This video earned a sub. Im an ex rosette trained chef and now a game shooter hunter in my spare time. Your pie is hands down best game pie recipe i will be using rabbit, wood pigeon and venison in mine.

I can hardly believe it. After donkeys years of study as an amateur cook, I have stumbled across a chef who really knows his business. Recipes of superb detail and clarity. What a find. Thank you.

Thank you John. You've made made day. By the way after several years of inactivity I'm going to start making pie videos again. Watch this space!

@@TheWindmillMayfair Hi Carl! Great to hear that you're returning to youtube! I'd given up hope! I made your steak and kidney pie and it was so good that I made a pilgrimage to the Windmill a few months ago - the real deal was even better. Are you still at the pub or have you moved on?
Would you consider reuploading your recipes to the Windmill website or to a new website of your own? The recipes are currently only accessible by using an internet archive...! Thanks for all the great recipes and I hope you're doing well.

Great recipe. I have pheasant and rabbit and looking for an additional ingredient. Should I be frying rabbit before or cooking as you did venison? And should any other game be given different treatment to go in a pie?

Those loose bottom pork pie tins are excellent but blooming expensive to buy! 3inch or 4inch diameter?

@@TheWindmillMayfair can you tell us the dimentions of the pie tin? Thanks.
Looks sensational without the hassle of hand raising a pie crust
