  • A review of my Honda CBF600n, a 2005 model, carburetted. No the most powerful of bikes but a great bike for beginners. Its engine, is enough o give new riders the thrills they want, and has enough torque to overtake most road vehicles easily. However this bike will leave you wanting more after 6 to 12 months.

I have the exact same bike even the colour, most people I imagine will read reviews on it and say its boring without even riding it.
If you change the motor for the tuned cbr lump you can call it the hornet and thats a bit of a beast!
I love the simplicity of rhe cbf600 and the smoothness of the inline 4 engine. Had it now nearly 5 years and im not bored, ridden slow its cool ridden fast its not boring and it handles well
    Typical Honda genius.

I have te same bike color and model. It has everything you need in a low bdget. It rides nicely and has plenty of power on motorway yet comfort is great. I have had it for a year as my first bike. It is little heavy for me as im not a big guy but handling and cornering is quite balanced. Overall I would give 7.5 of 10. If youre looking for simple yet enough power and comfort then cbf600 is your go to bike especially if youre new into heavy bikes.

I moved up to one of these from the Honda Bros 400 which weighs 180kg and puts out 33bhp. That was supposedly heavy and under-powered but It was still nippy in town. Compared to it's competitors from Triumph, Suzuki and Kawasaki, Honda are giving you the full 4 cylinders for a lower price and you can't contest the reliability of Honda engines.

Got one of these as my first motorbike. Bought from my instructor on 54000 miles. 8 months later it's on 65000 miles. Restricted but I thrash it up and down the motorway to work and get 52mpg. It's a great workhorse, just wish I had the fairing for the windy days.

I was planning to buy this one. And suddenly i ran into a blue Hornet 600 and I bought it. England vs Croatia you say! Great game, nice memories. :D In England 2021. there will be another one (hopefully).

The model has 57kw of power, which translates to 77.5hp. Which is why you will see 57, 77 or 78 listed under power on different sites.

Wet weight of the Hornet's 200kg. Wonder how to pull a bit off? Looks pretty sporty with a nice pipe (pipe, Dyno kit...?). Nice review, good comparisons, to.

Got the faired version of this. I honestly don't get what you and a set of other people understand by boring. You can't ride this at its limit, nor can I, nor can most of the people that currently own and ride motorbikes.
Would sudden spikes in the powerband be on the interesting side, or..?
Don't get me wrong, it's a budget bike. And torque on it can be categorized as a resounding "MEH".
Plus the roads you're on can hardly be called entertaining.
Don't know about you, but to me, every other bike feels literally the same, save for ergonomics and input characteristics/reaction.

Hey Jinxed SomeMore, Thanks for your comment.
You're right, this bike shouldn't be called boring. Its far from it really, its a two wheeled 135mph machine. If you've got a long enough straight and some big ol' balls. But the fact is, it's Heavy, it's under powered and lacking torque. It's still a great machine, and don't get me wrong, I've had mine 6 months now, and I still love it. But when you compare it to say a Street Triple, that has more power, weighs 20kg less then you start to see where I'm coming from.
One thing that must be said is that all bikes are great, their power to weight ratio is phenomenal, and bang for buck they really deliver.

90% of the riders only use one third of the power of this bike, but all of then say its boring, i think they anta an excuse to spend money in a biger bike.

    Schönes Video. . :-)

YAre you running de-tuned versions over there, here they around 98 to 102BHP can ride easy like an old guy, or it can go insane after about 7,000rpm right up around 145mph if mad enough.

Your correct not as mad as the Hornet-S. My one, she gets to about 6.5 to 7,000 and its starts to go Insane, hang on, its going warp speed all the way to about 12K + hahah. But I do like the CBF very nice, just not so MAD!! 😁
