    I’m 5’6” and 160lbs. Currently riding a 2019 yz250f. Same story as you! I bought a motocross bike to trail ride. Mistake. Thank you for the video. A few of my local dealers have some of these 250s in stock. Think I’m going to pull the trigger.

      Yeah man I wish I would have known before hand lol Do it man! You will fall in love! Especially for us shorter riders. I’m 5’6 150lbs and this was a game changer for me! Once I set sag and get a low seat it will be even better!

      @brobafett2494 Perfect way to describe it! 😂 I got bucked a few times because of the suspension. Not to mention how heavy it was and hard to maneuver in slow sections

    Haha i thought I was the only one who had broken all (except one) of the wires in the bead of the tire on a tire change. Bent all three tire irons in the process. Tire lasted about 100 yards before disintegrating. Great video, looks like a great bike.

    your absolutely right about the difference between the 150, I just got one, got 20 hrs +/- on it now. I did a fairly technical steep hill climb, and it was more clutch play to get up. I bought the bike knowing it was going to test my skills, but I wanted to advance my skills so I'm very happy with it.
    side note: the white map is a game changer for technical sections.

      Nice man!! Super fun bikes from what I hear!
      Agreed on the white map! Just did a 45 mile single track loop through the woods and the white map was amazing through the slow rocky tech sections! Be on the lookout for the video!

    They're practically giving the 250's away right now. I just picked up a 2024 TE 250 for $8499 out the door in Oregon! Looking forward to getting out in the dirt

    Was there a way you could just order the shroud graphics and fork cover graphics or did you have to get a complete set? Thanks. Looking at getting a TE150 or TE250 but worried the 250 might be too much bike for me.

    • @techlift_
      @techlift_  3 місяці тому

      You'll be good on a 250 (Check my latest video riding hill climbs)! It's nothing insane but also nothing short of power! Also, I just got the shroud and fork graphics from SKDA. The webiste lets you select it but I cant remember 100%. I may have emailed them sent a screenshot of the graphics I wanted and they made a mock up. I approved then they sent me an invoice. That way I didn't have to get the whole set.

    Great video. I'm a newb to riding. A very good MTB rider but really want to start riding trails and some day enduro. Would this be too much bike for me to start on? I'm 46 6' 185 and pretty fit. Thanks!

    Thanks for making this video I found this really helpful. I'm also new to dirt bikes myself I got about only 5 hours of seed time LOL but I just picked up a CRF250f for my first bike. My plan is to develop my skills on this and then upgrade to the te 250 or KTM 250 xcw but like you I'm only 5'6 and I know the husky has the shorter seat height. How well can you touch the ground on this bike the way it sits?

    • @techlift_
      @techlift_  6 місяців тому +1

      Glad it helped! Keep racking up that seat time and trust me on this - practice clutch control and slow stuff. I just did a 45 mile single track loop (been riding for a year now and have 60hrs of seat time) through the woods/rocky up hills (Video coming soon) and this saved me! I was thanking myself for the 10+ Hrs I practiced going slow practicing on modulating the clutch and tipping over all the time. It gets really fun man and all that stuff allowed me to have a great ride! Exactly what I got a dirtbike for! I would recommend the Husky and a two stroke over a KTM. Short rider and this bike was a game changer for me. I havn't set sag or lowered/shaved seat and I can touch with my toes. Still way better than my 4 stroke KTM and feel way more confident!

    • @OdysseyOffroad
      @OdysseyOffroad 6 місяців тому +1

      @@techlift_ Thanks man, yeah the husky does seems attractive to me also because I can get it much cheaper than the KTM version locally. Where I am the Huskies have bigger discounts. What do you know about the starting process you should probably do a video on that LOL I've heard people fouling plugs and having issues with warming up the tbi bikes. I know you got into it a little bit in one of your videos but maybe you make a video on how you warm up the bike seems to be a lot of controversy.

    I just picked up today, a 250 te. I paid 8100 for the bike. After taxes it was 10000 ish. Talk about a smoking deal

      Nice man! Congrats! I got a great deal on mine too! Guess the 250s aren’t very popular so that’s why they let them go for so low! That’s what my salesman told me.

    Personal thing but I like 250 2 stroke a little better than the 300s. I have a 2017 KTM 250 xcw 2t and I love it. 250s make about the same hp ( low 50s) as 300 but need a little rpm to achieve which makes it to more fun/ challenging to ride tight woods. But the 250 does feel lighter and more maneuverable. I’m 6’0” 200 lbs and my 250 has never had any issues climbing the steepest of hills. It’s all about clutch control and finding the right gear ⚙️👍🏼. I put a FMF Gnarley pipe with a Shorty exhaust for more low to mid power. Definitely recommend for woods single track 2 strokes. 80 hours on mine since new and motor and clutch still feel new. Always use full synthetic trans oil and 2 t mix. Will last along time 👍🏼👍🏼

    I have about 4 hours on mine and it seems to run pretty bad down low off idle and it doesn't idle consistently It will be fine at first but then after an hour or so it idles too low and will stall. Is that how yours was?

    • @techlift_
      @techlift_  8 місяців тому

      When I first got the bike yes! Set the Idle screw! Its a known thing on these bikes. It can also lead to fouling your plug if not set up correctly. I'm at 30hrs now and have had no issues. I set the Idle the second time I rode it so like hour 2.

    Great review, I'm similar stature to you 5.6 165 lb I ride single track, some a little on the hard side. I went from a 20 KTM 300 TPI XCW to a 23 GG EC 250 TPI and imho the 250 is a better bike !! it handles better, its more nimble, the stock suspension is better, (linkage) and the power delivery is better. One of my biggest complaints with the 300 was it used to bog coming out of tight corners if you weren't in the right gear, yeah sure, I could slip the clutch, yada yada, but, with the 250 your always in the power, its more peppy down low. And don't anybody kid themselves, the 250 will lug like a mofo, I can't really tell much of a difference !! Next bike, it will def be a 250 for sure, maybe a TBI ?. Oh, as for the gas tank problem on the 24 models, Morgan from Highland Cycles on Y.T did a fix for ti, check it out. Enjoy the ride. 👍

    • @techlift_

      Yeah… insane that they come out with a new gen bike and you can’t use all the fuel. You run the risk of getting stranded with half a tank left 😂
