    Dirt Bike Magazine tests the all new 2022 Honda CRF250RX at Cahuilla Creek in Southern California. For 2022, this bona fide closed-course off-road weapon is all-new, with the same upgrades as the motocross-focused CRF250R. Those changes, which result in reduced weight, more low-end power and improved durability, are particularly well-suited to closed-course off-road series such as NGPC, GNCC and WORCS-the realms of top teams like SLR Honda, JCR Honda and Phoenix Racing Honda. Making the bike even better suited for those applications, the CRF250RX comes standard with model-specific features such as a resin 2.1-gallon fuel tank, dedicated suspension and ECU settings, an 18-inch rear wheel and plastic hand guards.

      Was just talking about this the other day. There is no full size/small displacement 4stroke dirt bike. My girl is on her crf125fb but she is an adult. I wish I could put her engine in a 125 2 stroke chassis.

    My only complaint about your guys vids for off-road bikes is lack of east coast type terrain. Obviously it’s difficult to go all the way over here just for a review. Would be cool to get some feedback on the closest thing u west coast guys have to us.

    The gearing works great for wide open trails. I had the 2019 450rx and it was the same issues. Twitchy steering that wanted to dive down and constant clutch pull in single track. Was a blast if the trails opened up and you could fly through everything.

    Very cool! I picked up the 2022 CRF450R-S to go with the TM Racing EN300ES 2 stroke, and I'm building it with Red Moto accessories with an XPR Pro Racing engine package - pretty much the same as Motoconcepts Honda engines, but tailored for GNCC, GP's, & H&H's. These Hondas are something else for fun factor...my last 4 stroke was a brand new 2016 Yamaha YZ250FX with GYTR parts and modded engine...I really enjoy the Honda & TM Tacing more than the Yamaha, my 2020 Husky TPI 2 stroke I sold, and that ole Suzuki RMZ-250 that still holds the keys to my heart. These are straight up FUN Racing machines...it is hard to beat the fun factor of the "big reds" and zippy "Carolina blues." 💪

      @@dregsta I’m sorry but all Honda did was add a side-stand and softened the suspension from a motocross bike. It’s not a proper trail bike if you truly ride slow technical trails. 1st and 2nd need to be very close ratio while 3-5 is identical to mx. Where’s 6th gear? Try this. In 1st gear, ride as slow as you can . The bike should not flame out if it’s a true trail bike.

    It's a beautiful motocross bike with a big ugly tank. It's not really worthy of it's own model designation without an offroad gearbox. Personally I'd get the R for the better ergo's since the R tank costs more than the 18" wheel. (Good job on the video though).

    I’m interested in this bike. I’m 225lbs. Am I too heavy for it? Interested in the nimbleness everyone speaks of. I’m Currently on 2017kx450. Yes I know I will loose hp but I am a vet (old dog) but still like to ride fast.

    • @jonathondavis170
      @jonathondavis170 2 роки тому +3

      No one is ever too heavy! :) I was a heavyweight contender for kick boxing & MMA @ 245-305lbs and was riding my 2016 YZ250FX until the wheels fell off! All you gotta do is get the suspension revalved and purchase/install new springs etc. with a trusted suspension specialist nearby. This is an excellent choice for fun riding!!! I've now owned Suzuki, Husqvarna, TM Racing, Yamaha, and Honda...the 22 Honda CRF450R-S and 2019 TM Racing EN300ES 2t have been the BEST bikes I've ever owned...but don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed every brand, and the 2020 Husqvarna was really slick - just nothing can beat the feeling I get when riding these two machines...my TM engine is maxed out and has more horsies than my stock CRF450R (but that will change when XPR ENGINES builds it up here this summer). Both of these machines show top level race engineering, and make me feel like Ken Roczen, Stu Baylor, Destry Abbott and all the above! lol
      Definitely get that machine! Got to test ride the 22' CRF250RX when I picked up the 2022 CRF450R-S (which is the torquey twin pipe platform from 2020)...it was a killer machine, but I wanted to go up in displacement because I've been on small displacement bikes for years before getting this 300cc 2 stroke and 450cc 4 stroke...that 250RX was only in the showroom for 3 days in North Seattle...now all of the Honda race bikes are sold out! I'm so glad I got mine in time! Don't wait on it. lol I think you'd be very surprised with the agility of this machine!!!

    The R and the RX have the exact same engine and performance… identical…. The only difference is a bigger fuel tank.. and a kickstand as well as a softer suspension…. But these 2 bikes have the exact same power…. The R isn’t faster… other than the fact it’s slightly lighter than the rx because of the fuel tank and kickstand…

    This bike is a pain in the rear end in the tight stuff, refuses to lug down without stalling, its too snappy and breaks traction, suspension is too stiff so it deflects off of everything. Rather buy something Euro or atleast a YZ250X.

      IMO there's nothing inherently superior to a hydro clutch. I've ridden bikes with both, although most of my seat time in the last few years has been with a cable clutch. I prefer the feel of a well maintained cable setup if I have the choice.

      @@rogermty1971 I ride a YZ250X, and I find the maintenance on my cable clutch likely takes a total of less than an hour per year, so negligible. It's a 1 finger pull so that's not an issue. I just like the feel better. I can feel exactly what it's doing, where it's engaging, I can feel when it's getting overheated etc. Just my preference.
