I'd compare Thomas and Michael like this: Thomas' Angus McFife was an energetic and powerful, yet sometimes goofy warrior who brute forces through his obstacles, while Michael's Angus is the super handsome prince in shining armor and more of a technical fighter (probably had swordsmanship lessons).
It's a good song, damn catchy chorus! . The vocals will take a lot of getting used to. He has a very 'clean' voice, where as Tom a gruff edge to his. I'm open minded about the album though.
I actually really disliked Tom in the beginning because he doesn't look like a metal guy at all... but he grew on me. Hopefully he's started his own band and we'll have something cool to listen to from him AND more Gloryhammer.
@@XXXChef22 No one knows why, the band didn't give a clear cut reason. People said it had something to do with band members being outed for racist/sexist comments in some leaked private chatroom messages but I don't think that had anything to do with it as Thomas (the original Angus McFife) wasn't apart of those messages. Until the band members give a reason, if ever, we'll never know and can only speculate.
It's strange to hear this new singer, but honestly, you can see He is trying his best. So lads, lets give the new prince a Chance And follow him one more time into neverending battle with Zargothrax.
I saw them with sozos last year. He’s a better singer live than Thomas. Both good, but this guy can nail it. If you like Gloryhammer, support the new singer and let Thomas go. He’ll be back with another band. For the glory of Dundee 🤘🔨🦄
@@davidlangstaff3745 some people don't go to live concerts tho. Like me. However I do like this song and think the new singer is good, it'll take some time to adjust but I still dig it.
They still have their sound but regardless of that I miss Thomas. Sozos does a great job, absolutely no shame on him but Thomas voice is what I know them for and what I associate with their songs. It's going to be hard to get used to it.
It's sad when band members have beef and breakups. But ultimately we have to learn to accept those beefs as part of the life they lead. As long as they keep making great music that we can head bang to and can make us smile then life will go on. Also, I gotta give props to Sozo. He can definitely sing.
Not entirely sold on the new guitar sound (or maybe that's just me) and new singer's voice, but I'm sure both will grow on me. Love the three first albums by Gloryhammer after all
I saw them perform with the new singer opening for alestorm early this year, he is amazing live, still can’t tell which singer i prefer as they are both very unique with there sound
He sure sounds great, I feel like he fits in with the band's sound. But I still like the "gritty" voice of the OG Angus McFife. New guy sounds too smooth for me.
I've heard a few differens bands with Sozos Michael on vocals - Helion Prime, Planeswalker, Eons Enthroned, now Gloryhammer - and he is a good singer but there is something with his voice that makes me lose interest pretty quickly. The smoothness might be it.
Sozos sounds amazing as always but imagine if they 'resurrect' OG Angus in a song on the evil side to do a battle duet. C'mon Chris you know you wanna.
For how much my brain likes telling me 'it's just not the same' every time I listen to this song, it sure loves to make me shout the first lines while jogging outside.
I was REALLY worried when I heard his covers but now that we've got a full scale production with him in the role and costume, I can see that he's taking the legacy of Angus McFife seriously and really putting on those gritty epic tones that we've come to love. I'm looking forward to seeing how far he can actually go
I was VERY skeptical at the beginning of the song, but once it started really going, I was hooked! I really like the new guitar tone, seems so much more power metal than before. More raw. Awesome!
It takes time to see if this new singer has what it takes. He sings well, but there’s no real danger to be heard. He’s taking it quite gently. Thomas had very unique, raspy and high vocals and this is generic power metal. I still like it tho, but I’m hoping to hear some real use of vocal chords in the future.
At the end when he really kicked his voice up? That's when I was sold. The man has the range and power, so give them an album to get him properly fit into a band and we'll be good to go
Upon rewatch, one thing I like about the singing voice for this Angus is that he isn't trying to emulate Winkler's Angus I or XIII, he seems to have a softer tone, especially in that intro. I wonder if that will feature also in the characterizations of each character -- Angus I and XIII were noble-hearted but delighted in the thrill of combat and conquest, whereas this Angus (I've been told he's the V?) may be a bit more of a reluctant hero, longing instead for a more peaceable and serene time. If absolutely necessary, however, he seems willing to fight and die nonetheless, though yearning always for the "land of freedom and light" where he might rest.
For those who are wondering: Fly Away isn’t part of the next album. This song also features Angus the 5th while the next album will mostly focus on Angus the 2nd.
Well it's about damn time. I've been dying to find out whats going to happen with this Zargothrax clone I heard about. Maybe Korviliath is summoned from the 18th hell dimension at last. I'm also hoping for a new Rise of The Chaos Wizards type of song and perhaps a Silent Tears of Frozen Princess.
Loved Thomas as Angus, and seen a bunch of people saying this isn't the same... well no duh. But the music and energy still looks the same to me. At the end of the day, this is the start of a new story, a new journey. Looking forward to what comes next.
Gloryhammer is my fav Band❤️ Sad the old Singer is gone, he was amazing and perfect. But the New Singer works very well whit Gloryhammer. Saw him on a Fastival, he is very good live.
I'll have to get used to the change, but I like the grit he's putting in his voice here much more than the smooth voice in his Legendary Enchanted Jetpack cover. The song itself is just the right amount of cheese as always too.
@@Dialga205 Grittier than they were in that cover, anyway. I don't mean to say his voice is actually gritty now, but that he's putting more grit into it in certain parts compared to how utterly smooth his voice was in the Jetpack cover.

He's extra fun in Muscle Bound for Glory
What the hell? I've whatched the new singer do covers on youtube for ages, and now he's in Gloryhammer? Damn, good going Sozos Micheal :D

@@LordChristoff It is! They are my favorite band :D
@@sebben13 Yeah man! I always attribute them to being the group that got me into Power Metal.
Shame they've disbanded now though :C
@@LordChristoff Yeah it's sad. But that's how it goes. At least we have all their albums for the rest of our lives :)
I don‘t like Sozos chicken legs 😂 also, he definitely loses the fight with the shining armour now.
In other words, they're both awesome, just for different reasons.
There is something in it…😂
Sozos is an awesome singer and I´m just as happy over his new job, as i am sad about Thomas being out.
It's a good song, damn catchy chorus! . The vocals will take a lot of getting used to. He has a very 'clean' voice, where as Tom a gruff edge to his. I'm open minded about the album though.
That was what I was feeling too.
Agreed
Sozos is great, but he sounded better with Helion Prime tbh. Maybe they just know how to make ix and produce vocals better than Gloryhammer guys.
Oh I know that will be running around at work and it will pop into my head and I'll start singing to it
The song is really good, but I can’t help but wonder what it would have sounded like if it was the original signer, those are some big shoes to fill
Why did the lead singer change?
Well, it happened to coincide with the outing of some pretty controversial attitudes of some remaining band members...
I actually really disliked Tom in the beginning because he doesn't look like a metal guy at all... but he grew on me. Hopefully he's started his own band and we'll have something cool to listen to from him AND more Gloryhammer.
One might say a heavy hammer to lift
@@XXXChef22 No one knows why, the band didn't give a clear cut reason. People said it had something to do with band members being outed for racist/sexist comments in some leaked private chatroom messages but I don't think that had anything to do with it as Thomas (the original Angus McFife) wasn't apart of those messages. Until the band members give a reason, if ever, we'll never know and can only speculate.
My one year old son is obsessed with this unicorn at the end of the video.

No, don't suck em off
highlander: there can be only one
gloryhammer: there is more than one
He sure sounds great, I feel like he fits in with the band's sound. But I still like the "gritty" voice of the OG Angus McFife. New guy sounds too smooth for me.
Same here so far. Very curious about the full album.
@@revuutube he might do exactly that since, as far as I'm aware, he and Thomas are not exactly on good terms right now
I agree. I think Thomas voice is more unique.
For how much my brain likes telling me 'it's just not the same' every time I listen to this song, it sure loves to make me shout the first lines while jogging outside.
0:45 Nice homage to Hollywood Hootsman! The California Kingdom!
Yeah, that's the flag of California with the Hootsman riding the bear!
I was REALLY worried when I heard his covers but now that we've got a full scale production with him in the role and costume, I can see that he's taking the legacy of Angus McFife seriously and really putting on those gritty epic tones that we've come to love. I'm looking forward to seeing how far he can actually go
He has to at least go to Mars :D
I was VERY skeptical at the beginning of the song, but once it started really going, I was hooked! I really like the new guitar tone, seems so much more power metal than before. More raw. Awesome!
Yeah i agree but i dont think ill ever get over Thomas leaving
Same man. I was skeptical at the start but when the Rhythm kicked in I’m like oh FUCK yes!
Yeah, the guitars are way better
My 3 favorite songs are: 1st. Rise of the Chaos Wizard, 2nd. The Invasion of Unicorn Dundee 3rd. This on: Fly away
I really enjoy this documentary
For those who are wondering: Fly Away isn’t part of the next album. This song also features Angus the 5th while the next album will mostly focus on Angus the 2nd.
There‘s only one Angus McFife and he‘s called Angus McSix

I've been dying to find out whats going to happen with this Zargothrax clone I heard about. Maybe Korviliath is summoned from the 18th hell dimension at last. I'm also hoping for a new Rise of The Chaos Wizards type of song and perhaps a Silent Tears of Frozen Princess.

I think he's a worthy successor.
Sums up what I think quite well.
this is Angus McFife the XIVth.
These guys always create pure magic... I followed them since the beginning.

Sad the old Singer is gone, he was amazing and perfect.
But the New Singer works very well whit Gloryhammer.
Saw him on a Fastival, he is very good live.
I'll have to get used to the change, but I like the grit he's putting in his voice here much more than the smooth voice in his Legendary Enchanted Jetpack cover.
