- It is good to see that once every 7 years EA decides to fund a single original idea. This decade's new game is called Magic Gunman, in which you play as some actor guy who has to use a variety of finger guns to stop General Bad Guy from buying a One DND subscription.

Just so impressive how they managed to make these gorgeous graphics and special effects feel so damn bland.
The graphics are not good.
It's almost as if graphics/effects have nothing to do with aesthetic.
You could make the most graphically impressive rock imaginable, but it's still not very exciting to look at.

It's perturbing to see facial animation that's expressive and not embarrassing. It actually looks like a game should at this point in time. I didn't expect to be so impressed.
facial tracking and animation is getting so so good. eventually we'll have npcs that dont look dead inside!

I think key framed animation and expressive character designs are much better than this uncanny face-scanning technology.
Idk, maybe protag has facial animation but le evil brown girl just hangs around with poker face and even her "dying" looks like she's not worried by it in the slightest. I would prefer someone with less stony face.
It says a lot about the state of the industry when games meeting a minimal level of quality is impressive to us. Now they only need to be enjoyable.
I genuinely thought this was a forgotten Xbox 360 era game, until I realized the graphics were more mid-PS4 quality, and then further read and realized this game was released like a month ago for PS5

It's better to take your time. Makes it easier to justify the crazy money you drop on the plastic crack, and it's just more satisfying when a whole unit is finally done. Great hobby.

Isn't that typical with gaming nowadays? I barely hear about anything, but I don't spend almost any time on social media besides UA-cam so that could be why.
For me it wasn't that quiet, I saw from e-mails, UA-cam ads and a gaming news channel. Seen less from the "bigger" titles like Starfield.
I believe I started seeing Starfield ads after the game came out, but they were then pointless as by that point I had already seen non-commercial videos of it.
Too many games being made, limited hours in the day. I get a lot of video game ads and almost all of them are indie games, so one of few places I'd get ads for video games is occupied primarily by indie games so Starfield, Armored Core 6 and others aren't given to me almost at all.
I barely play video games and when I do it's a few PVP games, so it's not like the indie game amount is personalised as they're indie and either SP or co-op.
But my UA-cam front page is filled with these bigger titles for one or two sessions, so ads aren't necessary at least for me. Someone will upload something with the game title in the video title and I will get that on that page at some point.
Because people, who talk about the games they love, never made a video about it.
Holy hell, that sprinting animation especially makes the whole thing look goofy. Imagine this guy just running around with his arm all the way out, and when he sprints he keeps that arm forward but pumping back and forth. I think people forgot this guy is never actually holding anything

5:26 I think this is unironically a good idea for a video game. You get transported to a magical world and just get to lay waste to everyone with modern weapons, while they use spells, swords, and bows. I remember there was a game that came out in like 2010 that was about a guy who was sent throughout time to stop disasters from happening and you could use assault rifles against like Civil War soldiers. The game apparently sucked ass, but it's still a fun concept.
Edit: I looked it up and the game was called Darkest of Days.

There's that mod for dark souls two that just gives you an assault rifle. The only way i ever played that game

Another game with a simmilar concept is called Shadow Tower Abyss.
If you want to play another magical-like FPS, I recommend AMID EVIL. For their 'shotgun' its a mace that shoots out shards of ice and their 'rocket launcher' is a staff that shoots mini planets.

Oh wow. I had no idea what this game was, I assumed this was just another obscure like early-mid 2010s EA game that just looked decent graphically. Imagine my surprise at the end when you revealed it released only a few days before Armored Core lmao. I had 0 clue to this thing's existence until now.

The people who made this game probably just saw the gameplay of Ghostwire: Tokyo and decided to make their own version of it.

You’re actually correct about one dnd. They have basically come out and said that this is the last edition, and that they’ll just update it at times. So yeah, they are trying to make it into a live service game. Sad times.

I am morbidly curious what kind of monetization the new d&d tabletop simulation thingy will have. PvE games are hard to monetize as is, plus you can't really monetize progression since that's (hopefully) controlled by the dm. I expect the product to have tons of awful monetization in all kinds of new and ambitious forms, horse armor 2.0.

I like how the childhood friend is generic person of color woman default skin #2. Woman of color default skin #1 is the sassy older lady who smokes cigarettes like that one character in Wolfenstein that is in half of every AAA titles released since 2016. Default Skin #2 is the boss from the latest Saints Row and other great hit titles I'm sure will be memorable for years to come.
