like in another 2 years, because you chose to skimp?

I'm a new viewer and it was a good, informative video but I'm confused on the title. Is he saying he charged $1,200 for this job or is he saying that if you did like ten of these that you could make $1,200 a day? Or is he just making fun of clickbait? Its not really addressed in the video.

If you read the title again. It says PER DAY NOT per doorbell.

I started with the G4 Doorbell from Ubiquiti, it connects wirelessly to your Ubiquiti home network. In my case I bought into the whole system and installed cameras and access points. The router/nvr/switch stored all the footage on a local hard drive and I don't have to pay cloud fees. Ubiquiti - Simplifying IT

Replaced our bell with a wireless one, but our wired bell had three wires. Clipped them and the bell went off. Fun party trick to show the kids. I still don’t know why it had three wires, though.

I have a Ring door bell, but I prefer Nest, because it records 24/7 and that’s what you want. The Ring WILL MISS what you want to see. Anyways. I had to recharge the Ring very often. So what I end up doing was buying a plug-in transformer from Amazon, just search Plug in transformers for Ring or Nest. Connect the transformer to the Ring Drill a hole through the garage wall and plug it in.

How many days of video can the included 4GB eMMC built-in storage save in the most common usage scenarios?
The doorbell has a 4GB eMMC built-in storage, which can store up to 30 days of video, assuming you’re recording 30 videos a day and 30 seconds of each video. This is more than enough in most cases. Actual duration varies depending on the recording frequency and video length.

I install home security systems daily and a doorbell camera on just about every install. They aren’t that hard and I sure as hell don’t make 1200 a day unless I upsell a lot of additional protection for the house. Doorbell cameras are stupid easy to install and it’s kinda crazy how scared homeowners are to install them themselves. It takes 15 min max and couldn’t be easier. I install sky bell and ring all the time and as long as the doorbell rings inside when you touch wires together they just about always work without changing wiring. And most modern doorbells have a setting to change from analog to digital for if it just ding dongs inside or plays an actual chime. I’ve been doing them nearly 8 years. But I absolutely agree doorbell cameras are a must have and if you don’t have one you need to invest in one immediately. Ring is probably one of the easiest and most user friendly doorbells on the market and work well with just about any wiring in house. I have one on my house and would never use a different brand because it works so well. Be smart and buy a doorbell camera.
