Great comparison review Jimmy and Andrew! After my wife's Inokim Light 2 was stolen I decided to pick-up an E-Twow GT based off all my past experience with E-Twow in the past. She loves her GT and even uses my very old E-Twow Booster scooter when she wants something even lighter. We really liked the Inokim but I got tired of changing flat tires. My wife is petite so the ultra portable category is where I had to stay. She doesn't want to use my Dualtron Compact and didn't want to even try the Kaabo Mantis. There really is no comparison to the E-Twow GT if you need a very capable and ultra portable scooter. I also know it will be good for thousand upon thousands of miles just like my two other E-Twows.
Thanks for this video. I'm starting to come back down to lighter and smaller scooters from the heavy high-performance models. I like going fast also, but 25mph is a good swift speed to not slow down traffic too much. The main draw for me is I'm getting tired of wearing full protective gear every time I want to ride and the more expensive cost into the $1000's of dollars ranges for high-performance scooters has started to really stress me out. I really appreciate your wider range of scooter reviews on this channel.
Just getting into this and love these vids, but with so much new stuff coming out all the time in the world of scooters, would love to have a 2023 update if/when possible! Thanks and keep up the great work!
Hey Jimmy, I just wanted to let you know I just purchased my first ever electric scooter and went with the VSETT8 19.2AH. I put on there that I heard about this from YOUR CHANNEL.
My favorite electric scooter is the segway ninebot max g30lp which is $679.99 and it's available at costco the scooter has a range of 25 miles, it's 3 pounds lighter than the regular max, it has a app also, it has front light on the scooter and a rear light on the fender, and the scooter only weighs 39 pounds that is my favorite scooter for 2021 Jimmy Chang!
@@Juqueo1 yes the 10 inch pneumatic tires will help smooth out the road however this scooter does not have suspension so you will feel the bumps cracks and uneven surfaces on the road
From a design/ergonomic point of view, I really dislike the VSETT throttle trigger that you pull. Pulling something to go forward is counter-intuitive, and it's bad for safety reasons. With motorcycles, one of the biggest sources of accidents with beginners is the "death grip" where someone accidentally adds more throttle than they can handle, but then instinctively tighten up and grip everything tighter, including the throttle. It's even worse with a trigger throttle. Going forward via a thumb-push paddle makes more intuitive sense, and it's safer.
I'd recommend buying a used electric scooter that's really the best deal, I bought a Varla Pegasus new for $1050, and then recently just bought a Used Varla Eagle one (70 miles, brand new shape) for $950, and from my experience warranty with a lot of electric scooter companies is pretty useless so not much benefit buying new, and if you can get hydraulic brakes definitely get them, a lot less maintenance and just much easier to live it.
there's just so much to choose from if you don't care about portability but for things like going to the store, surely it has to be something like the e-twow
I just purchased a scooter in this price range (sorter) as I was considering many scooters in this review. I ended up buying one none on this list, as is slightly higher in price, The HERO X8 with 28ah battery and Nutt brakes. I was close to getting the VSETT 8 but ended up getting the Hero X8......This is a backup scooter for my Weped FS...........Great review guys
@@freshlycharged I wanted soild tires, I didn't want to have to worry about changing tires. Also had to be smallish (compared to my FS its perfect) I also wanted something that goes 50km plus speed wise. And good range, It does 50-80km depending how hard you ride it. Additionally, I've bought a few things for it from Hero US (I'm in Australia by the way) and communication for parts, questions or anything is excellent from them....(something I read before buying and it's stood up to be true)
I have been trying to get one for year and because my wife is sick and has neutropenia form of cancer of the blood and bone marrow…i have not been able to get one. Although this video is from a few years ago, it has the one thing I can't seem to find an answer on: is there a decent scooter that will fit in the trunk of a Model 3! Thank you for that.
8:20 what do you mean you can unlock the ninebox max top speed? It's freewheel is 20.5 mph, but it's real road speed is only ever like max 19mph. Anyway, the Scooter Hacking CFW is what makes the max unbeatable, would be nice to see it mentioned. I think I'd swap my max for that vsett though, if it felt as good as or better than riding a max. Also would be nice to see battery wh mentioned. vsett 8 has 750wh and max only has 550wh, huge difference. It's a shame the cables and display on the vsett look ugly af.
Leasing one right now that's over the 1k threshold, it's the orange emove cruiser in the background. A month in and I've had to have the battery replaced, it's been an expensive waste of money so far.
Interested in getting an E-Scooter to lessen my mile long commute to and from work my only concern is how reliable are these things in harsher conditions? Snow rain, mild winds etc?
I got the new segway max g2 and it should definitely be on this list! I got mine for 900 and it has a very smooth and substantial ride for that price. I really don't think there is any competition sub 1000.
I own the etwow s+ the baby brother of the GT which could be a great option for lighter riders who might be put off by the price of these. Basically same as GT minus drum brake, bit shorter and 500 watt peak motor rather than 700 and can be got for around 500 quite often! I’m in Uk and got mine for £350 new! Great scooter for quick rides, portability is legendary, I carry mine into the local shop which has the tiniest aisles it’s like carrying a briefcase! 😀 only downside is it’s not waterproof so I am an L9 fan as it’s ip65 for body, even higher ip rating for battery etc. So I’m likely to become an L9 owner for commuting in the future and my S+ for short journeys.
Q for quality on the ninebot and its lack of suspension doesn't make sense. That's not a quality issue; it's a design issue. You need a D for design rating.
Hey guys, I was sold the minute I saw the Vsett8. That green scheme and styling looks perfect. But as you guys always say, no scooter is perfect, so I ask: I'm a heavier man at 235 pounds, and was looking for a scooter with at least 1000 watts and preferably dual motor. But can this 600watt Vsett8 handle taking me up hills? I checked on their website they have a 9 and a 9+ now, and some with bigger batteries and dual motors. I want a scooter that can at least keep up with traffic at 25mph and can handle hills without slowing too much. Ideally in a package under $1500. After researching for days, I feel as if I'm no closer to making a choice, every day I discover a new scooter I haven't seen before.
Rhanks guys. Had a hard time choosing between l9 and etwow. The low maintenants and high speed of etwow is what pused me over. Though l9 does look sweet. The idea of changing flat tires is a total turn off though.
What is the best scooter in this price range and/or scooter brand for reliability. Premium cells, quality of build, longevity, fewest glitches, best customer service, and easiest to work on? How would the Mantis 8 fit into this group?
Excellent reviews guys...love the Four Step PQRS....and my fav of the bunch is the Uscooter GT SE (ETow)...love it :) super light...and it moves my big but without issue :) Cheers from the island :)
After buy a starter e-scooter that was limited to 20 mph, I quickly gave my e-scooter away and purchased a $4K e-scooter that can do 45 mph. Happy for the speed and the thrill. Looking back, I was a bit of a cheapskate in buying my 1st e-scooter and I pay for that cheapskateness.
I really enjoy your videos thanks for this video really helps me decide! too bad i need a drivers license in california to ride them. I lost mine because i have eye disease n i need a way to get around town. Lyft n uber cost too much n bus is my only option. Had a bike but ekkk i dnt enjoy riding bikes as much as escooters
This video is missing a ton of good scooters that are under $1000. Even at the posting of this video of OCT2021. And some of the scooters in the video are actually over $1000 on their official websites. IMO ninebot max is still the winner for me among those since it's the only one that has a seat option and most likely best quality. The most mods and aftermarket parts available. Custom firmware, best looking imo, not large (compare to the L9), probably the cheapest among those, etc. 0:08 No there will never be a perfect scooter for anyone unless you are able to customize everything. For instance, my perfect scooter would be based on the ninebot max, 25mph, with 10" to 11" fat non-off road solid tires. Front and rear suspensions. Front and rear drum brakes. Softer seats. Lower the ground clearance by 0.5" to 1". Less wires hanging out. Battery percentage on screen 100% of the time. Trip computer. Timer. etc. Maybe even a 3 wheel version without the kickstand.
@Jimmy Chang looking foward to my 2022 Etwow Gt sport. just preordered it and should get it in about 4 weeks. it has a more powerful sport controller that can push over 700W from the motors so top speed is now 28 mph. i saw a review in a different country that has the 2022 GT sport and he easily got it to 28.5 mph with gps. still only weights only 29 pounds. so thats about 1 mph per pound of scooter. dont know any other scooter that can even come close to that. maybe the rion can beat that but its such an expensive super niche hyper scooter. you guys should review one of them.
Jimmy I'm a big fan of you, I had a mi 365 pro and looking for a upgrade. I'm the 200lb Rider, I'm extremely satisfied with my m365pro and now looking for something light weight and with suspension since I don't have a long commute and need to take the train to work along with my scooter. I feel like the twow might be not as stable due to the size and the Price isn't low for something looking like that. Would your recommend something in between the twow and zero 8? I don't want the scooter to be weight more than 40lb. Any recommendations would be appreciated 👍
Jimmy Chang I have a Yume M11, When riding at slow speed I am hearing a lot of rattling, but I cannot pin point what is causing it. I have gone over the scooter tightening all bolts and screws several time just to make sure the screws and nuts are tight and I’m still hearing this rattle. I am reaching out to you, because your channel is the only one that I have seen that have reviewed the Yume scooter. Can you give me some tips or ideas?
I'm going to be riding up and down hills everyday with my scooter.... so I feel like I may need a dual motor as a starting point in my search. I saw an off-road e'scooter from a seller named ISINwheel, anyone ever heard of this Brand and its quality status?
First of all respect for the excellent job You do boys👍👍👍...and thanks for helping me picking the right e-scooter...I had some tiny doubts and after watching Your super quality reviews I decided to purchase Vsett8...thanks...stay safe and take care guys🙂👍
awesome video man, i’ve loved the work and effort you put into this video. I recently ordered the Kugookirin G3, I’d love to know your opinion and possible ratings for this scooter i ordered. thanks!
Segway ninebot max g30lp is way better than any of them.., bellow 1k price you should do review to go up hills and compare? I dont like lots of cables hanging, if i want fast 30 plus mph it wont be a electric scooter it will be a bicycle with larger tires it can handle the pot holes. I use to own several gas scooters Go-ped back then.
I've no idea how come Tesla=good craftsmanship coz everyone in car world knows their quality sucks. Unagi is more Tesla wise on the futuristic design and user integrity with wayyyyyy better quality.
Saying it has Tesla quality would be an insult as Tesla's are known for poor quality ("The electric carmaker has struggled with quality issues as it has scaled its production from tens of thousand cars a year to 500,000 in 2020. On social media, customers have documented numerous problems with new Teslas, including large gaps between body panels, poor paint jobs and chipped glass") You guys should know this since you have one :)
Great points. I've had my M3 for 3 years now and I love it. Yes, the company went through some growing pains, yes my car was not perfect, but it's a great product and my next car will be a Tesla for sure!
Man you both chose Vset but you haven't included IP rating in this review which is one of the most important criteria for most people. Vset has a very poor IP54 rating which means if you get caught in the rain the chances are you might loose your scooter...it is pretty ridiculous considering it's an outdoor vehicle.
Tesla does not have good build quality, just because you paid a premium price for the lowest model tesla (Model 3) does not mean it is good quality. I used to work at the tesla factory in Fremont, where the body panels are sometimes not lined properly.. but we still create the car and sell it anyway. So for you to be able to compare it to tesla quality, I don't think that is a good quality scooter. (Probability of me touching your Tesla in the factory as it was being built is about 80% chance out of 100.)
I would chose the VSETT because of the power, I'm heavy so I need the extra power just to move. Also FYI the links on your website for the E-Twow are going to the wrong product :)
Spec wise, I agree with you. However, I had a friend buy a brand new one and it came dead on arrival. After two months, Kaabo USA has still not warranted it, and that is why I didn't include it on this list.
I need a scooter that has a comfortable ride and can at least go up to 35 miles an hour it's a must to have a scooter that's faster than the average dog
Best for th 1000€ or$ is my Vsett8:)) for real when I bot heam I didn't even bother too luck what is good on the market but litle luck and good sailsman had turned mee of buying 500€ scooter and too pay litle more to bee good for feu are of riding and I'm wery hapy with scooter it is good construction not sm flexing. Spead in Cro is 25km and hee goes 39km when is full and on half batery is att 33-35kmh but that is my awerige spead. And I like it in 6month I riden araund 800km not one big problem only litle issues resolved with one stop and 5min. Fix.
There are many options for that price range that I understand why you are overwhelmed. What range and top speed are you looking for? Do you have any hills around you? Does it need to be portable?
It really should be. I unfortunately had it at my vacation home and was unable to grab it for this video. The Touring is a sweet scooter backed by an amazing service from Voro.
@@freshlycharged Maybe not so much now than tp back then. Unless you're looking for a good, budget scooter with a surplus of upgrade/replacement parts online. :) But what do I know? My first scoot was a hiboy S2.
@Coocola L3 - I'm not sure you understood what I meant by "New York friendly". I meant "street legal in Rochester, NY." That means they, among other things, can't go faster than 20 mph on level ground.

I'm going to be riding up and down hills everyday with my scooter.... so I feel like I may need a dual motor as a starting point in my search. I saw an off-road e'scooter from a seller named ISINwheel, anyone ever heard of this Brand and its quality status?
Nice video! Thank you.
Can you do a simmilar video with 2000 usd scooters? :)
Cool vid
I'm debating between mototech Thor, Uber scooter 1600, or the emove cruiser Wich is probably gonna be it for the range of it idk
Dualtron mini in Uk great Escooter too
First of all respect for the excellent job You do boys👍👍👍...and thanks for helping me picking the right e-scooter...I had some tiny doubts and after watching Your super quality reviews I decided to purchase Vsett8...thanks...stay safe and take care guys🙂👍
Yo tell me how it’s going with ya😂??
How you like it buddy?
awesome video man, i’ve loved the work and effort you put into this video. I recently ordered the Kugookirin G3, I’d love to know your opinion and possible ratings for this scooter i ordered. thanks!
You should get yourself an nta helmet for your Kugookirin, like xnito or bern hudson. Most helmets don't protect you on escooters
Any current owners of electric scooters, how much does it cost to recharge daily if i use to commute 20-25mi round trip?
Less than a dollar
@@freshlycharged much appreciated !
I would get the unagi if it was dual 500w motors, I got the e-twow instead.
How do the Zero 8 and 9 scooters stack up among this list?
I've no idea how come Tesla=good craftsmanship coz everyone in car world knows their quality sucks. Unagi is more Tesla wise on the futuristic design and user integrity with wayyyyyy better quality.
There’s a guy who coasted his scooter all the way down pikes peak and got zero charge from regen braking.
Thanks! I’ll update after I finish this ride!
The Emove Touring is only $899 I really expected to see it here
I beleive that my Kaabo Mantis 8 dual 500 watt motors is better than any of the scooters you featured at the $949 I paid for mine.
Spec wise, I agree with you. However, I had a friend buy a brand new one and it came dead on arrival. After two months, Kaabo USA has still not warranted it, and that is why I didn't include it on this list.
@@Andrew-vt4jt
That sucks! I hope I don't have any problems with mine.
Since your title mentioned a price why didn't you list or posted the price in your video. T
I need a scooter that has a comfortable ride and can at least go up to 35 miles an hour it's a must to have a scooter that's faster than the average dog
Apollo Ghost
Are any off road
Evercross HB24? Why not included?
The Evercross has a ton of features but the scooter needs a lot of improvements. My friend had the front end snap off after one ride.
Great content Jimmy! I'm deciding between the Vsett 8 vs the Kaabo Mantis 8 2x500w at $1049. Your thoughts on the Mantis 8?
Can get a 2400w for 900 45mph
The NR ls7+ in the background 😘giveit2me
Best for th 1000€ or$ is my Vsett8:)) for real when I bot heam I didn't even bother too luck what is good on the market but litle luck and good sailsman had turned mee of buying 500€ scooter and too pay litle more to bee good for feu are of riding and I'm wery hapy with scooter it is good construction not sm flexing. Spead in Cro is 25km and hee goes 39km when is full and on half batery is att 33-35kmh but that is my awerige spead. And I like it in 6month I riden araund 800km not one big problem only litle issues resolved with one stop and 5min. Fix.
how about Zero 9?
What would you guys suggest for 2000? I've been looking so much but there are sooooooooooo many option, I'm getting overwhelm.
There are many options for that price range that I understand why you are overwhelmed. What range and top speed are you looking for? Do you have any hills around you? Does it need to be portable?
Check out the new Apollo Phantom v2
how is the touring not on the list?
It really should be. I unfortunately had it at my vacation home and was unable to grab it for this video. The Touring is a sweet scooter backed by an amazing service from Voro.
6:20 Tesla has poor quality but nice design, so I hope this thing doesn’t come with “Tesla quality”
Cant find e2w anywhere
I just bought a scooter in UK 2400w 45mph 35 miles range 18ah 900.00 pounds it cost me those scooters are really expensive
How much total do you think you've spent on scooters?
Xiaomi m365 is base scooter for the Segway. If that Segway is the honda civic, the xiaomi would be the Honda Accord.
The Xiaomi is a classic! Would you recommend it for 2021/2022?
@@freshlycharged Maybe not so much now than tp back then. Unless you're looking for a good, budget scooter with a surplus of upgrade/replacement parts online. :)
But what do I know? My first scoot was a hiboy S2.
How the F is 32 miles range 4 stars?
I think the law in NY is that a scooter can't go faster than 20 mph. Are these available in NY friendly models?
@Coocola L3 - I'm not sure you understood what I meant by "New York friendly". I meant "street legal in Rochester, NY." That means they, among other things, can't go faster than 20 mph on level ground.
Drag race!
Need a new update for this year
