I like this version the best. Clint is cruel and sly underneath his oily charm.
Pretty entertaining film. One of my favorites underrated Clint Films. Next to Misty.

Clever little child picking poisonous mushrooms acting like they are fine to eat like nothing is wrong. Saw this for the first time last night and I must say it's a very good film and yes it's been out a long time but never heard of this movie. Great film though and it's very rare these days I enjoy a film but this was class.
It was remade by Sofia Coppola (also called The Beguiled) in 2017, with (Colin Farrell, Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning). You should watch it to compare the two.

The actors were much more interesting than in the later version.

This movie scared the living daylights out of me as a six-year-old when it came out on T.V. after a couple years. What were my parents thinking, that I wouldn't remember or have nightmares?

I remember watching this scene as a little girl. Felt horribly scared and never forgot. Well, I recently saw the 2017 movie and only then I could figure out the meaning of it all. Now I'm finally at rest...😅
