Nice video Robbo...on your XTNG did you do the external venting mod (drilling into the carb casing) and choke mod ? I gave up on mine, but feel uncertain about it. I will share this in my Facebook group.😁👍
@@RobboRobinson cheers for letting me know it would be really cool if you made a video about what parts transfer over from ktm man there’s not a lot of information about these bikes and me included most of the people with these bikes are beginners and don’t have a huge mechanical knowledge ur channel is really helpful though thanks
@ there’s a lot conjecture about which parts fit from KTM particularly on the engine. In engine parts I would always use the gpx oem parts then there’s no risk of variables. Besides they are cheaper as well. GPX UK have the stuff usually in stock. OEM Parts can also be found on AliExpress like clutch packs, pistons & cylinders , stators and much more with good delivery times.
In the previous video he said that he was doing it early whilst he had time so that he didn't have to do it mid season when all he'll have time to do is ride, watch the previous video for info about piston condition
Not unless it’s knocking 😂 I expect at least 200hrs plus on this engine provided I run good 2 stroke oil (fully synthetic) and air filters are kept clean. In comparison I had to do a complete rebuild on my 2019 TPi at around 220hrs as it was knocking a little.
Great Teacher - enjoying myself to learn and being more confident doing the upcoming Service Tasks for Longevity❤

No, xtng came with the blanked std choke and the new fuel assist screw choke fitted. Pull the spring loaded fuel assist screw half a turn for choke.
What piston did you put in it is it a ktm vertex piston or is it a gpx oem one?
OEM GPX piston and nearly half the price of KTM Vertex. £100
@ do you know if you can use the ktm vertex one I just bought one and was wondering what options you have
@ I believe they are identical other than the markings on the top. Oem says A or B on top where vertex gives exact size. Like 71.93mm.

Why are you changing a top end at 50hrs? Seems very low... How did the old piston measure up?

@@arthurstudley50 Thanks mate, missed that one :-)
Does the GPX TSE300 come with radiator guards or were those an aftermarket guard? Thanks.
After market ones. Standard are the plastic louvres like KTM.
Hi Robbo, do you change the conrod and crankshaft bearings after two pistons?

Does it require timing adjustment after changing the piston?
