Billow Wood are excited to announce the release of their newest single, “Running From Wolf”.
“​Are you there still in my tree, I’m running from Wolf ‘cause he is chasing me”
The dramatic opening lines of ‘Running From Wolf’ set the scene and tone for the rest of the song. The ‘Wolf’ is chasing, gnawing at their back; in this song the Wolf is a metaphor for time, and how living in modern society has us always chasing time or searching to extend the amount of time we have. If we don’t ‘​keep up the pace and pick up the slack​’ we will not be able to survive efficiently.
The high energy, rhythmical chorus, punches home the message that if we ‘​Rest, we Rust’ ​, meaning if we are not going forward and progressing all the time then we risk going stale and moving backwards. Another reminder of the intense and time addicted society we live in.
When we reach verse three, it is suggested that our future has been already mapped out for us:
“​Iv seen your path and it splits in two, You’ll be left to dance with ghosts. Now you know, make the most”
If we don’t give ourselves time for slowing the pace and time to heal, we will inevitably be left to dance with ghosts.
