I bought this game on day one, only finished it about a week after watching Romulus and now everywhere I’m looking everyone is suddenly back on this game and we get the sequel announcement. I’m so happy
I like how if you have a mic connected (for whatever reason) and you speak or make a sound, the alien can actually hear you. Pretty impressive mechanic
Only on consoles unfortunately. I don't understand why this got axed in the PC version. Most PC users have a microphone, and there are plenty of PC games that do similar things.
@@Justin-dp7pg Disagree. I'm a long time Alien fan but i'd say the game is 8/10 at the most. Probably a 7 for me, honestly. It's an amazing audio / visual experience for a fan - especially as a fan of the first film which is one of my favourite films, but as a game it's pretty tedious, and way too long. Plus I don't think the story is anything to write home about. I like to play it now and again to get some alien vibes but I've only actually finished it once fully.
The announcement of the sequel is a dream come true! This game is easily the best Alien game to ever release and is arguably one of THE best survival horror games of all time. I’ve played through it multiple times and I still tread carefully throughout my replays. The scare factor is not easily diminished if at all. Many other survival horrors can’t hold that level of terror.

I'm glad the team that made Alien Isolation (and more specifically the game director) is getting a shot at a sequel. I feel like this is partially due to the success of Alien Romulus at the box office, but that's just a theory. Alien Isolation puts so many other games enemy/monster AI to shame and it's a decade old. It has aged beautifully
@@heavyartillery-qm5huI don't doubt that but it is still the same director and company and I think that absolutely counts for something. I'll reserve judgment till I see it but I got no reason to be overly pessimistic

@@heavyartillery-qm5hu Yeah you're right. I just finished the game yesterday for the first time. My brother is a huge fan of the Alien franchise and he absolutely LOVES this game. He's told me numerous times how scared he would get. As soon as I get a chance I'm so buying a copy.
One of my favorite games. I would absolutely love a game set in the Alien universe that is a lot like Alien Isolation but planetside on a fully terraformed colony with the atmosphere processor being abandoned with nature reclaiming the tower. It would add suspense and terror the player would feel and then having a underground sequence much like in Colonial Marines would be awesome. If I were be in charge of developing the game, the songs I would use would fit in and be specially from the 1950s-70s with some examples being: Rocky Mountain High, Life on Mars, Downtown by Petula Clark, Candyman by Sammy Davis Jr, Beyond the Sea, and Let’s Go Sunning (that one’s from Fallout 3 and the tv show) Overall, it would be a dream complete if the sequel or even a different Alien game uses my idea of being like Isolation but planetside and the terror that would be felt when the player goes into an apartment and turns on the radio to hear “Candyman” and then the Xenomorph comes because it’s attracted to the sound of the radio and the player has to hide in a closet
1:28 it's never too late to become an Alien fan. I really got into it in 2020 but I did get this game on release. Still has the best enemy AI I've ever seen
Really? After a while the game just got too repetitive for me. Seems like the most common criticism. And the story was nowhere near good enough to carry the experience.
I played it in like summer 2019. It's still one of the most tense horror games I've ever played. Had my heart beating a few times throughout my playthrough. Don't think I'll ever replay it tbh lol, but I'm super psyched for the sequel.

You’ll find pipe bombs blueprints. and Molotov blueprints that will drive the alien back.Alien isolation the greatest horror game ever made 10/10 the sequel doesn’t need to change much up because the formula works
Yes. Yes it is. It might feel like it overstays its welcome on first playthrough, but that's because you're so stressed with dread that you want it to be over and can't take another fake ending(which is tradition in horror movies). I can say for myself, after having completed at least a dozen playthroughs over 3 different platforms, the game isn't long enough. I want more. And now we're only a few years away from getting just that and I couldn't be happier.
It's kinda funny coincidence that we have both gotten into this franchise at the exact same time. I have really ignored this franchise all my life until I recently tried it. I have Played Lots of Scary games, this game is Pretty similar to Amnesia the Bunker, but I don't know what it is about Alien Isolation its just the Most Scary, it seem odd to me because much of the Ship is well Lit. I nearly had an anxiety attack having the Alien see me from down a long hallway, it chased me into a room and grabbed me right as I turned to Look after diving under a Desk. A big part of it is the way the saves are spread out, plus you can still be killed while saving, there seems to be no "safe room" to escape to, rather there are small windows of the Story when you are safe, but you can't retreat to those if you want a moment to relax. They did a great job I just don't know if I have the balls to actually finish this game
Really wish they released VR version. Famously it was too scary that devs were concerned people would break their headsets throwing it across the room after a Japanese Sega boss tried it at a show and did just that. 😂
Here's the real length of the game. I think I played this game on hard mode (the recommended difficulty by the developers) and the real length is more like 30 hours. For both me AND my friend it took us 30 hours and we're both hardcore gamers who tend to play on hard mode. But it's a masterpiece, so anyone who hasn't played it should try it.
Great content. But man, you need to invest in lighting. It’ll make your content look so much more professional and will bring the visuals up to par with your writing & narration.
Yes, this game is great! They nailed the horror experience. Starts off kind of slow, but makes up for it later. The sound of the alien, the sound of the tracker, I spent 30 mins in a locker trying to get past a certain point. The AI is definitely better than colonial marines. This was an early Xbox one title and you could have the connect mic pick up noise that would lead the alien to your position
I am 10/10 sure it is that good. Yes it does have SOME flaws, but this is an amazing horror game right here, exceptionally ported to btw to run at high settings on mid 2010 devices, gameplay was ahead of its time (enemy AI was crazy for its time), atmosphere was eerie and futuristic, the story was amazing, and this game ran amazing including on Mac OS & Android/iOS, and really wished they made a Isolation part 2.
To me, the game is nearly perfect. In terms of the gameplay, graphics, AI and all that, its awesome. The main flaw with it to me is in certain points with the plot, mainly in the second half. On my first playthrough I was expecting the game to finish, and it didn't. It left me wondering what was going on and where the plot was going until a new plot point is revealed before the final chapters. I feel that if certain things in the plot had been refined it would be pretty well perfect.
I just got it today after seeing Romulus. It’s had me tense the entire time, and I’m barely into it. Can’t wait for the sequel, and what they do with the story
The game is quite good. Besides Dead Space 1, no other game has legitimately scared me. Alien Isolation perfectly captures the atmosphere and has great sound design.
You mentioned a few times first hours spent and you're right, this game tracks upwards of 15-20hrs depending on the player you are, it's actually quite long. You seem quite positive on it, are you not going to finish it tho or? Surprised you only played a few hours, definitely would have loved to see your thoughts on the story overall and end game areas and stuff etc!
Alien Isolation is one of my top 5 favorite horror games ever, it's so good. The only games that I think are scarier are Outlast, SCP Containment Breach, and The Witch's House (the original free version, not the lame "MV" version)
Isolation is the perfect ALIEN game. ALIENS Dark Descent is actually the perfect ALIENS game if you like XCOM style games. It’s terrifying while also mowing aliens down.
I bought the game years ago but I've played it sparingly. I was keeping it fresh for when I got around to purchade an OLED display. Well I bought an IPS Black display instead and started playing again. Now I've gotten all the collectibles and I'm missing only two achievements. Get killed by the alien 100 times Finish the game without dying
I just finished this game for the first time 10 minutes ago. Game is good fosho but I think maybe a little overhyped. I'm not much if a survival horror fan bc those kind of games are basically walking and hiding simulators. But ya, alien isolation is pretty good, it has slow moments but it is so true to the original movie its insane.
Seeing matty become an alien fan has been so satisfying

For both me AND my friend it took us 30 hours and we're both hardcore gamers who tend to play on hard mode. But it's a masterpiece, so anyone who hasn't played it should try it.
As an Alien fan this game is perfection
10/10 for me. I didn’t continue after a few hours coz I’m too scared. I still have my PS4 physical copy for my collection.
Aliens Dark Descent from last year was also good!
Great content. But man, you need to invest in lighting. It’ll make your content look so much more professional and will bring the visuals up to par with your writing & narration.
It does have VR mode. I’ve not tried it personally because I don’t have a VR headset, but I’ve heard its a phenomenal VR experience
No it doesn’t. It’s a mod that allows VR. It doesn’t have official support.
@@lustrazor44 This was what I was referring to
Yes, this game is great!
Since you do this whole retro thing have you tried the pre 2010 AVP Games? I really enjoyed the side scroller games when I was younger
Good evening retro rebound there is a VR mod that you can use alien isolation it's called the mother VR mod. Have a great day.
One of my favorites pre orderd this bad boy and got the nostromo dlc.
You should look at the IGN review 2024 Tell as what you think of the review .
The game is quite good. Besides Dead Space 1, no other game has legitimately scared me. Alien Isolation perfectly captures the atmosphere and has great sound design.
I bought it twice due to the series x getting 60fps on it is love an improved visuals at 60fps hell of a game
Everyone slept on this game, Reviewers slept on this game, sad. But were finally getting a sequel!!
You mentioned a few times first hours spent and you're right, this game tracks upwards of 15-20hrs depending on the player you are, it's actually quite long. You seem quite positive on it, are you not going to finish it tho or? Surprised you only played a few hours, definitely would have loved to see your thoughts on the story overall and end game areas and stuff etc!
you should watched Raised By Wolves - its a spin off series that extremely under rated that's in the same universe.
Yes it's amazing. I have platinum the game. I'm on my 5th playthrough. Its my favourite horror game
Loved this game but only ever played the original release on the Xbox 360.
One of the best survival horror games ever made.
Alien Isolation is one of my top 5 favorite horror games ever, it's so good. The only games that I think are scarier are Outlast, SCP Containment Breach, and The Witch's House (the original free version, not the lame "MV" version)
Simply put...YES!
Isolation is the perfect ALIEN game. ALIENS Dark Descent is actually the perfect ALIENS game if you like XCOM style games. It’s terrifying while also mowing aliens down.
Crazy I have this game on my iPhone and it runs at a locked 60fps.
It’s the scariest game I’ve ever played and i don’t easily get scared
me and my dad beat the game such great times.
It's 8/10 easily. 10/10 for Alien fans.
based on a footage it feels like you only played for first 2 hours before even getting to the hospital section
I have the aliean isolation platium trohy so yeah im a fan of the game. I hope they remaster it for new players
Aliens is awesome glad u found it 👍
I bought the game years ago but I've played it sparingly.
I was keeping it fresh for when I got around to purchade an OLED display.
Well I bought an IPS Black display instead and started playing again.
Now I've gotten all the collectibles and I'm missing only two achievements.
Get killed by the alien 100 times
Finish the game without dying
I just finished this game for the first time 10 minutes ago. Game is good fosho but I think maybe a little overhyped. I'm not much if a survival horror fan bc those kind of games are basically walking and hiding simulators. But ya, alien isolation is pretty good, it has slow moments but it is so true to the original movie its insane.
