Here's a tl;dr for 999 versions. If you want the best overall experience, with quality-of-life conveniences such as voice acting and the ability to jump to any point in the story you have already unlocked, play the PC port. If you want to experience the original vision for the game, all culminating in one of the biggest metaphorical bombshells in gaming history, play the DS version. Personally, I recommend you play the PC port, and then watch a video of the ending on the DS version once you've completed the game. But that's just me.
I HIGHLY recommend playing *999* on DS, as opposed to the remasters on PC/Vita. And in my eyes, it's a must play. Also, if you like puzzle sections in adventure games, *Theresia* is just great!
MultiTarded There is a particular moment in the game (that I won't spoil), which works on dual screen far better than on single screen. And it's a pretty important one.
That bit you're talking about is definitely better in the DS game, but overall I absolutely think the PC version is the way to go. Not only do you not have to start from the beginning every time you want to get a different ending, but the voice acting is excellent and the new sprites are sublime. And the soundtrack is not nearly so compressed. I loved the hell out of the DS version but I don't think I'll revisit it since getting the Nonary Games version

999 was phenomenal. I could hardly put it down. Virtue's Last Reward was mind blowing, and Zero Time Dilemma was a good enough end to the series. Amazing trilogy and franchise.

999 is an absolute masterpiece. It should be the highest-rated game on DS. Within a few hours of starting it, I knew it was going to be something very special. It cemented its position on my list of all-time favourites.
It's a great game, but I wouldn't call it underrated considering it received massive praise from critics and fans, and I remember seeing ads for it everywhere around the time of release.
I agree with the last one, 999 is such a great game that it spawned two sequels, Virtue's Last Reward and Zero Time Dilemma(which both of them can be found on the DS successor, the 3DS and in other platforms too). It's a shame that 999 didn't release on Europe officially until the Steam remake.
The best thing about Dementium 1 and 2, they both got "enhanced" ports; the first a CPP compatible port on the 3DS eShop, and the second, an "HD" port on PC and several other platforms.
I got Dementium II back when I was still writing about games. It sticks out in my head, because I got a press kit that was essentially an earthquake preparedness kit, and a note telling me to enjoy the game, and that they weren't expecting a review, because it had come out over a year prior. It was very strange, but I guess it worked, since I still remember it 7 years later.
Was glad to see the shining recommendations you gave Strange Journey and 999, both of which are amazing. I'm also now interested in picking up Theresia, good video!

SonButters It graphics are about the level of Nintendo 64's graphics which almost every game on it is 3D. Not many developers took advantage of the DS's 3D capabilities which is unfortunate because I loved it's blocky style.
Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is such an underrated gem, glad you mentioned it, and Last Window: The Secret of Cape West its sequel is just as amazing if not better with its puzzles, altho I think it was only released over here in Europe as the producer company went bust
First time watching one of your videos; I liked it! Note: the true ending of 9-9-9 only comes through playing the game to completion multiple times. And it’s worth the effort!
I love that there’s another video game UA-camr out there with an 8 bit intro. I haven’t heard one of those in a solid 10 minutes! Thanks for being so unique man!
What i find funny is most of the M rated DS games are horror games, but no i would say the atmosphere and theme the Dementium games had is what would give it the M rating not the gore and such as they are actually really great horror games. Though what is more impressive is not that there are 11 DS games rated M outside of Japan but games such as CoD and others were rated T yet there is not really a difference between the console version of CoD and the DS

Finally youtube recommends me something good, you just earned one more subscriber.
Same in 2019
Would you believe Deadly Silence was is the only way I've played the first Resident Evil game? Got me through many a study hall.
it's a great port
I just love how Nintendrew’s intro is just him flexing his Nintendo collection.
Loved this video, earned a sub! 999 is one of my favorite games on ds. One of the best experiences I've ever had in games
Damn those Dementium games look really awesome!
I actually have dementium I got it around grade 6 (bout 7 years ago) when my buddy first acquired it I never played a horror game prior and dementium gave me the spooks I only got to where I was because nothing is scary when you have an action replay
I can’t wait for the m rated and adult games on the switch like Kirby does his taxes deluxe
Hotel Dusk is amazing and I'm playing through it right now lmao!
Same, it's an underrated gem.
QuixoticCataclysm last window is the sequel to hitel dusk
QuixoticCataclysm Oh my god. I literally bought that game years ago my favorite ds game of all time.
QuixoticCataclysm my sister loves that Game
I love it so much
Thank you so much for getting me to play 999 and the zero escape series as a whole
Yay! The good ending!
999 is great, I've completed it three times and has an intriguing story line.
dude some of these seem rad. can't believe i didn't know about like 90 percent of them. great video!!!
I actually think the 3D on the original DS was pretty decent!
SonButters It graphics are about the level of Nintendo 64's graphics which almost every game on it is 3D. Not many developers took advantage of the DS's 3D capabilities which is unfortunate because I loved it's blocky style.
Modern 8-bit ya true that most games didn’t make a 3D world I like how instead it made a hybrid of 2d spites and 3DS renderings
the graphics are about the level of PS1's graphics.
Closer to PS1. The texture glitches look identical to what the psone had. It has to do with the perspective correction with the textures.
metroid prime hunters looks really good
Subbed and clicked the bell icon within the first two minutes. Informative, fresh, entertaining content. Can't wait to see more!
Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks for the great content!
Was so happy to see Theresia! I loved that game so much.
That game is amazing, I wish we got the second one on the app store though
I kinda want to get most if not all these games on the list, for collection and playing for fun purposes! Also, I only own one game on this list, 999.
Only 46k subs? Let’s get this man to 100k
Damn 46k only a year ago. 220k now, keep it up man!
I love that there’s another video game UA-camr out there with an 8 bit intro. I haven’t heard one of those in a solid 10 minutes! Thanks for being so unique man!
maybe say the fudging name rather than comment about how much you LoOOOoOoOoOve it
fudging p(r)ick
*HELL YEAH* Just saw that SMT: Strange Journey is gettin' a Redux version for 3DS!
I love Dementium with a passion
Wow, so the first two M rated games to ever release I had day 1 lol. Never knew there was only 11
Man, I loved Dementium! But you're right, the hospital setting is almost comically inhospitable. It reminds me of the setting of The Suffering.
Rated M for
Most enjoyable
I love how this guy has a liste of m rated games and obscure ones and doesn’t consider any of the cod ds games 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lara Stredie They were rated T though
SLMtiger 4 ohh you’re right! I take back what I said then
Lara Stredie It’s good. I just knew that because I still have the cases for them lol. Probably more profitable to make them T rated on the DS
SLMtiger 4 lol yeah true
Hmm, I mistakenly thought
Flower, Sun and Rain would've been on this list. Turns out it's actually rated T!
Same goes for the Devil Survivor games.
Theresia is an awesome game
I wish more people would talk about it
This channel deserves a bigger following
It finally earned another one in me yesterday.
I found myself actively looking for his videos so I subscribed after watching about 20 of his videos over the last months :P
999
Is a masterpiece! I can't believe how good of a game it is with a crazy story with so many twists and turns you'll want to play it multiple times, because that's the only way to get the true ending. It's soooo good!!!
Lmao literally played deadly silence this morning, it's hilarious.
I almost bought that game, but picked Sims Pets lol.
(I do have Revelations for 3DS though, so it's not a huge loss I guess. Might pick it up if it's still there next time I go.)
@@chaossmith3864 Don't you mean Revelaitons? If you get the reference you get nothing (at least I'm being honest).
@@hudde814 Honestly confused. x3 That's... what I put?
Shauna Smith revelations was originally released as revelaitons on the 3ds
Dementium is so damn good. As is the sequel.
Nintendrew, great video, I subscribed, and I think me and a hanfull of people would enjoy watching a let's play of the last game on the list (999) 😊 Thank you!
A lot of those games look pretty cool. I've been on the lookout for GTA Chinatown Wars,
Retro Patronum Cool! I hope you find it! Im on the lookout for "7 Grand Dad Sports Resort Deluxe" for the Virtual Boy!
Retro Patronum If you have an iOS or Android device, there is a mobile version of Chinatown Wars, as well as a few other GTA games that can be had for a few bucks each.
It was in tescos two years ago
I know the GameStop around me has China wars
Dementium 1+2 both have remasters on the 3ds eShop.
Refreshingly succinct video, thank you
This video is the reason I’m now collecting these games thank you
