That was a neat little basic modelling tutorial. But if I may suggest some stuff. I think when doing this you should of also shown copy special or what it's called, where you get to chose the amount of copies OR instances and the translation/rotation between each step. Thar way its a 3 click operation to make all the steps automatically ;) And the benefit of doing it with instances, is that say for instance you want to change the look of each individual stair, or the look of posts of the railing, maybe sculpt it some more, add some profile to them by adding edge loops and scaling them. If done with instances you only have to change one and they all change ;)
Hey Mike, really enjoying your tutorials! I've been following some of your older stuff and am fairly new to modeling. I noticed that on certain objects you'll bevel some edges but not others. Sometimes resulting in n-gons. Is this because certain situations it's alright to have n-gons? Also how do you know what edges to bevel, and which not? I know there's many different scenarios and maybe those are tough questions to answer. Sorry if you've covered this in previous videos, I'm still working my way through.
Typically a domestic staircase has 13 steps per single stair. The total height varies per country and situation but on average a step is 8" high and 9" deep. You can also use a 3d model of a character for reference

I know that i'm repeating myself but i really like time lapse fridays :D

i feel so new to this omg. but how did you do this ??? 0:45 i wanna know how you copy and pasted it so fast and accurately :)
If memory serves, there's the combination of Shift + D you must press after cloning the object and positioning it in the desired point in space.
very nice job small Modeling thank u sir Mike
