Honestly think this is one of, if not the best intro to a game I've ever played. Still haunts me to this day years and years after it was released and I frequently go back to see it time and time again. Ageless and brilliant.
Yes, it's very well written, drawn and told. Amother one I llike is the intro to Fallout Tactics. The second half of it is similar in style to this one.

to be specific, this one feels like an exposition dump too long while the second one is more vague and mysterious though grabbing you by the balls right away.
This, along with Lands of Lore 3 and Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, are such cornerstones of my childhood and gaming history. Games like this inspired me to be a DM today.

Playing this for the first time in 2024 on my Xbox Series X. So far it's good. I'm at the very beginning and just met Arundel. I'm about to get to the part where we assault some caves which he told me he needed help in. I finished Baulder's Gate 1 and 2 as well as Throne of Bhaal back in Feburary of 2024. It took me 6 months. As a child I spent it playing Civ II ,Civ III, Railroad Tycoon, on my computer as well as Medal of Honor. I think back then CRPG's were too complicated for a 10 year old to really get into at least for me.
I remembered being introduced to these games, they were the first PC games I ever played, they will always hold a special place in my heart
I never knew the narrator was the actor in MASH as Major Winchester.
