It seems everyone who gets their car built by jps is almost always happy with the results. I might get one as a unique daily driver with the Subaru engine in it.
I recently ordered one from John at JPS. Ordered it in August 2021. Just called John and it will be going to the paint shop tomorrow. It will have the Mazda engine as well. Hope it will be done this year sometime.
Dont. They are slapped together with no real thought or real hardware and proper seals. We had to rebuild one we bought. Even had to add proper engine mounts. Look up their reviews.
These are usually too light in the front end and get floaty a speed. How is the coupe? We had to literally add weight in the trunk to make it better on a speedster built by another co.
Yes it is very light in the front end. but nothing crazy...also it doesn't help that the air flow through the radiator is almost vertical, so the air flow is pushing up on the front end
thanks, for a very light car, I think it has more power than I will ever need..but i recently got a ride in a 300hp suby speedster turbo..acceleration was unbelievable...it was AMAZING. Probably go turbo if I had to do it over.
@@anlenke for me, The summers are really hot and I wanted to be able to drive the car without feeling like I'm in a blast furnace. The speedster do have A.C. but I don't like how the speedster looks with the top up....and I just love the body lines of the coupe. So the coupe was the only way for me.
A Wilson agree with you on the speedster top. I’m in Northern California and really like the rarity and look of the coupe. Looking at JPS, IM, and a couple others, but like the appeal of the 230 HP, etc. will likely go for an outlaw. Saw your other vid with drivetrain noise - you still happy with the car?
Horrific driving style one hand over the top of the wheel and other hand constantly on the shifter. In an emergency this a very poor place to start from. Stay safe. "subaru engine" in the title will also get your video more hits if people are searching.
I have put 5k of pure joy milage on mine. It rides and drives better than my much newer sports cars and I look forward to every chance I get to drive it. I have not experienced anything to support your comment.

How does the body/ seals hold up against rain or washing? Is it watertight? Can it be driven in rain without water logging the engine?

Awesome ...
Great looking car. Plenty of power?

What's the engine powering the car.sounds really good👍
Subaru EJ25, 4 cam
@@awilson9530 awesome! I bet she has a bit of get up and go then👍I suppose around 200 hp?
230hp
Nice!
Aaron how many niles did the car have at this point?
Probably less than 500
How is the suspension and handling? Is it pretty rough?
actually it handles like it's on rails. it's pretty amazing. the ride is really really smooth for as low as it is. video shows how smooth it is.
Do you still have this car?
Of course...
@@awilson9530 Jealous! Looking to buy one myself. Enjoy it!
Is this the vibration you were talking about when you are in 3rd?
it would do it in every gear, between a certain rpm of the motor.
How was your experience with JPS? I'm considering having him build me a car and would love to get your advice. Thanks.
speedster or coupe?
A Wilson coupe I think
@@awilson9530 I'm looking at both coupe and convertible and would value your feedback too

You have a terrible habit of holding your hand on the shifter while driving. No good driver ever does that.
I agree...it's because the shifter rattling was driving me crazy.
@@awilson9530 Check out Porsche shifters Wevo I think. They look tough!
@@waveman2952 I just upgraded to Vintage speed' s new 356 shifter with porsche nylon bushings setup...amazing, silky smooth and very quiet!
You have a terrible habit of not minding your own business. No useful human has that habit.

Thanks for the input.....the goal is to enjoy the car no matter how you choose to drive it.
These cars are built horribly.
