    This lyric in particular - it gives me chills every time:
    "I am a wonder, a wonder in flower"
    What an unbelievably beautiful and powerful sentiment! It's like the universe looking at itself in the mirror!

      @@anunachoir Miss the wind , I used to play blues harp. I f it's up enough you just have to put fingers in front of the holes. Works on singing , it's pressing so much back down your throat again , that no sound comes out. 60 kn and up. I really don't know . But you have a masterpiece there , It made think about quitting smoking, and forgetting all the spray painting I've worked with . If Nature meant all things should be made from plastic , every tree would look like a plastic straw. You rape and sow as you rape. Or sow and reap . And that's the pay , You could have made that song , or reinstated it any time and it would have bee just as wonderful ,

    For me, this is one of the most quietly powerful and subtly beautiful things I have ever encountered on youtube and on the internet itself. I adore its integrity and intimacy with the earth and elements. Go raibh míle maith agat.

    Simply an incredible remake by one of the foremost choral groups in the world! I have followed them from the professional beginning of their very first recorded album. Michael & John McGlynn are truly and unequivocally musical geniuses! They have taken traditional tunes and new compositions and have produced a compilation and legacy of some of the most beautifully intricate ethereal choral music ever written, produced and sung on this earth. Sound a little overly dramatic or flowery? Let me assure you it is not anything but true! Kudos to the McGlynn brothers and all the singers! From their first standout appearances in "River Dance" singing several of composer Bill Whelan's wondrously and delightfully inspiring songs to their present day popularity! A wonderful way to bring in a new hopeful year! Thank you for this! An admirer from the U.S..

    I have loved this song and composition since the first time I heard it so many years ago. It’ still has a magical effect upon me even now over 25 years later. One of the best ancient songs Michael ever put to music. The words of Amergin live on.

    • @anunachoir
      @anunachoir  2 роки тому

      Eh no... People view Anúna very differently to what we actually are. If you investigate most of our albums on Spotify or iTunes you'll find we are abstract and experimental by default. No prizes for that though. People see what they want to too often.

      @@anunachoir Sure. I saw you live at Clonmacnoise, outdoor on the banks of The Shannon as swallows zoomed overhead, in maybe 2002 and the Anuna albums I have are from that period too, so I have some catching up to do! ( I live in Tokyo so not many chances to see you in concert for here).

    • @anunachoir
      @anunachoir  2 роки тому

      Again no :-) the last concert we gave in Tokyo was in 2018. We have been frequent visitors there over the last few years.

      Adding to that you will be able to purchase hard copy CDs in Tokyo much easier than you would any of our releases in Ireland.

    So many times I questioned myself why I stopped writing music, singing and playing guitar, flute or other musical instruments because I considered that music is only there to make us recognize others and is not useful for more than that, the mere fact of showing something beautiful that empathizes. with how we feel...what is it for? I am still in this dilemma because life led me to look for activities that give me better income to survive (I live in Latin America) and it is difficult for me to believe that the beauty that we express is not just a selfish act to say "look what I can do" or help in something to someone else. Listening to this very beautiful work encourages me to create music again and share it despite it, and I don't know why.

    • @anunachoir
      @anunachoir  Рік тому +1

      Maybe this is the only thing actually worth anything. If you create music to show off yourself then you are not an artist. There is a clear distinction. Follow what you are meant to be.

    • @diegoalbelo9033
      @diegoalbelo9033 Рік тому

      It's hard for me to find that distinction...when I was studying I saw excellent musicians at the conservatory who were very competitive with each other, trying but to hide it, without empathy with other "levels", musical preferences or cultures. Although maybe it was just my perception.

    • @anunachoir
      @anunachoir  Рік тому

      It was what they are. Often a place of musical study is the last place that the truth lies. Be yourself. Life is short.

    Have you guys covered Mo Ghille Mear (My Gallant Hero)?

    • @anunachoir

      We sang it with Sting on The Long Black Veil in 1992 and then with the Chieftains a few years later in Dublin. Otherwise no. It's not on our list.

    @corujabiruta3732 2 роки тому

    how you guys define this stile? I know it is technically "choral music", but it is different from anything I ever heard. Is it a variant of new age? Is it something you create? what do you call this?

    • @anunachoir
      @anunachoir  2 роки тому

      Well - it's not choral music really, and not new age anything. It is the music Michael writes for us so it's probably best described by him
