I’m Taiwanese and it shocks me how popular boba is now. I drank boba a lot as a kid in Taiwan but when I moved to the US, there were no stores whatsoever. Suddenly there was an explosion of boba stores! I’m so glad that Taiwanese food is making it all over the world though I have to say it’s quite overpriced. Boba I buy in Taiwan is around $1 to $2 and has way better flavor
Taiwan numba won!!!! I'm impressed by how the clip covers the "Q" and 波霸. You can also customize how much icecube and sugar go into your drink, talking about decidophobia lol. It was popular among hospital personnel as a replacement for meal when too busy and need some carbs boost.
thats what I thought..until I tried it, asian desserts are different from north americana and I would say better once you get to know them. Once you have tried things like mochi and red beans snacks etc you would see how boba is so well liked and popular
I almost choked on boba pearls a few times a way i tend to drink it is is would put my toige over the straw so that way only the tea gets in my mouth and the boba doesnt till i takes tounge off to eat it, was quite helpful
I live ina. fairly big city been having boba since about 2015 it got really popular in the last 5 years but before that it wasn't like some underground drink

That's a really weird thing to say. Of course Americans were slow to even acknowledge that this drink existed, considering it's an Asian drink. Why would Americans magically know about boba tea until recently. Foreign foods don't catch fire til it eventually trends years later.
Most places you can ask less sugar. The places (Aussie) I go my order is fruit black or green tea, less ice, less sugar and popping boba. The tapioca pearls sit too heavy in my stomach
@@SMRCEC Yeah I do the same thing because I'm a type one diabetic and it's just horrible for my blood sugar! But if I'm having a low day then I will have like half of my Caramel chocolate frappe with out the boba. My favorite drink though is the Pineapple, Peach, and Mango smoothie with strawberry & kiwi popping boba 😋 best drink ever! I usually drink half and put it in my freezer for the next day because of the sugar content and carbohydrates 😭

@@user-me1mv4vy9q I’ve tried it, a few times. My favorite spot to hit on my way to work is an Asian juice bar with many varieties of bubble tea. Can’t get past the texture… I really wanted to like it too. It’s the latest crave.

Welcome to the land of the greed. Where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
Of course it probably taste better. USA puts a lot of poison in the foods.
Oh I was expecting the "truth" to be that the bubbles are made from unicorn fats or something, but I guess not lol
😀😀😀😀😀 love it!

I just love the classic milk tea! 🧋❤🧋❤️🧋❤️🧋❤️🧋❤️🧋❤️🧋
BBT is also Craze in Singapore for decades too. The tapioca is called Pearls! My favorite BBT is the Brown Sugar with Pearls. 😋🤤
Brown sugar with tapioca pearls is one of my faves too. I also love coconut milk tea with coconut jelly and tapioca pearls.
@@bloodtypena the taste of Brown Sugar liquids taste down yr throat. 😋🤤
In the Bay Area, we don’t refer to this drink as bubble tea, we call it Boba Tea.
We call it bo tea because that’s the local boba shop
I don't get the appeal of it. What's the point of the tapioca? I just don't get it.

No one calls it bubble tea. It's just boba tea!
Australia it’s both
Me and people I know call it bubble tea
It’s both, but I think Boba tea is like tapioca pearls while bubble tea is usually popping pearls? I don’t know lol-
@@DemonFox369 People I know and I* Unless you do talk like a caveman. "Me call it that!"
Lots of people call it bubble tea..TRUST ME

So? Nothing wrong with indulging now and again.
Here they call it Bobbo tea
Haven't tried it yet.......I'll wait til it get warmer.......hate drinking cold drinks in the cold weather......Sigh!

I like the Taiwan Classic boba tea in the can
I have been hearing about this from my 9 year old niece I had no idea what she was talking about but it actually looks pretty good!
One of my fav Chinese drinks. Though it's very unhealthy. It's loaded with sugar 🥲
It’s not chinese
It’s from Taiwan 🇹🇼 not China! 🤦♂️

Too fucking expensive here!
What’s everyone’s favorite flavor?
Say no to straws. Also americans stop eating jello years ago that's why they don't like that squish
Not only is generalization stupid, yours is just plain wrong. And America is made up of two continents.
My fave places are Xing Fu and Yi Fang
Make your own tapioca pearls.
It was seep dodo
It not good
As a Millennial and a tea/coffee lover. This drink isn't anything special. The chocolate bubble tea taste like chocolate milk with gummy bears in it.
Don't really know anyone who has bought any for about 10 years now. It's not that popular.
For asians it is...
My town would beg to differ. There's nearly 4-5 shops on every corner.
Really? Where I live there's a new boba place every few blocks or so but it might be since I live in the bay area.
It’s in Fortnite now as a backbling for your character! So it’s deff popular. You just have no “cool” friends lol
😋😋😋😋😋😋
Tapioca plant is from South East Asia. Boba tea is high carb and sugar drink. It helps to get fat?
@Sarah Rose
I know. Coke is just as bad. 😨
The plant is originally from South America!
'Real Fruit' is the best Bubble Tea place, hands down! 💕💕💕💕💕
Nah, the place in the mall with the rude Lebanese owner
Never heard of it. And truly don't care to try it. Just my $0.02

Fun fact: most shops allow you to opt out of getting the pearls and you can also choose a different topping.
Thanks... but NO THANKS
I would rather stick pins in my eyes. I was tortured as a child with tapioca, it's the stuff of nighmares.

Bruh who tf says “Bubble Tea”?
“Bubble Tea” was the generic term for the drink and boba was one item of it initially but somehow caught up.
Aussies

Gross!
Damn America calling it bubble tea can’t just call it boba tea like the rest of the world.
Australia calls it both.
Boba tea is more if it’s tapioca balls here
Is it really? I say both depending on the situation.
