He put the artifact for charging in the wrong place, the engine is in the back, that's where you need to put the artifact for charging. By the way, this is not the original engine for this car, there is a compact V4 in the original, and this one is already reassembled using stalker technologies.
They even made the inspection animations. So much work went into little things, it's clear that someone rushed them to release the game in the current unfinished state. If this was just a lazy cash grab you wouldn't have all those easy to miss encounters and side stories.
It literally wasn't rushed you buffon, issues come in complex games by the waves because you don't truly know how a game will behave on other people's computers by default. Each and all games ahd bugs and issues until they got fixed.
I put over 90 hours on before finally putting it down. My life was nonexistent. And even with all those hours I was still finding more and more unique dialogue and interactions and off the path quests and unmarked events. It's absolutely nuts how much stuff you can find.

I spent a good 5 minutes jumping from a barrel onto a wire fence to then sprint jump onto the porch of a house to get on it's roof. The devs placed a beer in the chimney hehe.

Locations (like Darkscape, a road between Cordon and Dark Valley) and cars were ready and would be implemented into the plot, but THQ told developers to release the game as fast as they can(it should have been released in 2005, but they keep delaying it till 2007), so they had to scrap the idea completely. You can still drive them in Builds tho, and in mods like Oblivion Lost Remake or Lost Alpha.

@@radosfpvit's delaying the hunger. At first you don't want to eat and then want more. But it's a game so this effect introduced for balance reasons. Also if you find good endurance artifact, you could run pretty long way.
i personaly use the batery for its fast start but iin adition i changet the supsencion whit a spring artifact (пружина) so it drives as smooth as butter cuts in summer
I wonder if this might be a soft reference to Pacific Drive, a game that features an anomalous station wagon and takes place in what is pretty much an American equivalent of the Zone? Likely stretching hard there to the point of risking pulling a muscle.
Maybe its a reference for previous game, where you could find cars but can’t ride them. They wanted to have a car pursuit mission but they gave up on the idea and left the cars in the game. You can find one in The Forest area
You had to put the artifact on the hood (at the back) and wait 30 minutes of real time for the car to charge up. Then it will work and you will be able to make quick movements between locations.
You could in lost alpha/oblivion lost too, darkscape was originally supposed to be apart of a helicopter chase transition level from cordon to dark valley in the original plans for SOC. They scrapped it tho so that’s why it was put into lost alpha

Just stumble across this video from my recommended, literally about an hour ago while I am playing, I am between Yaniv station and the Red Forest near the Conjoined Wagons location, and I heard what I can only describe as a car crash sound effect that lasted 3 or 4 seconds. I would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this?
I'm guessing it's from the wagons. I've come across what looks like a few car accidents in game and if you turn volume up the 1st time you are near its like it plays the audio of "what happened"

Modders' next assignment Edit: Mod Authors/Creators, if you're reading this, please make sure the car has an "anomaly scanner" screen of up to 1 km or 1 mile or something. I actually enjoyed driving around in Anomaly and G.A.M.M.A. but what sucked is the Vortex anomaly literally sucking me in, completely wrecking my car and dying from the explosions in the process. Also, make it an upgrade addon thing like needing to find a Svarog or Veles Detector in order to enable the upgrade. Gotta make it a challenge in order for the upgrade to make it worth something.

I think that's a bit of self-irony from GSC here. Back in the era of the OG stalker games there were promises to introduce cars. There were a lot of promises like realistic physics, realistic handling, manual gearbox player would have to control, trunk to store everything you found, lots of varieties of cars available and so on. Yet, it never came. Funny enough, people found lines of code for the vehicles, yet it was really bugged out. Some of the global mods actually included drivable vehicles in the game. In STALKER 2, however, I think devs didn't even tried to implement drivable vehicles because eventually STALKER turned into a game about walking.
Lines of code? We have builds with fully functioning vehicles, and it was the worst driving physics I've ever seen, and that includes Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing
@BottomOfTheDumpsterFire I mean yeah, modders used those pieces of code to have an actual working vehicles (and as far as I can remember APC in Shadow of Chernobyl was driveable if you manage to get near to it and get inside), but yeah, in most of those mods driving physics was pretty bad and cars were pretty bugged
@@KnightRaven Iam repairing all my gear in the Cordon(Rookie Village). Iam not using pistol or a secondary weapon. But iam rocking with a fully upgraded Kharod with an underbarrel shotgun, and a fully upgraded PSZ-9N Wolfhound. Iam always aiming to fix the gear around 85%. Costs me 15k together for repairs. Yes, not 6k but you get the point.
@@KnightRaven Kharod and Dnipro is the best weapons in this game. You can use both for long/short range, not too bad repair costs, ammo is cheap and you can find it everywhere especially for Dnipro, but Kharod edges it out, since you can attach the underbarrel shotgun, so you dont need a secondary weapon + that shotgun shells are also cheap and very common ohh and you dont need to repair it(or maybe yes, never checked it actually). For the armor, i dont like the Exoskeletons its so expensive to repair and upgrade. Also i got a SEVA suit in case i venture into anomalies for artifact hunting. Not a fully upgraded SEVA suit, its a stock one. Damn the 5000+ hours in the STALKER trilogy kicked in this game for me. xD I was so OP since start of the game. Its just so inceridbly easy if you played a lot with the Stalker series before this one. You know the map well, you know which weapons are good, which ammunition type is common, etc etc. So many things.
I didn't buy the car, came back to them a couple of days later and they became hostile at about 100 meters. In general, everything ended the same way as in this video. 🤣

This engine is so much wrong for this car (zaporozhets), original engine must be a V4 air cooled. The vacuum booster of the break pedal looks silly in the trunk. And where is the gear box? With this type of engine the gearbox is in the ass of the rear passenger, i guess.

i love stalker games for such a side stories and random encounters. developers did a great job.
I know they want us walking this entire game but it's perfect for little small cars. This game is going to be incredible in a year after mod support.

Putting artifact in the rear actually "eats" your artifact. It falls under the hood and you can't open it.
The original stalker was meant to have a driveable vehicle. It was in the lost alpha or something (you can try it out). It was a blue Lada, like this.
It's not LADA, it's ua "zapor" (Zaporozhye, worst car in USSR).

There are working vehicles, the Wards have a few. They just dont have function for the player.

I think that's a bit of self-irony from GSC here. Back in the era of the OG stalker games there were promises to introduce cars. There were a lot of promises like realistic physics, realistic handling, manual gearbox player would have to control, trunk to store everything you found, lots of varieties of cars available and so on. Yet, it never came.
Funny enough, people found lines of code for the vehicles, yet it was really bugged out. Some of the global mods actually included drivable vehicles in the game. In STALKER 2, however, I think devs didn't even tried to implement drivable vehicles because eventually STALKER turned into a game about walking.
Lines of code? We have builds with fully functioning vehicles, and it was the worst driving physics I've ever seen, and that includes Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing
@BottomOfTheDumpsterFire I mean yeah, modders used those pieces of code to have an actual working vehicles (and as far as I can remember APC in Shadow of Chernobyl was driveable if you manage to get near to it and get inside), but yeah, in most of those mods driving physics was pretty bad and cars were pretty bugged

@@KnightRaven Iam repairing all my gear in the Cordon(Rookie Village). Iam not using pistol or a secondary weapon. But iam rocking with a fully upgraded Kharod with an underbarrel shotgun, and a fully upgraded PSZ-9N Wolfhound. Iam always aiming to fix the gear around 85%. Costs me 15k together for repairs. Yes, not 6k but you get the point.
That’s probably the best way to do it, I checked and it looks like they nerfed the incredible repair costs also
@@KnightRaven Kharod and Dnipro is the best weapons in this game. You can use both for long/short range, not too bad repair costs, ammo is cheap and you can find it everywhere especially for Dnipro, but Kharod edges it out, since you can attach the underbarrel shotgun, so you dont need a secondary weapon + that shotgun shells are also cheap and very common ohh and you dont need to repair it(or maybe yes, never checked it actually). For the armor, i dont like the Exoskeletons its so expensive to repair and upgrade. Also i got a SEVA suit in case i venture into anomalies for artifact hunting. Not a fully upgraded SEVA suit, its a stock one. Damn the 5000+ hours in the STALKER trilogy kicked in this game for me. xD I was so OP since start of the game. Its just so inceridbly easy if you played a lot with the Stalker series before this one. You know the map well, you know which weapons are good, which ammunition type is common, etc etc. So many things.
