  • We all know that dental labs are going digital. Gone are the days of dusty analog workflows, re-trys, and significant introduction of error. The future of restorative dental work lies solely in the realm of computers and 3D printing. But how do you make the jump to digital dental solutions? Is it even possible to catch up to the industry leaders? Well, yes!
Today on Implants Made Simple, we're talking to Chameleon Lab co-founder Adam Ahokas, a pioneer in the digital dental lab space, about the future of dental labs and what this means for your practice. From materials and workflow to the amazing benefits of in-office 3D printing (changes and new try-ins in MINUTES, anyone??), Adam covers his story and shows how anyone can learn to transition from slow analog dental restorations to advanced, fast, and repeatable digital solutions.
If you'd like to get in touch with Adam directly, you can find him at chameleon.digital, via email at info@chameleon.dental, or via phone at (919) 696-5864.

We totally agree! Also appreciate your AOTC-inspired username, though it probably means your profile pictures can't be fully trusted 😆

I have never provided this solution to a patient. I deliver all on X solutions without issues so I view the 3 on 6 as added complexity which is not a sound engineering principle. In other words, one should endeavor to provide the simplest of solutions with the best long-term prognosis for their patients thereby reducing risk.

Isnt working in a dental lab dangerous for your lungs?

Anywhere one works with dust in the air can pose a health concern. That is why special precautions like ventilation, vacuum, and masks are taken to keep everyone safe.

@Stanleyinstitute I got offered a job at a dental lab but they only offered surgical mask in the Removables room making plaster impressions. I was in the room for an hour during the interview and felt like I smoked 5 cigarettes the next day. The room probally only 15' x 12'... and then they make flippers and dentures around that area and I heard the chemicals in that stuff is the worst (for acrylic type Removables) and them I read sone people get occupational asthma or copd ... I just wish I knew how dangerous that environment really is. Maybe like a painters ventilation mask is best buti think my co-workers would think im crazy if I wore that.
I'm guessing a dental office is much safer?
