Such a beautiful talented actress. She had so much. Such a tragedy. People need to wake up and see that depression is a serious illness and that it needs aggressive treatment. God bless Elizabeth.
I’ve read more about this wonderful lady and can sympathize with her troubles because I suffer from the same mental issues. Being an artist I know how it feels to be scared of success when you land or publish something. Can I do it again? Am I good enough? This can easily spill over into the real world-that, what they call, fine line between artistry and madness (?). I can relate to her daydreaming, idealistic personality, and her loneliness. Godbless you Ms. Hartman. You’re loved more than you know
Elizabeth Hartman did an amazing job portraying Pauline Pusser, Its so sad that she died the way she did. Its no telling how long she was hurting inside.
Elizabeth Hartman was a superior actress and a lovely human being. She has been greatly missed! So nice to see the cast speaking so sweetly about her. Still such a loss after all these years. Miss you Elizabeth.
In 1966, Elizabeth Hartman played a super sexy model in one of the greatest films from the era we called, "The Swingin' Sixties." I was a teenager of sixteen then, and the film was made by a totally unknown director named Francis Ford Coppola. She played a man-eating sociopath who used her sexual attraction to lure men into her web of wackiness. Quite the opposite of who she really was. But I was so mesmerized by her incredible performance that I actually found the film on Amazon and immediately bought the DVD, which I'm actually watching now. I truly believe that she was one of the most gifted actors of her generation, but sadly suffered so much for what we now know as bipolar disease, or manic depression. I remember the day she committed suicide in her New York apartment as though it were only yesterday, and I felt as though I lost a friend... in fact, it saddens me still. What a loss. RIP now, Elizabeth Hartman.
Elizabeth Hartman was intelligent actress depression is very scary I know Robin Williams had same thing I feel sorry for Hollywood stars getting depression very bad
Robin Williams seemed to be in a different situation, though. He was forgetting a lot of his lines and thought he was starting to slip into some mental condition like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's Disease.
Just watched Patch of Blue last night and fell in love with Elizabeth Hartman once again. I only recall seeing her in The Beguiled and Walking Tall, have to look into You're a Big Boy Now, etc. When I was looking for photos I noticed one of the search titles was "Elizabeth Hartman Suicide", when I realized it was true I was crushed....I had no idea what she went through, such a shame. Unfortunately another favorite actress did the same - Gene Tierney.
Suicide is the ultimate sin if successful God will not forgive that which means eternity in hell so no she's definitely not in a better place she's in a world of pain n torment sorry but that's facts it's in the Bible
@@QueBall5235 that's the thing about much of the Bible. they are not facts. it's based on faith and unlike the Koran, which Muslims believe is the direct word of God, many Christians and theologians think the Bible can be up for interpretation.
Wow it's hard to believe anybody can be that shallow but hay how bout you argue that with your maker when your standing in your judgment at st Peter n the pearly gates you enjoy that torment
the theme for walking tall was never it in johnny mathis i got a copy of the song on 45 rpm it was not for sale for radio use only waking tall was a real story
It's too bad Elizabeth died prematurely and never became a mother. Her life was hollow and depressing, not receiving the love and respect she deserved, as well as losing her father right as her career toke off.
Go see a Patch Of Blue.Hartman plays a blind woman who is befriended by Sidney Poitier.Shelly Winters I believe won Best Suporting Actress as Hartman’s terrible mother.
She did an amazing job. In patch of blue
Elizabeth Hartman was a true artist. She didn’t just portray people in film. She brought them to life in film. She was truly great.
RIP Elizabeth Hartman 😢💔🙏🏼
Loved Walking Tall as well! Sad she left us so young.
Such a beautiful talented actress. She had so much. Such a tragedy.

Dan Miller what exactly do you want them to do when they “wake up”
She was amazing, and its usually those type of people who don't think their worth much. Let's shows all people they are worth a lot.

Right dates, wrong people.
This makes me so sad. I wish she knew that all these years later people would still be thinking about her, remembering her.
So beautiful he uses present tense. Love is never past tense, folks. Well done.
God bless Elizabeth Hartman, an angel and great actress, beautiful.

Suicide is tragic and self murder. It's sad to hear that she took her life.
She chose her own end something most of us dont have the guts for
I wish that I could have helped her.
Is that Dawn Lyn (Dwana) at 1:30
Yes
I believe God is merciful. She was troubled. I hope she's in a better place.
She is in a better place now. But she got there before the Lord was ready for her.
