The way Carrie messed up was when packing it with her bare hands. She transferred the scent to the outside of the container. She should’ve used gloves when packing and changed gloves when closing the containers.

That wouldn't make a difference. Its a sniffer dog. They smell better than we see.

They never gonna show you how to beat a sniffer dog even if they figured out away

They should have also tried adding a couple decoy containers where they just had containers of coffee or bleach or peanut butter etc without the mystery substance inside and see if the dog still found the correct container. How do we know the dog wasn't just sniffing out peanut butter?

People smuggle things around the world every single day. Myth confirmed.

Since they said the "contraband" is legal, I'm guessing it's gunpowder or some kind of common explosive and Rex is a bomb-sniffing dog. Not too far of a logical leap since illegal substances comprise like 90% of what dogs are trained to locate.

I like that they call the officers "sidekicks" of the dogs 🐕 🤓.

    Surprised, a fully air-tight container wasn't used.

Fried chicken. I would also put red chile powder around to make the dog sneeze.

Hopefully they tell you this in part two.
Even if you put illegal drugs into anything you can think of, that article will still be semipermeable. The molecules inside the illegal drugs will still go through any object and allow the dogs to detect them. The longer the drugs stay inside the object the easier it is for the dogs to find them because it gives the molecules inside the drugs more time to permeate through it.

What if it's in a container inside a vacuum (airless environment, not the household appliance)

@@RyanAnderson0 cant beat the physics, not for very long anyway. carbon lined, vacuum/heat sealed mylar will afford a few hours of smellproofing. after that its a roll of the dice hours 2-8, then its game up. more layers=more time, but its not much.

Didnt start well with the brainiac question of, "What is the difference between a detecting dog and a tracking dog?" Is he expecting an audience with very poor comprehension skills? Never answered the question.
