Hi and thanks for your video. It was very useful in order to complete the process of installing all lights included in the Lightingbug deluxe kit. Regarding the door panel lights, I preferred to start from the back and make my way towards the doors especially to bring the cables through the rubber conduit between the main body and the doors. Inside the doors, once removed the big speaker, I decided to make a hole in the upper part of the plastic frame holding the big speaker in order to pass the cable coming from the inside of the car through the rubber conduit. My Tesla Y High Performance has finally the futuristic look that she deserves ( I have like you installed the carbon fiber covers for the central dashboard and the door panels ). Very happy about the look. This kit is the only one on the market that connects to the main electrical system of the car without relying on the cigarette plug inside the central console.
@@Joshsmoove It was very difficult for me as well. I used a metal hanger from the dry cleaner which, once you open it, it becomes a very long metal wire which is perfect to be pushed and pulled diligently through the difficult rubber conduit
Great install video man. I just bought the full kit from Lighting Bug Tech and I think I used your code if I remember correct. I’ve got everything installed except the door lights. They are obviously the hardest part of the install so I’ve been hesitant but your video helps a lot.
Just got my Model Y LR. At first I thought taking off the door to install this lights was too much for me. Ive slowly hyped myself up that I can do this install. So I'm getting this kit and we will see how it goes.
@@m3jazz So heres an update. After months of putting it off, I finally started installing the ambient lights. So far I got the dashboard, center console, and arm rest installed. Looks amazing. I think I'll do the seats soon and the door lights too. Im thinking of tinting my windows first before installing the door lights. Thanks again for your videos.
Hey man this looks really great. I’m gonna get the full kit myself and return the existing one I haven’t installed yet. Question, does the door wires connect to the existing module install you did into the reserve plug? Or do the doors have their own separate module?
Hey folks I'm gonna help some of you out. I was absolutely about to give up on getting that wire through the cable gasket between the door and the car. Fishing it through would simply not work for me. I ended up liberally wrapping the cable in electrical tape and then pushing it through. You will have to get it started pushing your fingers through but once you reach the ridges in the gasket you can use them to push through the wire. I was ready to throw in the towel after 3 hours of this and then going about it this way got the wire through in 5 minutes. Good luck!
Sorry if I missed it. What would you say the average install time is for the full kit with/without the door lights for a novice compared to an experienced person?
@@rhuynh After removing the speaker, I drilled a hole in the upper part of the plastic frame in order to push through the cable. I wanted the speaker to completely connect its rubber seal in order to minimize any kind of sound distortion/vibration
@@m3jazz I apologize I meant not disrespect. I have so much respect for anyone smart enough to do this because I most definitely am not. Thank you for your great video.
Great job explaining this installation. You make it look easy with your full descriptions.
Much appreciated!

@@Fractal70 awesome news. Congratulations on the install 🙌🏽
I love how easy he makes it look, pulling the wire through the door.
It's not easy at all.
Was definitely a difficult spot, glad you got it 🤘🏽
@m3jazz I didn't, lol. I ended up tearing one of the lighting wires, so now I have to grab a whole new door kit.

Nice and clear showing the steps, but what about the back 2 doors? are they the same way installation?

Okay I was wondering where the rest of the install was at thanks 🙏
No worries, I received this kit at a later date. That is why they are separate
Where’d you get those carbon fiber dash and door panels? They’re dope
Thank you! From a company called Hills Made
Looks real nice brother!
I’ll b scared to do the install myself 😅
Let’s see it at night!
Don’t be scared! You got this!
Thanks ❤
Keep up the great work!
That's pretty cool, but I'm not taking my new Tesla apart!
No worries there 🤘🏽

@@robertyoung8615 many ways to get the job done. I’ve installed more than 10 of these kits fishing the wire through. Glad you figured it out though.
Sorry if I missed it. What would you say the average install time is for the full kit with/without the door lights for a novice compared to an experienced person?
I would say a 2-4 hrs.

@@m3jazzawesome. Now to just work up the nerve and decide between laser kit or the other.
Do they on with the car lights or how do you turn them on?
They automatically turn on and off with the car. You can also turn them off via the app, but that is not necessary
How do you run the wire out from behind speaker.... there are no gaps or holes?
I ran it under the speaker trim
@m3jazz so it doesn't lay flush and it's okay that it is crushed. That's what I ended up doing as I did not want to drill or cut. Hope it is fine.

Its just some regular frog tape. I have linked it

True, but the consumption has to be minimal, barely noticeable. I'm sure driving with tires with low pressure has more impact than this update.
