I'm glad they're doing something but all I want is a kdx300. E start, headlight, wide ratio, big tank. 2 stroke. Or an updated 200. Or the same 200 they used to make.
Most likely they would have to be TPI and they will not ever build 2 stroke bikes like that again. KTM/Husky/Sherco/Beta - the BETA RR200 is the bike if you want a 200 (for a 300 get a KTM/Husky)
DBM is so stoked that Kawi built a closed course off road bike to compete with the YZ250FX that they took it straight to a motocross track. 🙄 Put it in the woods where it belongs, it’s not built to blast berms
@@Whospitonmypillow5658 actually it is built for berms, lets be honest it's just the mx bike not a true cross country bike like the yz250fx or 250xcf. MX mapping and MX transmission means it's gunna suck in single trail and not have a high enough top speed to keep up in the open stuff compared to other wide ratio bikes it's an even weaker effort than the crf250rx
@@tcmx712 yea I kind of agree with you but where I’m from (Buffalo NY) most people up here just do weekend wood trails around the area. And from talking to a lot of other riders on the east coast that’s what most of them do too. And I feel like this fairly new bike class that includes the xc, fx and rx bikes are exactly what we are looking for. Not totally cross country bikes and not totally moto bikes. We want something that is close to motocross bikes but tweaked a little bit for messing around in the trails. Taking these types of bikes to the track would be fine to as long as your not trying to become pro or anything... if I was totally 100% into single track enduro riding I’d get a ktm xc-w or something like that. If I was totally 100% into motocross obviously get a full out moto bike. The xc, fx and rx are for guys like me who kind of want a moto bike feel on the trails.. Also, what makes you think the fx is a full blown cross country bike? Because they made the gearing wider? Some riders like tighter gearing in tight trails.. I’m in the market for one of these bikes and one of the reasons why I like the kawi is because it seems to be the closest to the motocross version and that’s what I want.
@@SalamiCheeks i agree with everything you said mate but the 250rx and 250x are more moto orientated and wouldn't work as well in tight single trail. To be specific the fx and xcf bikes don't have wide ratio boxes they are semi-close unlike the wr's wide ratio, so in the yz250fx 1st gear is shorter than the yz250f so it's better for technical and rocky crawl sections, 2nd 3rd and 4th are the same so you'll have that tight gearing through flowy single sections and 5th is alot taller which works in the wide open alot better. Mx bikes have a really tall 1st gear hence why they overheat and stall heaps in single trail whilst killing the clutch. To me it looks like the kx250x and crf250rx are 3/4 moto - 1/4 offroad whereas the yz250fx and 250xcf are a 50/50 split like a "proper" cross country bike should be. I see what your saying about wanting an mx style bike in the woods but I believe the kx could've been closer to the 50/50 mark
Just some insight on the larger tank for these. 19-20 450f oversized tanks fit this bike. Otherwise IMS released the oversized tank specifically for this bike about a month ago.
The one area where these are lacking is the transmission. The yzfx gives you a 6 speed transmission which makes it way more versatile. The Honda and Kawasaki give you an 18 inch rear wheel and that’s pretty much it.
Fuel tank, wide ratio transmission, LIGHTING - FAN KIT (KTM/Husky) has all of these in a 250 and 350. Thinking I would get the 350 but I am a 2 stroke guy.
Would you suggest dropping the clamps and bringing forks up? Mine dives too much in front as well. Putting more weight towards back was wondering if it would help me?
I'm from enduro, I wanted to start on motocross with this xc250 but they told me it was weak for motocross, but I think about her so I don't have to totally abandon the trails, subject me to kx250f or Kx250xc?
Coool...I can buy an $8500 plus tax, license, dealer set up and freight, THEN buy a spark arrester, hand guards, fuel tank, body protection bike all for $11,500! Our sport is dying because nobody can afford that! The manufacturers are pricing people out. Then add another $1500-2500 for gear. Let’s hope you have a paid for truck, and that you don’t have to drive 3-4 hours each way just to ride. And let’s not talk about repairs, rebuilds, reliability and longevity...
I bought a full set of gear for $500. You don't have to buy the most expensive thing(s) to get in to riding. Also, you don't have to run a bigger tank. Hand guards are $50. Spark Arrestor is the bad part of the deal. Literally everything you just complained about is solvable for significantly less than you said though. Lastly, you don't have to buy a brand new bike to get into the sport! :o
You don't need a fully lifted V8 4x4 truck to haul your bike. I have a Nissan frontier 2wd manual that hauls my bike & Banshee wherever I want. Track, trails, dunes, my truck does it all.

You can but you will have to put one foot down on the ground at a time. You will not be able to put both feet on the ground at a time. My girlfriend rides a ktm 250 xcf and she's 5'5.
I have a 2018 KX250F set up the same as this new KX250X, the transmission's not much fun in the woods but other than that the bike rocks. Especially with the white map chip in it. That being said I'm only 5'-7 1/2 and I can get a foot down pretty easily, so I think you'd be okay with the height. If not you can always shave a little foam in the seat.
everybody knows the 350 is the only 4 stroke engine worth buying for XC. If you refuse to bring a 200/250/300 2 stroke then at least be the 4 stroke KING! Totally looking forward to Next month's unveiling of a new dual sport and adventure bike.

They ALWAYS do that. 100% lame. They don't understand the market...who's buying and for what
Because there are already 100 other vids of these bikes in the woods, this vid is unique and exactly what I was looking for
Nice review ! Looking forward to the build video !
glad to see the green back out there
Put it in the woods and see what it does not on a fast flowing outdoor race track same thing you guys did with the 450x
