The Marlins will be lucky if they haven't wrecked Meyer's career. He was pitching great in the majors. Just let the guy pitch, and end his season early if you want to limit his innings. You don't demote a guy who is locked in the zone and earned his place in the majors. If he recovers from this to pitch well again for Miami this season, it will be all to Max Meyer's credit, not the buffoonish "leadership" of the Marlins.

Sorry I missed the live show tonight. Lots of interesting material. My only comment is to say I'm not conflicted, as Ely referred to much of the fan base, about moving on from Chisholm whenever Bendix is ready to do so.

this is incredible. i think its worth adding a couple extra minutes worth of time to each game to get the utmost accuracy, while also preventing arguments and unnecessary ejections. keeps everyone happy.

When Miami sends there front office personnel to check on the Wahoos they are always most interested on the progress of Joe Mack. They are really high on this guy and could fast track him to AAA but they should wait till next year. He's still young and improving and like all good catchers is a team leader.

You know how much of a fan of X I've been since day 1. So glad to see him getting a shot anywhere since the dude is a legit big leaguer. It might not make a huge difference for W's and L's or anything this year, but I think just from a production standpoint, from an attitude standpoint, from a talent standpoint, basically everything, he's a major upgrade for this roster. The arm at short makes it so that he might be limited to a super utility role, but his bat is good enough to be in the lineup every day or and a pinch hitter / runner on off-days. He's also better defensively than Brujan at SS already, and obviously a much better hitter than TA if he's going to strikeout every single time. I like Gray too, so I think he has a shot to stick. His glove is big league ready. He's a power hitter too so he just needs to have better plate discipline. His floor though is a defensive replacement since he's probably better at 3B/SS than any combo of Burger, Rivera, Brujan.

Holding out hope that Bendix turns conventional thinking upside down and moves on from Anderson soon. TA has no future in Miami, a failed experiment, and the team has a chance to strenuously vet Edwards at short. Let's do it.

Wasn't to happy with him when he unloaded on Sixto in a press conference about his 1st inning struggles. That was something best left in the managers office. If a player went off about a managers decisions to the media he would be gone that night.

Schumaker seems like a good fellow - husband, father, and baseball guy. My preference, as I suspect most Marlins fans, I suppose, is for managerial continuity - with Schumaker. The consensus opinions of managers (players' manager, disciplinarian, etc,) fall under some limitations since most of us can never experience direct interaction as a MLB player. Many Expos fans hold on to the Felipe Alou mystique of a players' manager who draws out latent talent. Some of this is undoubtedly tied to Spanish communication ability and cultural understanding. Still, I think managerial temperamental "difference" can't be more than a few games a year (like Chisholm's WAR). I am not referring to in-game managerial moves. Yes, some managers are more astute than others. Still, as with players, managers move on quite often - so we shouldn't get too attached. Have our favorites, of course. But given the reality of the game, having constantly wounded hearts over the departures of players and managers is odd to me. I wish the best to this fellow in San Francisco or wherever he lands. As Mish noted, there are only thirty MLB managerial spots, so one never knows for sure about immediate openings and the fit for Schumaker, despite "manager of the year" on the resume.

Really good ball player. Ignore his BA right now for it seems he's always on base and if he draws a walk he seems to always find third. Should be moving to AAA soon in my opinion. Best lead-off hitter I've seen at a Pensacola in a while and plays a solid CF.
