The first dual solo was 40 seconds, the second was 30 seconds and at the end I was wondering how their fingers could keep going. They play through an entire show like this.
The drummer's neme is Haruna. Her height is 4.79feet.(146cm) She is cute. Her drum technique's dynamic double bass and perfect fills are amazing. I love her performance.
Great review Bob. Everybody loves the color of Midori's ESP. I know a couple of Utube reactors said "the drummer is boring". They don't know nothing about music while they are doing reaction channels on music, lol. Yes, good rhythm sections don't go wild, they just don't go unleashed. They control the whole band by controlling themselves. Support the ensemble is what they are supposed to do, as you pointed out.
One thing about this group adding to all other true great things of them said here. Is their so often very uplifting lyrics. Even if the music from time to time ia hard and fast. The lyrics allways uplifting. Filled with hope and emotional ways to say never give up. I guess its Asami writing the lyrics ? Annyway just one more wonderful thing about them... Love from Stockholm Sweden again / J
You can tell by Asami's face how happy she is being on stage again and how much she has missed standing up there. And Fami's smile is just gold, she is a great addition to the band. I wish all of them many more successful years. These gorgeous ladies and -talented- master (!) musicians deserve any luck on this planet.
Fami's best nickname is "5th Element". I think as Miyako incorporates Fami more into new songs we'll see she's got otherworldly technique, and Miyako is a composer who will use that. Just keep Fami smiling, it's wonderful to see anybody so happy doing anything.
I’m proud to have been in that hall on that evening. To come back after two years, complete with a new member playing as if she’d been there from the beginning, and to come back playing better than ever, singing better than ever is testament to the incredible amount of work LOVEBITES puts into their performances. They had rehearsed for several weeks, and have a couple of complete run through’s before each new tour or set. Asami and Fami were fit to burst with pure joy. They all deserve the plaudits heaped upon them, and then some. Having been a fan almost three years, the release of this song to coincide with the release of “In the beginning” at the end of 2021 told me all I needed to know about what we had in store once they were back up and running. They had already begun to play some pretty complex stuff on the Glory Glory to the World EP, and this took that progression a step further. I thought then, and am sure now that this song was a statement of intent. I have a tiny observation, but I’m not claiming it as fact. Midori plays a solo just before the first guitar “duet”. On the original, that too is a duet, but with Miyako playing synth of some kind. Here she just played rhythm whilst Midori had centre stage. So, when the second “duet” is over, and Asami is closing the last verse, Miyako has stayed at the top of the steps after Midori has stepped down, and does some great, bluesy improvisation for about 30 seconds. “My turn”! I enjoy you enjoying LOVEBITES enjoying performing.
Watching Midori and Miyako play flawlessly together reminds me of another great guitar duo. Judas Priest's Downing and Tipton. Those guys could shred with the best of them.
You know I probably have heard some Judas Priest but I couldn’t tell you. Maybe I need to check out their stuff too. These two ladies can really play together. It’s always epic!
Grew up on Priest, Maiden, and Helloween. M&M have gone beyond their influences. Tipton/Downing, Murray/Smith are legends, but some of what Midori and Miyako have pulled off is another level beyond. It is the evolution.
Thank you so much for reacting to Lovebites again! I highly appreciate your focus on artistic abilities. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and appreciation with us. 2:10 (and so many more times): Thank you for honoring Haruna's art so repeatedly! Being a drummer myself (leisure time), I have a "special eye" on her art. I just adore it. She not only _commands_ her drumset, but she is also so incredibly _versatile_ in terms of music styles! She can play sensitive parts ("Epilogue") as convincingly and appropriate, as she beats the "sh....ampoo" out of her drumset (with all engines at full speed) in Speed Metal songs. And she does it so effortlessly! Always the reliable pacegiver, against all odds, in the studio and in live shows! I strongly assume that she has a built-in metronome. 😁She is a one-off. 5:549:23 *Iconic* M&M duets again. You are left watching in disbelieve and awe. 10:11 (and following): All Lovebites engines running at full volume and speed 😁 "Yes, *ladies* , give it to us!" 😂 🤘 🐺
Midori(G) [ESP E-II Horizon FR QM Purple]. Midori's guitar looks "purple" in the live video. Original color not in the catalog. The quilted maple grain is beautifully visible through the purple see-through paint. Pickups were replaced with gold humbuckers. Pickups are Seymour Duncan, SH-1n '59 model in the front and SH-15 Alternative 8 in the rear. Other metal parts were also changed to gold. [ESP E-II Horizon FR QM Reindeer Blue]. The above guitar has been used mainly in past live performances and music videos (such as "Glory to the World"). The original pickups were replaced with silver humbuckers, which were replaced with gold humbuckers a few years ago. Other metal parts were also replaced with gold, Midori's favorite color. Pickups are Seymour Duncan, with an SH-1n in the front and an SH-15 in the rear. [ESP E-II Horizon FR Black]. This guitar is mainly used for recording. Sometimes used for live performance depending on the song. For Drop D tuning, used in "Bravehearted," "Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)," "Shadowmaker," "Break The Wall," "Judgement Day," and "Glory To The World". Black HORIZON used in "Bravehearted", "Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)", "Break The Wall", "Judgement Day", "Glory To The World", etc. It has almost the same specs as the above purple model, but a different front pickup (Seymour Duncan Sentient) was selected. Pickups are Seymour Duncan, Sentient in the front and SH-15 in the rear. [ESP FRX E-II SW Solid Body Snow White] The bridge and other metal parts were replaced with gold. Pickups were replaced with EMG "88". The above guitar has been used by Midori since the days of her former band "Gekijo★Metallic"("激情★めたりっちぇ") and was also used when she joined LOVEBITES. It is also used in the music videos and live performances of "Don't Bite The Dust," "The Crusade," "The Shadowmaker," and "Rising.
From what I have read, this was the last song written and recorded with Miho before she departed. That's why it wasn't released on a studio album. Thanks for another extraordinary Lovebites reaction Bob. I really enjoy your emphasis on artistic abilities. Cheers sir.
I just watched Lovebites' live music video of their song "Bravehearted", from the "Daughters of the dawn" live venue in Tokyo (January 2019). Just _unbelievable_ . Lovebites surpass themselves - if that is possible at all. "A++" ratings in all aspects, with all of them having their individual superheroine moments.
The music video for this song was uploaded after the band's founder and leader, Miho (bass), left the band and LOVEBITES announced that they were going on hiatus. The video footage used their footsteps that they had been running through for about five years from their first stage to Live in Tokyo 2021, as well as a strong message that "we will be back. It must have been deeply moving for them to be able to perform this song at this revival concert after a two-year absence.
Lovebites - Hammer of Wrath lyrics (they have it right, all the wicked will perish) What's the worst way to die? Burning to death, or drowning? Everyone laughs in derision There's no hope at all Why is the world rotting away? Howling in pain, they slowly die All of the sorrow is murderous The insanity They're calling me (Burn up) It's do or die (Burn up) Get ready for hell (Bring down justice to the wicked) Don't look away from the mistakes Open your eyes, and see the truth When lightning cracks the blackened sky Listen to the screams of distress It's like a bad dream but it's not No way to get out, a living nightmare Bring down the hammer of wrath Who will be the next to burn? God only knows the victim Everyone knows they are innocent All the hope is gone In despair they pass away There was no hope to begin with Even the angels are giving up Looking down on us Will this night ever break dawn? (Bring down justice to the wicked) What's the worst way to die? Burning to death or drowning? Everyone laughs in derision There's no hope at all Why is the world rotting away? Howling in pain, they slowly die All of the sorrow is murderous The insanity They're calling me (Burn up) It's do or die (Burn up) Get ready for hell (Bring down justice to the wicked) Don't look away from the mistakes Open your eyes, and see the truth When lightning cracks the blackened sky Listen to the screams of distress It's like a bad dream but it's not No way to get out, a living nightmare Bring down the hammer of wrath Bring down the hammer of wrath
They are livecasting the last concert of their tour on Sunday morning . Can be streamed until Oct 1. Doug Helvering said the drumming was "incessant". 🙄 Granted Haruna is far from a conventional drummer staying in the "drummer box" but everything she does works so who cares. Keith Moon wasn't in the box either and is nearly a deity.
I don’t think it’s incessant. Doug knows his stuff but Haruna plays in thr pocket and adds all the right stuff. Never too much never too little. Sometimes overlooked though.
Well fami is a highly talented young woman and i hope that she gets to learn as much as she can from her band-mates, pretty sure the others will step up their game even more to keep up with her energy and abilities it will be good to see where they go with her in the band.
They choose to wear white early due to them being very petite ladies. Metal stage as a rule are dark, so by wearing white that reflects the light they are more visible. Everyone should listen to just Haruna after their first listen to the song. Off subject - You haven't reacted to Gacharic Spin. A suggestion Gacharic Spin - Instrumental. The guitarist, Tomo Oz is the star but Chopper, bass, Oreo, keyboards and Hana on drums are top flight.
I'm not even sure how to comment on this one. When Nameless Warrior first came out, it was one of the first songs of LBs that I did not like. Something about the excessive usage of alternate picking and the melody. So, I still don't like the song, lol, but I can appreciate the talent the group displays in playing it. As you mentioned, Haruna kind of keeps everything in order. Without her runs, fills, and continuous double kicks the band's sound would be far different. Asami does seem to have stronger vocals though I have noticed she seems to sing a bit lower at times. Anyways, musicianship is great, and as always the guitar soli is great, although maybe not quite as complex as many people find them. You have to play at the level of the weakest musician, similar to how the old cavalry was only as fast as the slowest horse. Overall it is a terrific song, and they pushed it some in this newer live version. Fami fits well, but to date she really has not had the opportunity to display more of her talent vs. Miho since all the songs were composed pre-Fami. No doubt though that she has brought a new level of excitement to the band.
Hey Guy, These ladies are still new to me so I’m blown away every chance I hear them. The do display several techniques for picking. I guess I don’t mind thr double licking so much since I know band musicians who use double tongueing to get through tough musical passages. I’ve never been one to do it but it is a skill some can master and sound good. As long as it works and sounds good it’s all good with me. You are right about Fami. I don’t think we have seen what she is really capable of yet. Just little snippets. My guess is the next album she will be a bigger part of what they do and she will get a chance to shine.
@@bobcieslinski They are an amazing band, especially since each member is practically a prodigy. They use alternate picking in most of their songs as it contributes to the speed of play. As far as the metal genre goes they are probably the best out there. Unlucky Morpheus ranks with them but a different genre. I find their stage presence to be more entertaining, and Fuki is an awesome performer.
@@bobcieslinski Jill actually plays that blindfolded, she has a video of it. She has some video work from I believe her home, and she’s quite humble with big mesmerizing eyes. Her violin replaces the synthesizer sound many bands use, but her dexterity is awesome.
Nameless Warrior was never released on any album other than being added to the greatest hits album by the Lovebites corporation and is also sold as a single. Since it was done live on this DVD/CD it has become more widely known. They are world class musicians, top notch and it doesn't get any better than this band, a few other Japanese bands are good but most of them aren't really that good. Unlucky Morpheus to me is only good because of Jill, I am a huge fan of violinists and Celloists, but the singer Fuki I can deal without, I prefer Marina of Mardelas so much better at singing to me.
I could never understand how people could say Asami had too much vibrato in her vocals and not say anything about Fuki's vocals. The vibrato is so over the top with Fuki that she is totally unlistenable to me and the main reason I don't listen to UM.
I hope you will listen to The Lovebites EP. It contains the original, Japanese version of BRAVEHEARTED. I think ASAMI sounds even better, much better singing in her native language, and I would like to hear your thoughts.
The only thing that bothers me about this version, is that the backing vocals are on tape, instead of having the other gals doing them (which they can do).
LOVEBITES "Nameless Warrior" Music Video ua-cam.com/video/eq2Rh5hMPSU/v-deo.html released on November 16th, 2021, 3 months after Miho's withdrawal, is a video retrospective/homage to their initial 5 years, from Miho's idea formed in 2016 with images throughout their development, beginning before the name "LOVEBITES" was chosen from the 2013 Grammy Winning Halestorm song, "Love Bites (so do I)". Earliest performances in Japan & London, UK & winning Metal Hammer's "Best New Band" worldwide in 2018, just 6-months after their first full album release, signified by the Wolf (their symbol) biting the 'golden apple'. Tours to China, visiting the "Great Wall", European performances at Wacken (1st all-women Japanese band) & Bloodstock, (chosen from 120+ bands to fill Main Stage vacancy), and November 2019 UK Tour opening for & joining DragonForce onstage, 11 gigs in 13 days (!) 6000 miles from home. The 'cov!d era' shattered plans for extensive tours, disruptions coupled with shock of Miho losing her father (at 49 years) led to her withdrawal while 2 other members married & had children. "Nameless Warrior" is their only release that includes embedded lyrics, and in both English (as sung) and the Japanese translation simultaneously, indicating the importance of the 'story' they are telling us with this Music Video. This LIVE performance with Fami is the fulfillment of the promises to "never forget" their origins & their founder & leader from concept thru formation, development & composing/arranging & performances bringing international recognition, as well as "This is the beginning"... Here is a 'fan upload' of this LIVE performance with [cc] lyrics ua-cam.com/video/pA3-KXPNhVM/v-deo.html You might notice Fami's more somber expression during the 'breakdown' vocal passages (4;10 MV / 9;05 this vid) and seriousness of aspects of this story. This, as with so much of LOVEBITES' catalogue of performances, expresses their sincerity & the story-telling aspect of their music & lyrics. 🐺 dreg👁

LOVEBITES - Nameless Warrior [live] lyrics:
This is it, Living under the destiny to fight
My doubts layin' silent in past
Arm myself, I am ready to take the step into enemies
Will you give it up?
What do you feel under the darkness?
I search for light that I have never seen,
Stare inside, I know it's somewhere
Glorious innocence shined by the moonlight
This is the beginning
They will not see me surrender
Bringing back memories
I'll never let it go
Now is the time we'll never forget
Nameless warrior
Hide the light that I found in my path
I call it ''faith'' for now
That is all left for me
Shivering, too afraid of the night but I believe myself
This is up to me [!]
The truth and lies are in the mirror
I search for light that I have never seen
Stare inside, I know it's somewhere
Glorious innocence shined by the moonlight
This is the beginning
They will not see me surrender
Take my hand, I'll be there and never let it go
Now is the time we'll never forget
Nameless warrior
No time for looking in past now
Fears vanishing into the sky...
SOLOs:
Broken piece of a soul
Never heal in the rain
And will there be end to this?
Flaming up inside of me
Giving me insanity
The memories fading in my head and now I'm fallin'

What do you feel under the darkness?

Her drum technique's dynamic double bass and perfect fills are amazing.
I love her performance.
She is a machine. Wow!
She is called "Little Big Engine". Appropriately.
Thanks so much! It’s nice to hear from you and I appreciate your kind comments.
Hey Jonny! Thanks for the info! Such an awesome group for sure.
Yes, this was the last song recorded in studio by Miho and the band--they already knew she was leaving and it has some references to that.
Thanks Hiawatha!
What Haruna is doing with the cymbals is called a cymbal choke.
Yes
This is already a great band. What they do on stage is beyond reason.
Yep
You can tell by Asami's face how happy she is being on stage again and how much she has missed standing up there. And Fami's smile is just gold, she is a great addition to the band. I wish all of them many more successful years. These gorgeous ladies and -talented- master (!) musicians deserve any luck on this planet.
Great comments and completely accurate!👍
Thanks Alek I appreciate the kind words and your great comments.
The more I listen to this performance, the more epic and timeless this song becomes. And I love those smiles!!!
Midori’s guitar has the color Reindeer Blue, it’s in the ESP E-II catalogue for $ 3000,- Dollars
Nice it’s a beauty
🤘🐺🤘How long are the guitar duets ?...M&M : YES ! 😁🎸🔥🎸🤯
Lol
Watching Midori and Miyako play flawlessly together reminds me of another great guitar duo. Judas Priest's Downing and Tipton. Those
guys could shred with the best of them.
It is the evolution.
this was the last song they recorded with Miho as well kind of bitteraweet but they killed it
Thank you so much for reacting to Lovebites again!
5:54 9:23 *Iconic* M&M duets again. You are left watching in disbelieve and awe.
10:11 (and following): All Lovebites engines running at full volume and speed 😁 "Yes, *ladies* , give it to us!" 😂 🤘
🐺
Thanks I appreciate your kind words and the great info. Haruna is just so impressive but most people don’t hear it see it.
Midori(G)
[ESP E-II Horizon FR QM Purple].

Thanks for the great info here. She’s a beauty! Take your pick. 😄
🤘🏻🔥🐺🔥🤘🏻
great analysis and reaction👍🏻
LOVEBITES FOREVER MASTERCLASS
Thanks for the kind words!
From what I have read, this was the last song written and recorded with Miho before she departed. That's why it wasn't released on a studio album. Thanks for another extraordinary Lovebites reaction Bob. I really enjoy your emphasis on artistic abilities. Cheers sir.
Thanks so much Donegal! I appreciate the kind words my friend.
Elite musicianship.
Yes they are
I just watched Lovebites' live music video of their song "Bravehearted", from the "Daughters of the dawn" live venue in Tokyo (January 2019). Just _unbelievable_ . Lovebites surpass themselves - if that is possible at all. "A++" ratings in all aspects, with all of them having their individual superheroine moments.
They are world class music as and they never stop impressing me. Wow! The his new album with Fami is on another level too.
Thanks!
Lovebites - Hammer of Wrath lyrics (they have it right, all the wicked will perish)
What's the worst way to die?
Burning to death, or drowning?
Everyone laughs in derision
There's no hope at all
Why is the world rotting away?
Howling in pain, they slowly die
All of the sorrow is murderous
The insanity
They're calling me
(Burn up)
It's do or die
(Burn up)
Get ready for hell
(Bring down justice to the wicked)
Don't look away from the mistakes
Open your eyes, and see the truth
When lightning cracks the blackened sky
Listen to the screams of distress
It's like a bad dream but it's not
No way to get out, a living nightmare
Bring down the hammer of wrath
Who will be the next to burn?
God only knows the victim
Everyone knows they are innocent
All the hope is gone
In despair they pass away
There was no hope to begin with
Even the angels are giving up
Looking down on us
Will this night ever break dawn?
(Bring down justice to the wicked)
What's the worst way to die?
Burning to death or drowning?
Everyone laughs in derision
There's no hope at all
Why is the world rotting away?
Howling in pain, they slowly die
All of the sorrow is murderous
The insanity
They're calling me
(Burn up)
It's do or die
(Burn up)
Get ready for hell
(Bring down justice to the wicked)
Don't look away from the mistakes
Open your eyes, and see the truth
When lightning cracks the blackened sky
Listen to the screams of distress
It's like a bad dream but it's not
No way to get out, a living nightmare
Bring down the hammer of wrath
Bring down the hammer of wrath

For sure. They are an incredible group. World class musicians.
I may be old but I know some off notes when I hear them. Some of the techs were pretty good!
🤘
They choose to wear white early due to them being very petite ladies. Metal stage as a rule are dark, so by wearing white that reflects the light they are more visible. Everyone should listen to just Haruna after their first listen to the song.
Off subject - You haven't reacted to Gacharic Spin. A suggestion Gacharic Spin - Instrumental. The guitarist, Tomo Oz is the star but Chopper, bass, Oreo, keyboards and Hana on drums are top flight.
Thsnks for the suggestion! Can you send me a link please?
@@guygourley2411 I just finished up editing that eruption solo video you told me about. Holy cow it was mind blowing watching Jill play that.
@@bobcieslinski Jill actually plays that blindfolded, she has a video of it. She has some video work from I believe her home, and she’s quite humble with big mesmerizing eyes. Her violin replaces the synthesizer sound many bands use, but her dexterity is awesome.
@@guygourley2411 due she is on another level. I’ve seen some amazing violinists but wow she’s a beast.
Bob, I think you are a great Musican too.🤘🤘
Thanks so much Armin!
🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺💪🤘🤘🤘🤘 Has anybody got the link we supposedly getting for the live show yet?
At the time of typing this, not yet.
If you've purchased your ticket, the link is active through the purchase history link in your confirmation email from PIA.
@@mythsteps1 Yes I see it, thanks for the info !
Hey Sal! Thanks for the info and comments.
I hope you will listen to The Lovebites EP. It contains the original, Japanese version of BRAVEHEARTED. I think ASAMI sounds even better, much better singing in her native language, and I would like to hear your thoughts.
I’ll check it out Greg.
The only thing that bothers me about this version, is that the backing vocals are on tape, instead of having the other gals doing them (which they can do).
I wonder why they did that.
Hi there, Did you know Dimash has a new song out on his channel? Check it out please. Looking forward to seeing it.😊😊
Thanks Joyce! Is it the one from the Panda awards?

LOVEBITES "Nameless Warrior" Music Video ua-cam.com/video/eq2Rh5hMPSU/v-deo.html
released on November 16th, 2021, 3 months after Miho's withdrawal, is a video retrospective/homage to their initial 5 years, from Miho's idea formed in 2016 with images throughout their development, beginning before the name "LOVEBITES" was chosen from the 2013 Grammy Winning Halestorm song, "Love Bites (so do I)".
This LIVE performance with Fami is the fulfillment of the promises to "never forget" their origins & their founder & leader from concept thru formation, development & composing/arranging & performances bringing international recognition,
as well as "This is the beginning"...
Here is a 'fan upload' of this LIVE performance with [cc] lyrics ua-cam.com/video/pA3-KXPNhVM/v-deo.html
You might notice Fami's more somber expression during the 'breakdown' vocal passages (4;10 MV / 9;05 this vid) and seriousness of aspects of this story. This, as with so much of LOVEBITES' catalogue of performances, expresses their sincerity & the story-telling aspect of their music & lyrics.
