Please post more, my grandparents are from Selmer, Tn McNairy County, they were friends of Buford Pusser, so this is part of me, their memories they left to me about this place will always be with me!! I still have family that lives there!!
I've owned two of those Chevrolet's, both of them were 66 Caprice with 427, and some old dude with a 72 Ford LTD with 429 ate both of mine alive. Man that dude sucked the doors off both my Chevy's!!
@@keithclark486 In the late '60s, early '70s NASCAR series', 429 Cobra Jet based cars would have GM rat powered cars for lunch on the long tracks, if the 427s could live past go time. Just so you know, and I'm old enough to remember.
several cars outrun sheriff pusser back in the day,he went to the adamsville high school one morning and took a couple sets of keys from two boys who outrun him the night before between adamsville and selmer, one in a 69 ss chevelle and the other in a 69 pontiac gran prix, sheriff pusser was quite a fan of local street racing back in the day and knew both cars well.both those young fellows rode the bus home that evening.
I gotta tell you, this is one good video, I'd love to see more, just to prove my intent I'm gonna sub, leave a thumbs up and a click on the bell. I'm a retired auto mechanic and I can build a car just as good as the ones in this video if not better and faster. An old saying in some of my circles, "Speed costs money, how fast you wanna go"? It's true, my friend. I hope to see more of your videos. Thank's for sharing.
Liquor money bought my first car ...it was a 73' Chevy ....it was a land barge and factory slow cuz they made weak to "conserve fuel" which ironic cuz the 454 in it sucked the fuel.....didnt take long and i had a fine sleeper tho .....wow folks didnt see it coming
Whatever stories can be told about Bufford Pusser true or false. The sad ironery to it all is that life's we're lost on both sides. Good and bad. Blood and death came for them all. And the victims family's were left to weep and bury the dead. So right or wrong there is no glory in dying in a manner that they did. Legend or myth. Dying is dying.
Can't tell from the old footage, but is that Caprice running a Cross-Ram intake?? Looks like I see two carbs/ air cleaners sticking through the hood but not inline. Second question: Who wrote the script and why was the film never released?
Why have I never seen this. A friend just sent it to me. The impala and caprice was so underrated after 64. The chevelle 396 from 65 took over. Now for the friend who sent me here. Lol. In from 1975 - 1980. I had a 66 impala 396 4 speed bench seat car till state of texas took it from me. And housed me for short time. Texas coors beer was illegal in Oklahoma. I had family did shine running out knoxville. ( actually lil place called Kingston tn) fell in with some ole boys and. After we were street racing around dfw on fri sat nights. We would loaded beer ( do you know how big the trunk of a 65 66 caprice impala is. Lol) and we would run to Atoka ok. At this time there was nothing but dairy farms north of dfw. Some nights we ran up to 82 cut to 377 come in from the west. I had family in madil or 75 either or. If you ever get chance to ride in a 66 impala 396 on open hwy till you think you here the rods stretching. You'll know why I'm saying it. Lol. Then other stuff got ran but for long time mine and 3 others out ran everything police had. Lol. Then one day it all ended. Lol. Man wish I had that car now. Ty for that vid. Many many memories.
In Augusta, Georgia I had an old, black, grey market 6.9 liter Mercedes sedan that would upshift from second gear at 98 MPH under full throttle. On I-20 going through Taliaferro County on my way to Warner-Robins I passed a cruiser with county colors a couple of times while doing between 135-145 MPH without breathing hard, the cop didn't even try to chase me either time. God I miss that Eurosleeper...
yea like them old Mercury cougars hide away head lights v8 fine machinery.my uncle I used to spend warm months with had a couple of old cars like that.
Believe me when I say this, Buford Pusser was more involved in the whiskey stills than trying to get rid of them, don't believe half that was told in these films and only a fraction that was seen!!! The syndicate played a big hand!!
Yeah a lot of people don't realize cars like that there's a reason they destroyed them cop cars today couldn't get within 20 ft of a rear bumper what's a skilled driver behind the wheel
Hmmm, well you no boy I don't think I ever did see I pile of shit rollin down a kiddie slide, and I don't think I want to.... its ah video huckleberry, you get it right.......
God this sucked!! Here on the Larry Price channel, the song - about Larry Price - just warbles on, over and over. That’ll teach me to watch a short video about Buford Pusser.

What was the police car in this video? Looks like an LTD, not sure though
Larry Price This can't be Buford Pusser's actual patrol car. This car in the video is a 1972 Ford. Buford left office in September of 1970.
Ha, ha, ha ! Price was caught in the act !
