Thanks for keeping it real for us non "SDI" trained builders :)

I have been a few days behind on these videos. I finally got through "part 2" and am waiting for the next video in this series. Great stuff. Makes me want to build one too.

Another great video Jason. I’m working on my 300 BO at the same time, thanks for “Part Two”.

Love these build videos. I usually put just a tiny dab of oil on my roll pins, it seems that they go in easier. I can't take credit for that one, I can't remember where I saw it, but it seems to help so I kept doing it. Keep up the great videos!

That's a great idea! I am so glad you are enjoying these videos. I know they are a lot slower pace than my usual ones.

Looking really good! I had the exact same issue on my gas block as well

I currently have a 16inch Springfield Saint Victor and I plan on making a MK 12 upper with my Saint Victor lower. This is the video I need

I imagine using this information if I decide to build any AR15, and I could see it happen.🤷‍♂ So thanks for the videos.👍

Someone at dd has told me there mk12 gas blocks are more of a presss fit then most other gas blocks but a little bit of oil on the cerakote normally makes it easier and a little bit of break cleaner and some light heat will help clean and dry the threads from the oils used I have a 1x1 chunk of hardwood (old hammer handle) that I use to set my gas blocks to prevent any damage to the gas block itself lol great work on the build

Thank you so much! I am glad I am not the only one with that issue. I eventually used a block of wood and hammer.

Hi Jason…Always enjoy see builder use a maul to assemble expensive parts. In my research the MK military weapons are a mix of part currently available to the armor. Enjoy the build.

Magnetic trays are great just watch out when working on triggers in pistols - sometimes it becomes a nightmare when small springs, detents etc get magnetized - good luck with handling them with metal tools and getting them in place.

Part 2!! Working on my own “mock 12” it’s not even close to clone correct other than the barrel profile but I’ve enjoyed this series!

So you just created it defined a secondary cloner genre 😂 as built from the factory rather than the typical clone as used in the field. Interesting. Enjoy your Mk12 because it is a gorgeous beautiful sexy rifle.

Thank you so much! That is the joy of cloning. There are so many ways of doing it.

Not sure the grease is a good.idea on muzzle device. When you screw off suppressor you dont want thr MD to stay inside the muzzle device. Seen that a few times and a pain in the ass on the AEM5. Normally you use rockset.

    • @thetexasgunvault2
      @thetexasgunvault2  Рік тому

I have had two terrible experiences with Rockset. I have twice used it and it made getting the muzzle device impossible to get off. Heat, water and all other options did not worth. I stopped using it after that. I only use a little grease on the threads on the barrel.

@thetexasgunvault2 normally soaking in water for 24hrs works. I've never seen a problem myself. Just watch when you shoot suppressed as it heats up and carbon up of which the AEM5 does alot of quickly you put on a glove and loosen the suppressor every now and then or you will lose your muzzle device as different then most cans it attaches deep into the suppressor itself.
      Part II coming ✌️

I will. I may rarely shoot this one. But I often just unscrew the can from time to time while shooting to keep it from freezing up.

Just started my build. So far I got the Colt (Keyhole) upper and KAC RAS. I'm looking at the Douglass barrel from Charlie's Custom Clones in "Crane Gray" for $588. What's your experience with them? I've heard mixed things.

Their prices are high, but they sell quality real deal stuff.
