This was at least twice as long as it needed to be! Like reading an essay with a required number of words and the student keeps saying the same thing in a different way…
Harvey came to work either hung over or drunk still. Had a bad attitude and went off on Tim. Got fired and dropped the tude and came back. This helped Carol gain a spine and be a better leader. The rest we saw
Soon as my mama graduated high school, her n my daddy got married in 1955. It blows my mind how the decades have slipped away, till now here I am gettin old. It's freaky!
I got that in a skit with Petula Clark which also involved Korean, Korean’s behavior toward Clark was unprofessional. Carol Burnett didn’t tolerate it and fired Korean…temporarily.
She told Harvey if he was unhappy he was free to go. But he changed his attitude after that and put a sign on his door that said "Mr. Happy Go Lucky". She didn't fire him.
This video, like so many others, can't get to the reason of the title until they give a biography of the person in the video. No way they needed to give the background on Carol's life.
In a biography of Carol, a behind the camera crew member remarked on the replacement of Harvey Korman with Dick Van Dyke which in a roundabout way is a compliment about Harvey's comedic talent: "When Harvey put on a wig, he became a character. When Dick Van Dyke put on a wig, he became Dick Van Dyke in a wig."
Carol had already decided to end the show. The 11th season was going to be the last, regardless of Harvey. Carol wanted to explore other parts of her career (Friendly Fire with Ned Beatty). Harvey had been offered his own show, but I don't think it even lasted one season. The chemistry between all the actors on her show have never been seen since. Harvey and Tim went on to travel the country with their two man show. Seems like that wouldn't have happened if there were hard feelings about him leaving the show.
Left out Burnett's time on the Gary Moore Show. Korman did not come back to finish out the last season. He was replaced first by Dick Van Dyke and then Steve Lawrence and Ken Berry.. Overall, poorly researched and presented.
To be fair to Korman, Carol was way too indulgent of Conway & his improv's: that was a live show, so time would've been an issue (commercial breaks), but no, Conway was just too hilarious to ever be stopped. Conway was a very talented comedian, but he & Carol should've known: "less is more".
I believe Harvey was fired because he was Jealous of Carols success. Everything about the show was about carol. Harvey tried to ruin things for Carol by being rude to the guest and messing things up. After Carol fired Harvey he tried his hand at a show of his own which flopped. Carol was popular and famous not to mention household name. Once Harvey was gone he never amounted to anything and was never successful. Truthfully Carol never really needed Harvey her show was still popular after he was fired.
Show went downhill after Korman left. And he complained about his lines, more acting participation, and drank to often, and salary. What about her role in the television series the ‘Twilight Zone’?🤷🏼
This could have been 20 minutes shorter. The narrator just kept repeating the same thing over and over in different wording. Abd we didn't need the history of Carol's childhood.
Are you kidding me? That’s 26 minutes of my life I won’t get back! The most long winded explanation of nothing I’ve ever seen. You just say the same thing over and over again.
After all this it still did NOT say what Korman actually do to warrant his firing! Everytime Conway would adlib/be funny without a script ALWAYS made Korman crack up😂so I'm really surprised to read the Korman was irritated by Conway's adlibbing😮
Carol Burnett is an American treasure 🥰 Every Saturday evening the place to be was watching the Carol Burnett show 😂
This was at least twice as long as it needed to be! Like reading an essay with a required number of words and the student keeps saying the same thing in a different way…
I know, right? "This is why Harvey Korman was fired from Carol Burnett's show. Speaking of Carol Burnett, she was born in..."
Yeah I'm out
If not 4x as long as it needed to be.
@@shawnratashak1296 It didn't need to be any longer than five minutes, and that would have been pushing it.
@MaskedMan66 That is so true.
I loved everyone. I'm 60 and grew up with The Carol Burnett Show
Same🤗. I turn 60 in a month and grew up watching this show too. I love it 💞
@@tameramares5785me too…I just turned 60, and this was my favorite show when I was growing up!
me too!
Me also and I am also 60
I'm also 60, my family never missed her show. Comedy has never been the same.
I love when people quit a popular TV show to "pursue other interests". Then we usually don't hear from these people ever again.

@@superstrangevideo Look it up. I heard the story from Carol herself bruh
Suuuuure you did. LMHO

She was the GREATEST. VERY GOOD U TUBE PRESENTATION!!!

It was a great cast . All of them contributed to making the show what it was .
The incident was never stated why they fired Korman. What a waste of time!
Why in the world do they DO that!?
I got that in a skit with Petula Clark which also involved Korean, Korean’s behavior toward Clark was unprofessional. Carol Burnett didn’t tolerate it and fired Korean…temporarily.
You're kidding right? Did you watch the video?? It seemed very clear to me why Harvey was fired. Pay attention man
"Korean?????"
@@tommygreen3338 WHAT HAPPEN? WHO IS HARVEY?
I always loved Carol Burnett.
Carol Burnett's childhood had nothing to do with why she fired Harvey Corman
Yeah, they always add extra stuff so you feel you get your viewers worth
@@rustysmith5809 Few people feel that way.
She told Harvey if he was unhappy he was free to go. But he changed his attitude after that and put a sign on his door that said "Mr. Happy Go Lucky". She didn't fire him.
Thank you...I stopped watching the video once I knew what actually happened, thank you ❤
What a Waste of Time .... this seemed to go on Forever , and I still don't know WHY he was fired .....
Just talking in circles.
This video, like so many others, can't get to the reason of the title until they give a biography of the person in the video. No way they needed to give the background on Carol's life.
It's there way to earn more money
I gave up after the first minute or so.
what a waste of my time.

It has been seen since; they did a number of reunion specials.

I still miss Carrie 😭
I loved her as Reggie on _Fame._ 🙂
Damn they I feel were the (BEST) cast this a good show 👍👍👍👍
That's because they never fired him. Also, he never had any issues with Tim Conway. They were always in competition pulling pranks on each other
He was back the next day, skipping and whistling ‼️
Left out Burnett's time on the Gary Moore Show. Korman did not come back to finish out the last season. He was replaced first by Dick Van Dyke and then Steve Lawrence and Ken Berry.. Overall, poorly researched and presented.
Carol and Harvey reconciled and they along with Tim had a beautiful reunion special where they highlighted Carol favorite skits on the show.
Read the disclaimer BEFORE watching video.
Having read the disclaimer, I'm not going to bother.
Why was Harvey Korman Fired? When did this happen and how long did the CBS continue after HK was gone?
To be fair to Korman, Carol was way too indulgent of Conway & his improv's: that was a live show, so time would've been an issue (commercial breaks), but no, Conway was just too hilarious to ever be stopped. Conway was a very talented comedian, but he & Carol should've known: "less is more".
That's what I was thinking; first saw her on the George Goebbles Show !
Harvey Korman was a monster, untalented and made bad choices including being in the awful and terribly wrong BUD and LOU movie.
This presentation would be a great example of how to stretch a six-minute subject out to over 26 minutes!
I wish they would had played the skit.
Who's Petchala Clark ?
So what happened duh
Show went downhill after Korman left. And he complained about his lines, more acting participation, and drank to often, and salary. What about her role in the television series the ‘Twilight Zone’?🤷🏼
16 minutes to get to the answer dude? Translation: Korman was re-hired after Burnett's rating went down the tubes!
The curtain rod dress was an improv. She couldn't get the material down so she just took the whole rod.
You’re partly right. The costume designer, Bob Mackie, came up with the idea, somewhat on-the-spot. I cite her autobiography as the source.
First they say he left the show then they say she fired him, which is it?
So who did she help after she became successful?
This could of been shortened.
I still watch her show to this day
You must have too much time on your hands.
@paulbrungardt9823 yeap lol. But I like itt
I think Dick Van Dyke was brought in after Korman.
this video was 26 minutes and 9 seconds too long. all ya need is the first 16 seconds..boom..bob's your uncle!
holy crap, what is all this preamble?
That's the trouble: it's all preamble (and an ambling preamble at that), no payoff.
This could have been 20 minutes shorter. The narrator just kept repeating the same thing over and over in different wording. Abd we didn't need the history of Carol's childhood.
I don't believe this story at all!Pure nonsense.
Harvey karmen probably took his job for granted
Korman.
