Man, if this is 9.8 for you, then I hope your scale limit goes way beyond a 10, because you haven't seen anything yet. There are some great recommendations already mentioned here. You def need to do a live video next, they are better live, no joke.
This band is amazing in so many ways. I don't know exactly how many songs they have done? But there are over 100 and what's even more amazing is that they all sound different and they're all good! If you want to see the full potential of this band. Select a live version of the song. They are extra ordinary on stage and always have something extra for the show. You can really tell they love being on the stage. If you ask me what songs to react to. I would choose YOLO, Daydreaming, Rinne, Blooming, Wounderland and Take me higher!! But honestly, you can pick one at random and I'm pretty sure you'll like it.

Wonderful reaction. But like many others will tell you, you have no idea what you've stepped in lol. This band is phenomenal. I'm so glad you mentioned how much you liked the vocals, as most reactors, esp those who are musicians, tend to be more fascinated by the instrumentation, arrangement and songwriting. The vocals have always captured me with this band, and one thing you may not realize yet is just how versatile they are. Daydreaming, for example, is a fan-fav mid-tempo rock "ballad" that showcases a very diff type of vocals from the lead singer; it may be song you'll be interested in hearing to discover just how crazy versatile this band's sound can be.
Boy are you in for an amazing and awesome journey down the pigeon hole. They're going into their 10th year intact. Akane is the happiest drummer alive and will show you during these two LIVES from their YT channel: FREEDOM-LIVE (for an extended drum solo and one of their most FUN performances) and DOMINATION-LIVE for a quintessential Live band performance. Great reaction. You've got a new fan. I love Baby Metal too but there is a big difference with Band Maid. Baby Metal has professional song writers and session musicians backing them up. Band Maid writes their own songs and, obviously, play everything. The lead guitar player, Kanami, is the genius songwriter and the rhythm guitar/2nd vocal is the lyricist, but the others make major creative contributions. And they get better and better as they push themselves relentlessly. They're about 30 now, I can't imagine what they'll sound like at 35 or 40 or 45.. Check out one of their lives videos. Most of fans prefer by far B sides of this single to Sense. These are Corallium and Hibana.
As others have said, you will appreciate their live performances even more. The energy & stage performances are sensational. For a brilliant drum solo try "Freedom" live. An iconic live video is the "Manners/Black Hole " two for one video. It shows a side of them that you won't believe on the first listening. Yes! you will listen to it again, and again, and again.
Domination (live) next or anything live from them is another level.
They don't do bad songs. And their catalog is large.

Welcome to the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND IN THE WORLD!!!! 98% of their songs are best viewed LIVE. There are a few where the MV is better until the Ladies release a new LIVE version of those songs. Of which "Warning" is one. Car chases, explosions, beautiful women and Hard Rock, it is all in there. There are one or two others, but those are debated heavily between us Maidiacs.

Now for what I term the Band-Maid Info-Dump;
Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead.
Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition.
Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition.
Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music.
Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well)
So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance.
And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD!

Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning"
On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"...
The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited)
This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their UA-cam channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill.
Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid.
The following info is from a comment left by UA-cam user @DanW60
Thrill was from their album New Beginning which was released in November, 2015. They didn't write any of the songs or lyrics on the album and it was only 33 minutes. As mentioned, Miku didn't even know how to play guitar at the time. The album went nowhere in Japan (Charted on Oricon at #64 -Ed) and their small label called Gump was about to drop them. Gump's plan was to keep Miku and Saiki as a singing and dancing duo and let the rest go. Then a miracle happened. The music video for Thrill became a huge hit on UA-cam, especially in the west. Band-Maid was saved and they changed labels to Crown Stones (a sub-label to a really big Japanese media company called Nippon Crown). Their 2016 album, Brand New maid, peaked at #19 on the Japanese charts but only one song was written by Kanami and it was only 31 minutes in length. Finally, in January 2017, they released the album Just Bring It which was a full album at 50 minutes. More importantly, 9 of the 13 songs were written by Kanami. In my opinion, it was the first true Band-Maid album. The album got as high as #16 in Japan and also charted in the UK. The next 3 albums - World Domination, Conqueror and Unseen World - all charted top 10 in Japan and charted overseas. All the songs were written by Kanami. She is the one that has pushed Misa and Akane to be as good as they are now, and also very successfully taught Miku to play guitar.
And if you think the solo is good in this song, you REALLY need to check out "Blooming" in particular. There are other songs with just as good if not better solos, however the best in my and others opinion's no official video has been made, but there IS a fan made video, so for what many consider the BEST Kanami solo listen to "Unfair Game".
This doesn't seem like the kind of channel that sticks to one artist for any length of time, but if you do, I promise you that you are about to embark down a Pigeon Hole (yes, I said Pigeon you'll get it soon enough) that you are not ready for and didn't know that you needed.

Now you've done some of their MV's, time to try some lives, would suggest "Domination" and "Play" they are much better live!
But as to your comment at 6:32 whereas BAND-MAID has not rested on their laurels with 7 studio albums (100+ songs) so far. Unlike Baby Metal whose catalog of songs is quite sparse considering how long they've been around, to only put out 3 studio albums (40+ tracks) considering the writers and management they have is a pretty poor return for their fans. IMO
A true measure of any band is what they sound like live. I highly suggest you react to one of their live performances and then you will begin to understand just how amazingly talented this band is. Maybe something like "Real Existence" 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂
You'd think "anime band," based on the two you've heard, so far, but those are actually a bit unusual. Unleash is their own anime video/song, and Sense was created for an anime that airs in Japan. They also recorded a song called Different for a different Japanese anime. All their other tracks are just Band-Band writing and playing what they like or want to experiment with. The first few albums were written by other people. Eventually Miku (rhythm guitar) started writing the lyrics, and Kanami (lead guitar) did most of composing and arranging. On the previous track you heard, Saiki (lead vocal) wrote the lyrics. ... And, yes, nobody has a better time onstage, than the drummer, Akane. ... It's been exactly the same lineup, for nearly 10 years. ... Oh, and if this is a 9.8, they're gonna break your scale, one day.

They're touring the US in October. I think most of the shows are already sold out, but you may be able to find tickets still. I've seen videos of their live shows and it looks like so much fun.
you may find a better guitarist or drummer somewhere but you will not find a better group of total talent together
Nice! Feeling the Band Maid love! Are they not staggeringly good? Best news is you have barely scratched the surface. Of their 100+ good songs, Sense is probably the closest in sound to Unleash!!!!! as it is an actual anime opener for Platinum End. They have *much* more diversity of sound. STRONGLY recommend you try Manners/Black Hole (live) double header to get some sense of that :D

Thanx for another reaction so soon). I sub'd previously on your first reaction to Band Maid; I've been looking around and you have some interesting content. I just wanted to let you know that this band started in 2013 by Miku Kobato, the rhythm guitar player (and our favorite Pigeon! 🕊). She was going to make it a four-member band but found that her voice "lacked potency", so she thought to get a second vocalist which is Saiki (whom is now the lead singer for the band. They call her sensei as they trust her judgement and she has final say on many things, including vocal arrangements. As you saw, all the members are amazing. There is Akane' on drums; Misa on Bass; Kanami on lead guitar who also composes all of Band Maids' music while Miku writes the lyrics. They are amazing players, so I don't think comparing them to Baby Metal is appropriate. Also, they came together on their own as most bands do and weren't a 'project' put together by some outside agency. I like Baby Metal for who they are: three talented young women with one main vocalist that carries a lot of weight in each and every performance, while the Kami band is in a class by itself. All in all, I kinda needed to leave a comment or two. At least I hope the information I've given you here on Band Maid will be a helpful start in you getting to know them better, although I think you've probably gotten quite a bit of commentary on them by now.) 🎴
