The talent that this band has is off the charts.
That Sax, man. That harmonica. Everything. The very BEST part is, they're super awkward and don't even realize how truly incredible they are. They're just jamming from the soul man.
@@TheRealDeanEstes their live performances have gotten a lot cleaner imo. Saw them 2015, 2017 and 2018, each show was better than the last. They're really coming into their element now.
Así es ,esta banda es una de las mejores de estos últimos tiempos!!🤘🏻
@@Sunrock92 tu lo haz dicho.
@@Fireballfree me too! Did somebody say rock and roll will never die?! Hey hey my my! These guys today, this band today will be classic rock! I can never express enough how much I love them!
And each and every time I see them live, as I just did at MSG NYC, I am mesmerized and love them more!
I'm just here in December 2021 enjoying this
This is the most played video on my UA-cam in 2022. Thank you for this energy!
An Ocean and Under the Pressure are played to perfection. The guitar tones, the solos, everything is magically spot on.
Daniel, 100% agree...no other rendition is as good...
Daniel S : Check out War On Drugs Austin City Limits 'Red Eyes'...the best version of that song...
@@dannoah1002 Superb. Always been my favourite and the crowd were rightly cooking 🥘
How good is that Eyes To the Wind!?!?!? The sax, man!! THE SAX!!!!!! Best band from the last 20 years, easy. And this is coming from a massive Springsteen fan. They got Bruce, Dylan, Petty, Neil Young all rolled into one, with a sprinkle of Dire Straits to boot. What. A. Band!!
This performance is insane and such a delight!
Eyes to the Wind hits me in the soul every single fucking time I hear it. I absolutely adore this band.
It gets me too, gives me chills every time. When I watched them live June 21, 2015, I literally had tears during that song. It moves me like not many songs do.

🫵🤘🤙
What a set, too. Woo!
I've been following 'The War On Drugs' from the beginning knowing they were going to be Great! 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🇲🇽
Bottle of Vodka and an ounce of grass siiting here, blasting this concert ou on my home hi-fi. Fucking amazing band.
Amen brother
11:36 Charlie playing with the traditional grip like a jazz or fusion drummer. Shows he is a versatile drummer of a phenomenally talented band of multi-instrumentalists, who can rock out.
I believe Charlie used to play with a jazz band before he lived in Philly.
We are so lucky we have The War on Drugs. And I love the intermittent woos! Go band! xx
Love the woos too. Adam must have gotten that from Ric Flair. Only kidding. Still a great band.
Excellent groupe!!
One of the best bands To lift your spirit without drugs fantastic musicians 💫🔥🙌
Love this band. Saw them live at London O2 in 2023….. Brilliant.
This version of buenos aires beach is absolutely beautiful, thank you for sharing!
Best version I've personally ever heard of In Reverse. At around 45 min
I saw this incredible band yesterday in Prague. What a great show it was! Greetings!
youngstown ohio! pizza joes! In Tennessee, now that's a fan..wish I knew that fan because no one hear seems to know this AMAZING group and there music.
the marriage and the magic ! love these guys !
depuis 1 an impossible d'écouter autre chose, tout me paraît nul à côté des War On Drugs!
I so dig this amazing band ., Adam is the east coast guy I wish I could have met while I was in Jersey . I'm so hoping you all get out to California I'll be sure to make my delicious snowball cookies and paint you all a rock . Love your style of music . God Bless much love from California , Susan
I can't get enough of 41:34, ridiculous amounts of energy from Adam
God, you're so right ! What a beautiful thing - I love it too
epic
Fantastic
En dos palabras : TREMENDA BANDA.
Nothing to see here, just a band playing their hearts out. ❤️
Es increible lo talentosa que es esta banda, TWOD actualmente es una de mis bandas favoritas, ojala muchas mas personas pudieran apreciar lo hermoso que tocan.
Wow. They are marvellous
The saxophone in Red Eyes is a nice addition to the live performance. Digging all horn parts.
missing that harmonica in "Arms Like Boulders" though
Thanks for posting, pure magic.
You can always count on Bonnaroo to come up with some hidden gems. Thanks again and again.
David, this band won a Grammy for their album in 2018 and had been putting out great music for a decade prior. Bonnaroo didn’t come up with anything here….
thank you thank you 4 all u do
An Ocean in Between the Waves always sounds so good...love the solo. 👍🏼
This is just modern Dylan, it's Fkn brilliant..
Love their music so much!!! I wish someday they come to South America !
thanks for the post.
Espero algun dia vengan a latinoamerica es mi grupo favorito....
This is a really fantastic performance worthy of a much more enthusiastic response! I think they won them over though, even though the applause was SO shortlived! Must be so hard sometimes
Yea the crowd is like a bunch of zombies
@@dougzarti think they're just overwhelmed because the performance was great. Did you notice that silence after the first or second song? They wanted more
This guy speaks to my soul.
Totally love this.
this band is incredible! wow! witnessed them live in toronto a week ago for the "a deeper understanding tour - 2017". just wow............wow
J adore ce groupe.
Much appreciated Bram!!... I could say so much!!!.. but wont.. thank you so much for this post... and they are brilliant.............. f'n brilliant... i discovered 'Lost in the dream' a way back there... note taken... better to get on it late than never :)
Este concerto ao vivo é apaixonante. "Under the pressure" está fenomenal.. Muito obrigado🇵🇹
Is that a Dominican flag? My wife is from there.we also like more than just meragna, and bachatta
É vero!.
@@matthewtobin8 That's the Portuguese flag
I can't believe I was watching fucking G-Eazy at the other tent when this happened... before these guys became my fave band
silly goose.
G-eazy still cool tho

thanks the war on drugs for showing that rock still breathes..
What a great band
Always 👌 BEST
War on Bonnaroo!! Classic set ... :O
Ahhhhhhhhhhsheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. So good.
11:30 when that bass kicks in Ocean Between the waves... woah
mola mucho esta peña.
Arms Like Boulders has that Garth Hudson organ sound! Love it!!!
Love that version of In Reverse; gotta love 48:07-48:28. Though the acoustic version that they seem to be performing for the past few years is wonderful, this version has that raw edge that I love. All of the Lost in the Dream stuff has that rawness.
In Reverse is fucking sublime
Adam has the Hendrix Woodstock strap and matching Olympic White Strat.. nice
under the pressure is very good
Waterboys - A Pagan Place...
Die ganze Truppe dolle Künstler !!!! Gefällt mir gur.
je découvre ce groupe et je pense qu-il ira très loin
on the top...
Great drummer locked in the groove no wank
Charlie Hall's the right man for the job.
the belgium best kept secret festival set is perfect. saw them at a small venue in st louis. incredible
BKS-Festival is dutch actualy
Think that should be Netherlands actually
2 guitars together is about all, this world
The little flourish Adam drops in at the end of the solo @ 14:23
These guys have some fuckin magic .....
My LORD, 41:50 in when he just SNAPS!!
stop the war on drugs and start a war on human trafficking.
war on drugs as in going to war while you're on drugs
as in "a war that uses drugs"
off the chain!
5:20 charlie getting ready to go to fucking work
dude is soaked in sweat by song 5. INCREDIBLE percussionist. Holds the beat like his dick when he pees: with purpose.
The drummer is the one!!!
Charlie Hall is playing in the pocket!
Agree
deepest purple
42:00 - 42:03 tells it all.
the best thing about this band is that energy is there to seek if you find it - - - soooo many people are going to find it and fall in love too
Wooooooo!
Ace !
This is spiritual big time.
It's not that the audience was lame or it was too early in the day. It's because it was blazing 96* HOT and humid. I was there :)
Same. I had to tell my dad the same thing as he watched from home while I was there.
But, in all fairness, you can't expect to keep the crowd's attention for more than a few minutes at a concert like this. And in those minutes you have to wake them up. Meaning: LOUD, FAST, & LOUDER! Then faster, louder, and more faster (lol). Plus, engaging them is key, as well, like Freddie Mercury w/his improvisations, sing-a-longs, & clap-a-longs ala Radio Ga Ga.
With that said, I know this is a different kind of band w/incredible skills, but a kind of mellow approach. They are super in their own way & are wicked talented. But when playing at this venue they've got to step it up, do their peppier tunes & leave the mellow for albums. IMHO, that is. Don't get me wrong, I Love these guys & wish this crowd appreciated them 1/2 as much as me! 😍😎😄😎
LOL. Imagine them playing
FREDDIEMANIAC MERCURY Yah I can't believe they didn't play Bohemian Rhapsody
I’ve been to gigs here in Oz where it’s pushing the equivalent of 110. Never seen a crowd so apathetic.
😢
Put this on a dvd please...fantastic!!!!!
i am a red eye war on drugs fan hitchhiking a road
Lame audience is right. I saw them June 21, 2015, last show of the spring tour. Railed it !!!
This one is good, but their Coachella set is hard to beat!
Also have the Coachella gig, tried to upload it but it wasn't allowed. The setting and atmosphere at the Coachella gig is superiour but musically I prefer this one to all the other gigs I have from their 2015 tour.
do you think you could send me the coachella set?
Bram Lempers tysvm man for the amazing WOD live sets you uploaded. They totally deserve the acclaim they are finally being afforded imho. Thanks for helping YT'rs to appreciate their amazing talent.
Adam's got a little bit of Anton in him
depence nnode sounds great, too
14:09 An expensive keyboard falls off
Blown away by that solo I imagine
Bummer dude
35:08 awsome these guys kick ax
west berlin the stuff in london
42:01 that's real emotion
Fuck me, this band aye
west berlin in türken house 10 years, 1978-1987
I was there. Childish Gambino was on after them, and most of the crowd was waiting for that. That’s why the energy from was zilch.
The transition/beginning of Under the pressure into In Reverse is beautiful, I wanna know the relevance of Adam's rug he has on stage though :) x
The rug is his magic carpet, you'll rarely see him playing a gig without it. I think in another video (guitar magazine rig rundown) he explains he used to work for a seller of fine rugs. He must have developed an appreciation for them.
It's a family connection, apparently.

The War on Rugs;-)
So good!!
great recording but the Down the Rabbit Hole is my best... 30minutes longer and better setlist for me
Every time I think I’m reaching an ‘acceptable’ level of guitar playing, it’s handy to witness something like this to remind me that there’s no hope in this fruitless existence.
The 'fuck' at 1:30 is amazing. Only a real musician who's doing his music with all his heart could be this angry.
So good. I'm trying to figure out what it's over. I think he's yelling "Vox" to foh after that.
is it the keyboard he's angry about?
I'd say he has no fold back, ie; he can't hear himself singing. And the guy isn't turning up quick enough, so he's getting pissed off.
Wow, he's so fucking angry at the sound guy...
