- The journey continues with the GPX TSE 250R making it possible to take on the hardest conditions. A few small inexpensive mods to make it more robust and also a few tips and tricks to make this cheap Chinese dirt bike suit your needs. Hydraulic clutch & Alloy Skid plate best mods so far and
some footage from a recent ride at Cowm Quarry.
Cracking vid, one mod you might want to make is remove the hose on the cylinder head that comes out of the head and goes back into the head without connecting to anything. This fitting is to connect to the carb to act as a heater for the carb, it's from the base Yamaha motor fitted to the DT230, I had the same fitting on my DT125R I removed it and plugged the holes,, just to take another worry away when you are racing the bike.
Thats mean just put the screw for those two hole?
Might be worth looking at filing the sharps off the inner part of brake pedal so it is less likely to puncture cover 👍🏻

When I done the aluminum skid on mine I had to trim the side wings but it was a different brand I believe it had taller sides. Also has to massage it into place with a large hammer.

Great video! I've got the same issue with the break pedal and the pushrod on my bike (Kamax, not GPX). I've placed washers between the pedal and the lever, but it's about 20mm too low, so need to get it up more.

@@RobboRobinson For a man of my... generous proportions it's amazing. White Hollywood drew the same complaint about my WR250R of having rear suspension like a electric bull.

Out of interest, has it been easy enough to ensure the bike?
Just on a temp policy till V5 arrives DVLA on go slow at mo. Once I get that and finalise it I'll let people know what the score is.

Just for your info I went back to a cable clutch as the hydraulic space cylinder was not reliable after dirt and jet wash contamination. Cable clutch has been no problem.

Either this bike is slow or everybody I see riding it are slow riders! does it have enough power to wheelie in the first 3 or 4 gears?
You are shifting a little too soon, you need to get a little bit more into the Power Band and higher revs. Just my opinion. I've riding dirt bikes my whole life, I've raced Motocross when I was younger, I've had three 2 - strokes and two × 4 - strokes, which one was a Yamaha XT 125, but I love the two strokes and always will, they are just more exciting than 4 strokes, and they are faster.
What bolts fit this just ktm and parts like the clutch hoses and stuff
What about extra support for shifter shaft.
Somewhere I read about a mod for the power valve that originated from Brazil. Have you seen or heard about this?
Pretty decent bike for the money. But my question is is the engine a 250 based off the 230 Yamaha or is it a 250???
It’s a 224cc bud trail bike tuned for longevity. 90hrs at mo and proving very reliable. I reckon 200hrs before a piston change.
Wish they advertised more, because I ended up buying a kayo kt 250 because I had no clue GPX existed until I started searching for parts and then I found Gpx…

Can you jump these bikes like yzf250 all like a proper entry level dirt bike or is it more just for enduro
It’s full size suspension but enduro based so a little soft for big jumps but the bike is capable if you are capable.
I bought the 10ten 250rx can’t get a sump guard have you any ideas what would fit?
Measure the internal and external width dimensions of the frame rails. It was by chance we had this skid plate in the shop at Eurotek to try for size. Let me know your dimensions they might be the same as GPX. ✊🏻

You don't even need a kickstand, not unless you plan on parking it and parking lots and a parking spot, put out on the trails riding, all you need is a tree or a wall.

@@balls7973 it’s been bloody good to fair and I’m in no rush to sell it. I did the 24hr solo race last august. I had a little crash damage to sort in the night and a broken wire but it went the distance no problem. After that it had a complete strip and deep clean bringing it back up to near mint but a few scratches. 150hrs on it at mo and no major work on the engine as yet. Just spark plug changes and gearbox oil plus usual service work mainly keeping it clean. The frame is solid as is everything else. I’ve not ridden since late October but it sat waiting ready to be used again in February.

do you recommend any amp on the batt? im having a hard time starting my gpx its cranking but wont continue so im not sure if its battery or starter motor
On the 2 stroke TSE 250 GPX a standard battery should be more than adequate. A lithium one like used on the KTM bikes gives approximately same cold cranking power. If it’s now turning over quickly you may have a starter motor issue. Sometimes when a starter motor is going bad it will spin ok when cold. Once it starts to get warm it can start to seize so spinning is slower. Will the bike start on the kicker ?
