What an incredible inside look at how Bark River Knives are made! Actually I’ve never seen how any are made but this is really impressive. Quality control at its finest! Thanks for the tour. Great filming!
Thank you for the sweet video. Every American should have at least one BRK. Out of the tour vids this one really captures the love. Keep the knife love going strong !
When egos are not more important than the product! Professionalism shines and superior Gold standard production occurs! I respect what Bark River does!
Great BRK plant tour and I felt privileged that owner Mike Stewart allowed you both to film the different processes of making a knife and sharing it with us. I found myself drooling over all his knives laying on the various tables and work stations throughout the tour. I was just as impressed when Mike indicated you could send your knife back in and have it repolished at no charge, except for the shipping. Don't know of too many companies that do that. You could feel the pride of work ethic on the part of all the employees as you took your camera through the different rooms and watched Mike explain some of the processes entailed in making a BRK knife. Kudos to BRK and all of you for making and allowing this video to be made. It was so great to observe the methods of manufacturing from one of the premiere USA knife makers.
I am really glad that you did this video. I love Mike Stewart, his family and his [awesome] bladed tools. I would not even consider going into the BWCA, or the Canadian Parks without his knives.
Phenomenal. Every step hand done, my goodness. This tour has certainly given me a real appreciation for Bark River Knives. I must admit I kind of cringed when I first saw the prices of their knives but now I understand that you are really getting excellent quality and workmanship for that money. Thanks for sharing.
P.S. Congratulations to you both on 20 years of marriage! Two awesome people who found each other ... and living an awesome life of adventure together. So happy for you both! Thanks for the UP your ... I may get back there this year. We'll see ... :)
Thank you so much for this!!! For me Bark River is the best knife company (fixed blade) using best quality materials ,what I would call midtech fit and finish like mass-produced!!! There is no-one that do what they do... Big dream of my, unfortunately I moved to Indonesia recently and we don't have them here and if you find aftermarket it's gonna cost 2-3times the original price!!! One day I will have it and I go for CPM 4V
Nice company! I was not sure about Bark River... but now I want one. And yes, I live in Michigan! Beautiful knives and like how they do things. Great video tour!
Incredible operation. enjoyed every minute of it ,the numbers are staggering.Producing an amazing product, think I might have to find a style for me. Can't help but say ,I love that dog,,.Thank you Brooke and Dave ,would never get a chance to see something like that without your involvement....Stay safe and God Bless....
Awesome thanks for this video I've been kicking around taking their weekend class grind in and after watching this I can't wait to take the class and make a knife what a nice guy and operation definitely be proud to carry their knifes.
I didn't know where their knives was made and I learned more the last two months and is glad that I did find that this company is in Michigan. I saw some of their knives on UA-cam channels and the owners love their knives.
The owner greets you at the door not in a three piece suit, but wearing a sweat shirt with grinding dust on the front. That tells me that he is hands on when running his company. To me that is impressive. Thank you for the tour.
THIS IS AWESOME!! This is the shortest 22 minutes 27 seconds of my life. Mike is so nice man. I can feel his passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to his work. I don't say it's business. That must be his life work instead of "business". The new knife that has a finger hole is very attractive to me. I should check the DTL's site out right away. Thank you for sharing this video for us.
Awesome! Thanks for posting this tour of BRKT factory. Bark River is one of my favorite knife manufacturers. I sharpen knives as a hobby business and I'm often asked "what knife should I buy?". Depending on what the purpose is behind the question, my BRKT knives get pulled out to show them. I am sharing this video on my business website and FB page. Apex Knife Sharpening (Apex, NC)
Was just checking out how lucky I was to get a hearted comment... I see the world is blessed today. feels like it to me, coffee in the sunshine & a whole day to do what I want. :) so I didn't see the way they cut out the blanks or do the heat treating - what kind of kilns do they have ?????????? ya I'm weird like that !? who really cares why , It's not to hard to live with my self. SO I was wondering if Bushy was bright eyed enough to catch the tail end of the shop you missed ??? please say he did ! that girl with the boots looked practical... I like that . but sadly it occurred to me she may not like being Fedexed anywhere bravo #1 or no . to bad finding some one is not practical... I'd settle for a decent treasure map, but who can assure my there's love at the end. I'm going out to the shop to build a sterling silver handle for my Wok lid ! that I CAN do . see-ya Brooke.
Love watching this tour. Great information on the process of knife making. One of my brothers makes knives that he sells at flea markets around where he lives. If you ever make it to Tennessee, be sure to go to the Smoky Mountain Knife Works located in Sevierville, TN. 108,000 square feet of knives, survival gear, kitchen ware, and antiques. With a few other goodies for the kids and family. It's definitely an all day visit to see everything. The place has multi levels of awesomeness. 😉
Brooke.... I thought this would be as boring as snot, but you surprised me!! Excellent video. Lots of terrific information. Just wish I could afford something like that, LOL. Thanks for sharing.... great job. BTW... nice to see you didn't get rid of Dave too. Love ya....... Ax
Great video guys , I’m a big fan of Barkriver knives their quality is second to none for a production knife company and I currently have a Bravo 1 field knife in my collection 👍🏻🇺🇸✌🏻
Awesome video Brooke, thanks. Ladies first, obviously, but now I'm heading over to "Bushy's" channel! (I see that he's not cringing every time you call him that anymore)
Wow,just watch bushies vid.then yours, great , little things that each of you missed and the other picked up on, but between the both of you got it all.great video.loved it ,as I told Dave great job and I'm in for getting a new 🔪 cheers my friend and thank you for the trip;).oncor.
Well, I can swear my next knife will be a Bark River. For some reason, always thought BR was some large faceless corp. Am I stunned?! You actually tugged at my heart strings there a bit with the Airborn Knives division deal. Very big of you. Kudos. Well, time to check out which new BRK will grace my side. Awesome story. Can't wait for the knife build vid. Thanks for the great video. Cheers
A beautiful company that makes beautiful knives. I know, because I own a Bark River Bushcrafter ll knife and love it. Buying more models through DLT Trading soon 👍
As a knife smith I found this video inspiring. Thank you for this. I love the hidden tang knives they do. I've read that they do Black jack knives so it was cool to see them on the table. My favorite knife smith is Bo Randall. Also Swamp Fox. I make knives that are a mix of the two. I like to do full flat with convex edges mirror polished. Dont like slab knives they are too cookie cutter simple. I use 01 like most Randall knives.
Escanaba in da Moonlight, eh? It's pretty clear why this knife maker is so popular ... what attention to detail! Another great video! Where's the also-famous UP cuisine?? (lol) Miss dem Pasties! ;)
This is how you run a company! Hats off to all of you!
I like that Mike isn't fake. He doesn't pretend. I will continue to keep buying these knives and support the families of this company.
Excellent job covering the factory and getting to know one of the owners. He seems terribly genuine. Thanks
So cool to see someone so passionate about what they do. Love it! Thanks for sharing 👍
