  • This video is the first part of a four-part series on Competing Risks analysis led by Prof Karen Bandeen-Roche from the Department of Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA.
    It presents the competing risks framework as an analogue to the survival analysis approach in addressing time-to-event data which may be more relevant in many clinical situations in research.

    The key difference between competing risk and censored is that for censored case, the subject can renter the study and experience the event, while for competing risk, the subject won’t be able to experience the event, so it’s competing risk
