    Phillies Fan Here. Scouts have said many times that Caba is the 2nd coming of Francisco Lindor. Switch hitter, gold glove defense and at 19 will grow and gain more power with his hitting. This was a solid pick up for your team. Loved this kid.

      @danielportela418 19 years old and growing. They said his eye at the plate is above average. He will be a solid player.

      Is it too late to give him back? We should send him back.

    Win/win for both teams but Phillies won if I had to choose because trade deadline would of netted the fish more (see what I did there)

    Another trade for "future" players with potential that never pan out?

    I'm not upset by this at all. The Cubs obviously had huge concerns over his physicals, he has a history of being hurt and next years projected salary is almost 9 million. Let the Phillies deal with that and hope he isn't hurt most of the season

      The ownership group is all but disinterested in fan support. This is a profit sharing scam. Bottom spending teams (save for Tampa and Cleveland) make the playoffs less often than moderate spenders and struggle with attendance as fans can’t become attached to players. DON’T OWN A PROFESSIONAL TEAM IN A BIG CITY AND SPEND LIKE YOU’RE IN A SMALL TOWN

    The Marlins are just trying to get worse now but they had potential to make the postseason but ofc Pete over here doesn't want to do good trades or free agents at all I miss Kim tbh...

      Huh what do you mean I mean we are trying to get worse by doing a fire sale but you have to understand that the current team we had at the start of the season was not gonna do much. Also you have to give Bendix his credit he’s made good trades and gotten us good prospects with good upside like DLS, Ramirez, Norby, now Caba who I really like and even Snelling too. But im glad Kim is not here anymore because she literally made our farm 29th in baseball and if you don’t have a good farm you can’t really compete in the future and have a long term plan to compete. Look at the Orioles they used to be like the worst of the worst and what did they do they traded players and with value and got good prospects and drafted well and why there so good now because it takes patience ik most marlins don’t have that but sometimes you gotta be a bit optimistic and see things from the bright side of things.

      Weak a$$ commissioner. This is terrible for baseball. MLB should have forcefully purchased the Marlins years ago and required new ownership investment. Also an unfair advantage for National League East rivals

    I like the trade. Bottom line is Jeter ran the MLB team and the farm system into the ground. Rebuilding the front office and the minor league rosters is a good step in the right direction. Out of last years mess, they actually found some pretty good players' Lopez, Bride, Edwards. I suspect we will see a lot of young guys again this this year and like last year, some of them will come through. The bottom line is the current ownership is never going to spend much money on free agents. Developing young players' whether acquired through the draft or through trades is going to be this franchises future. The biggest factor last year was losing the whole starting rotation to injury. That's not likely to happen again. The pitching staff is okay, there are a lot of young position players with more showing up this season. They won't make the playoffs but if the pitching stays healthier, a.500 season would not surprise me.

  • @TonySahatjian
    @TonySahatjian 27 днів тому +2

    I don’t like this. Luzardo when healthy is a one or one B. Caba has speed but if he never hits he won’t be able to get to his speed.

    • @bryangonzalez4604
      @bryangonzalez4604 27 днів тому

      Well from what I heard most scouts are saying that Caba is like Lindor, good eye, gold glove defense, and hits very well and I am liking more and more and I think he will be good for us and he is only 19 so give him a year or 2 and then will see how he’s like in 2 years or 3 will see.

    whoa negative nancy the one speaker(fish on th...), this is a great trade! How do you expect to improve the team? This is how you improve the team, Luzardo is very injury prone and I feel a bit overrated by fans.They had a horrendous minor league, now one of the best. Dunno but young talent coming up excites me.

    • @One-Zig
      @One-Zig 25 днів тому

      They’re venting on the team’s long term strategic objective. Miami Marlins have the worst winning percentage of all active teams. And will only double down for the next three or four years as they flirt with 100 losses. They’ve also adopted a model where players will be traded before they reached their prime for more prospects. The stands will be empty.

    • @BeefCatOriginal
      @BeefCatOriginal 25 днів тому

      @@One-Zig My comment was referring to one speaker who was overly negative on this trade, everyone else was fair. I've been a Marlins fan since their inception so I'm clear on their history. And I disagree with your pessimism about 3-4 of flirting with 100 losses, you may as well keep going forever because 3-4 years is too far to predict. Maybe I understand Bendix and Sherman's strategy better, or at least trying to.

    • @One-Zig
      @One-Zig 25 днів тому

      @@BeefCatOriginal Was somewhat hyperbolic. Next year will be brutal, but years from now they might perform better. Improved drafting and minor league coaching is expected from all MLB teams, but it must be followed by a reasonable, competitive payroll to retain talent and plug holes with players people want to watch play. Especially in one of the biggest, most expensive counties in the country. You agree chronically trading quality players before their primes for salary reasons and avoiding signing stars DOES NOT fly in Miami…right?

      What do you expect of a farm team for the Yankees? I'm hoping for the worst record in MLB history in back-to-back seasons! That would be something! Can the Marlins do it? We shall see!

    • @One-Zig

      It’s insulting. Imagine opening a store and not investing, keeping the shelves barren but complaining nobody shows up. Later announcing if more people bought your undesirable trash you’ll consider investing appropriately. In this case, though, there is a social program allowing the store to profit without even trying…thus Miami’s fan apathy.

    Marlins “fans” still don’t understand what bendix is doing. The path forward will be aligning core players with the same control time and sticking to building a deep layered minor league system with players available on demand. Small market teams and even medium market teams just can’t compete financially with the money bag Mets and dodgers. Get used to marlins focusing on small ball with a focus on defense, strategic coaching, and baseball fundamentals. TB 2.0. It could work. I’m optimistic. Biggest pain in the ass is the division we play in.

    • @FishOnFirst
      @FishOnFirst  19 днів тому

      Give them more credit. Many DO understand, but disapprove that the "path forward" comes so directly at the expense of the current team. And although the farm system has gotten deep very quickly, tearing things down hasn't netted many guys who realistically can become great everyday players or SPs.

    • @StrongholdLament
      @StrongholdLament 19 днів тому

      @ personally I never agreed with the rebuild. Teams should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. I expect bendix just wanted to do it his way with nothing linked to Ng or Skip. There’s clearly an ego thing going on here. But ya know with desperate teams like the Mets around I feel the only way for small market teams to be consistently competitive is to follow the TB rays model.
