The world misses you Grant Imahara😭
Mythbusters was an awesome show
thank you Science Channel for not cutting this into 8 one-minute videos and then leave off the conclusion like Discovery would.
RIP Grant. You are missed.
They need to bring MythBusters back
@Gordy Skymop they don't hate each other. They just aren't friends. They never hated each other so stop spreading this lie.
If they did hate each other they wouldn't have been working together for so long.
@@Cristian-vl8pg what happen between Jamie and Adam
@@Tonyvvia42 Nothing happened, they were always strictly in a professional relationship. This is Adam talking about it- ua-cam.com/video/KEopyF186UQ/v-deo.html
Be very hard with out Grant
Kind of got your wish. Tory started motor mythbusters (I think that's the name at least lol) with the original narrarator returning as well. It's not the same without the rest of the gang, but I still like it. It's probably as close as we will ever get to a reboot
I was kinda hoping that this was a new segment. I miss the original Mythbusters.
I miss the old Mythbusters... 😢
mythbusters is not on now?
There’s a current show of Mythbusters, but the producers got a whole new crew to host it, and the quality is not as good
I had heard a rumor that they had gotten Kyle Hill as one of the hosts, but it was that Kyle had hosted a special event where they found the new hosts.
@@dracoargentum9783 oh, I saw the video was recently uploaded and thought maybe it was back on.
Man the second tree with fertilizer dropped needles as much as my plastic tree after it’s fifth Christmas
Probably too much fertilizer causing the tree to dehydrate through osmosis.
I'm a little sad they didn't demonstrate how flammable the trees were after that experiment. XD
Another video has that. Adam and Jamie tackled that one early on.
This is stupid. You don't have to do all that. Everyone knows that you just apply a drop of super-glue at the base of the needles you want to keep on.
Dsonophorus I just spray my tree with flex seal
It still doesn't feel real that Grant is gone. The cool things he could still be doing if he was around. The world lost such a smart and talented person. 😥
Thats messed up, they jacked his sign up..
I'm sure he was compensated off-screen
It has more character now that's all.
They better have payed him
exactly just park the truck outside LOL
@@zionnuby842 I'm sure they did. Adam has said they left everything better than they found it. That's how they had so much help making the show.
I friggin miss this show...
RIP Grant
The secret is to buy an artificial tree. Mine is 20 years old and still going strong
Yeah, fake tree suck. Nothing beats real trees. Guess that’s one of many reasons why our Christmases rule all.
I have a tip for the needles falling off trees
Just get a synthetic tree
This show was the best
God I miss this show
For real, especially staying home sick from school and watching all day :/
A cat may drink the water in the tree...needs to be healthy for them.
Uh oh stinky
@@FreeRangeLemon funny to see you in another comment section after the buzzfeed one from the other day lol
I’m like Justin Y. I am everywhere :)
RIP Grant
5:24 LMAO!
Vi Mos. My teacher cut that part out when we watched this in class and it was so dumb haha
My science teacher didn’t edited it out but we all know what it is
Who keeps a tree up for 6 weeks??
Suppose thanks giving is December(november...oops) 23rd. By Christmas it's been up 4.5 weeks. Ppl usually wait until after new years day to take it all down. Close to six weeks is pretty much what everyone does.
@@mikeries8549 Maybe for people in Arkansas.
Many people put their tree up right after thanksgiving, and keep it up until well after the new year. Sometimes even longer.
I’ve kept mine up till July
@@mikeries8549 I guess aunt betty's not going to take the bait.
Santa Claus is coming to Town went you are Nice to Him at Home All ways.🎬🎅🏻🦌🎁🎄🎼📜
I miss this show!
Kari is so smokin hot.
Why did this show ever end?
Cause these clowns couldn't prove that jet fuel melts steel beams encased in concrete.
We needed this a few weeks ago...
Rest in peace Grant
What did the hair-spray-tree smell like?
Probably like the 1980's...😂😂
I could have sworn they had used commercial tree preserver when I watched this on TV. Guess I was wrong.
Ok so how are these results at all reliable if you only tested one tree for each product? Every tree even if they are all the same type and in the same place and all use the same product will have different amounts of needle loss.
Every year my family just got a Christmas tree with the root bulb on the end.
Water it with ice cubes when it’s in the house, then we would plant them outside. Not too many needles fell off since it was a live tree.
Momma's little helper lol
I’ve used bleach and sugar to keep flowers alive longer, it works surprisingly well. I’d think you could substitute the bleach for vinegar since all you’re trying to do is keep bacteria from growing in the sugar water
Rip 😓
6:26 "Bring it in... paint it for me. Funky!" lol
3:55 (skip past intro)
7:30 (results) i.imgur.com/YJUHmI1.png (image of results, cut/pasted together the best you can, with their bad camera angles)
They were stupid and didn't show all the containers results,
So, although they didn't show the results, I am going to say (against what they said) that Lemon Lime Soda and Pain Relief (aspirin) are probably the best to use, since they are non-flammable and cheap. I would assume you could mix them too. Perhaps the soda is toxic enough that mold and bacteria won't grow in the soda, as opposed to just plain sugar water.
Great video, completely RUINED by bad camera angles and bad editing.
Not to mention, they didn't mention the two other test cases: "Mythbusters Super Tree" and "Diagonal Cut." Your numbering in the photo is a little weird as #5 in the 2nd photo is #1 in the bottom photo, but clearly this test sucked. Mythbusters is a lot of fun, but not very statistically sound. They didn't really test things with more than a treatment size of 1.
@@nimoy007 Although It was probably unintentional, it was hard for me to tell, so I numbered them the best guesses I could.
They decided to go with fancy camera angles and moving camera effects, instead of insuring all the tests were displayed in a way that left no questions about the results.
It's just kind of funny to do a "science test" and not clearly and properly display the results for us to visually judge for ourselves.
If you pause at 7:21 i think this is the tube result you missed i don't know what it says let me know what its says cause i'm bad at reading it cursives
@@stephencram3079 it looks like that says "Commercial Product", which is not shown.
Even weirder yet, they said 7 different things and 1 control (for a total of 8)
It is VERY weird that they left out the results of using a commercial product...
?? = Commercial Product?
Hair Spray
Pain Reliever
Santa's LH
Fertilizer
Control
Soda Pop
Mythbusters Super Tree
Bleach
Diagonal Cut
I miss these guys....
I swore you guys used a Viagra pill on the trees
Y’all know what “Santa’s little helper” is😏
Pro tip......don't cut the tree down.....
Y’all act as though there isn’t already an entire industry devoted to keeping cut plants alive! Put the tree in water and spray the needles with crowning glory - a liquid wax. I’d bet you a penny it works even better than the hairspray.
Deep down I was hoping they would burn all the trees at the end. Ever see an entire Xmas tree on fire? It's glorious.
I SINCERELY hope you mean outside....
Surprisingly the amount of house fires reduced significantly with the LED Christmas tree strings, as obviously they don't get as hot as the classic incandescent bulb versions. And naturally they still got fuses in the plugs.
CLEAREX
From Botanicare
Glucose and Sucrose
Has kept a tree green all year after being abandoned on back deck!
I would think spray glue could technically work. You'd have to apply it very meticulously at the base of the needles by basically drenching the wooden part of each branch, but at that point, just use the glue for something productive like cosplay. It'd take less time to vacuum the floor 8 times over than it would take to pull a 5 Minute Crafts with the tree.
5:12 Viagra!
What about adding vinegar. If you add vinegar to bamboo, the leaves will never come off
Would've been better if they had a few trees per condition...
Recommended after Christmas thx UA-cam
I hope they have fire sprinkler with trees and hairspray and other chemicals
Photo mount spray adhesive. Jk. Don't use that.
Could someone identify the footage they used from 0:21 to 0:40 please?
5:17
I remember this scene from when I was a child
Hot water in the tree makes a big difference
Recommended about a month too late.
Get a fake Christmas tree then-
Rooting Hormone = best
Dont cut it down in the 1st place.
Then what do you do
@@thewonderfulwonder1614 buy a plastic one
that poor sign lmfao
what about the urtethane?
The secret to keeping needles on your tree.... buy a fake one lol
Nope. Fake trees suck and aren’t Christmas. Fact.
Classic episode!
Ooo blue pill ooo 😏
Poor trees
how did the plain water do? They never showed that
It's labeled "control" at 8:03
Kari doesn't seem to understand that sugar (carbohydrates) is what plants use to grow. Its literally all thats in the packets that you use to keep floral arrangements alive longer.
5:10
Still not 100% sure what this pill is a decade later...
Viagra
it's viagra
How about stop killing trees for entertainment.
Plastic trees are more of a pollution problem then a real tree that is farmed and regulated and is biodegradable
@@XxS1NxX you put them back in the box to store for years to come. Something that dies was once alive.
They didn’t make sure that all the trees started with the same amount of needles to begin with
Ok I prefer the bleach test best because I don't like the fire hazard. I would experiment with it and add some food dye. I would try with the ones used to color cake frosting, those colors are more opaque.
It sucking up the bleach so it should also suck up the color. It has worked for me when trying it with flowers.
💙💙💙💙
Didn’t the red head pass away?
No there was another girl on the show named jessie. She was blonde and shes the one that just passed away breaking her own land speed record
what trees are they using this is for a school assignment! pleaseee
Douglas fir, they say it at the tree farm
