    Welcome Exiles! The time has come for a full fledged endgame guide series on The Atlas, as I did for the base Game in my Beginner’s Guide series. This series is planned to span over numerous videos, with each one building on previous ones as stated in their introductions. With this style, I hope to be able to modularly add more guides to this series as time goes on.
    In this guide we are just going to be discussing the basics of The Atlas’s Mechanics, such as how maps drop, locked and unlocked maps, atlas bonus completion and how to get through your first maps.

    At 8:40, the only Unique Bosses that can drop +2 Tier Maps are Map Bosses (Not League Bosses such as Beyond Bosses)

    Fantastic vid! Just one question, what is this build you're using in the vid?

  • @konceptum1
    @konceptum1 5 років тому +5

    Upfront apologies if this is a stupid question, but I just never see it addressed anywhere. Do all the rules about unlocked maps still apply if the unlocked map is a lower tier? For example, running a tier 5 map with an locked connected tier 4 map, the tier 4 map would have a x8 drop bonus?
    Another question: I understand that the tier of map is chosen first, then an appropriate map within that tier, but do all map tiers have an equally likely chance of being chosen? Or is there a weighting to how the map tiers are chosen? In other words, is it the case that a normal monster in a tier 4 map would have chances of 25/25/25/25 to choose between a tier 1/2/3/4 map?

    • @EngineeringEternity
      @EngineeringEternity  5 років тому +1

      1. Yes, that applies to any map regardless of the tier to the current one.
      2. I am not sure of the numbers and maybe Karv knows, but I believe there is a higher weighting on lower tiers.

    This guide is pure gold.
    The Atlas was the reason why I quit the game the game for a very long time.
    Now I am feeling confident about starting again.
    Thanks

      As an absolute new player I was overwhelmed by the first look at it.
      At the same time I tried to figure out how the menagerie works and was running deeper into the delve mines.
      All at ones was simply too much for me.
      Now I do appreciate all the content and possibilities in this game.

    This is unreal how much thought is put into this. What if I just want to play and dont care? Is it viable to just do maps and call it good? Aka putting no thought process into it.

      Absolutely. Alch and Go is basically what I do every league and I see all endgame bosses.

    "She got a big booty, so I call her big booty". -2Chainz Upon initial glance, these lyrics appear to be an unintelligent embodiment of the lack of creativity that rap and hip hop music is viewed as today. However upon further investigation, one will find that, in actuality, lyrical genius 2Chainz has crafted a beautiful and deep piece of literature carefully condensed into a single 11 word sentence that perfectly describes not only the world we live in, but also life itself.

    So I watched your guides for the new acts (I hadn't played since there were only 4), and loved em. They got me through HC on my first try. But after I killed Kitava I searched for "poe epilogue guide," and these Atlas guides did not show up. I eventually found them through the description of an outdated vid from u. Anyway, maybe put epilogue in the title or key word thingies for more views.

    In Synthesis league, for the 3 to 1 Vendor recipe, Dungeon (T2) is connected to T3 maps: Barrows, Leyline, and Arid lake. So if you trade three Dungeons, you can get one of those three maps?

    holy shit man. you pack a ot of information in too short a time. even if its all comprehensive, its hardly intelligible without rewatching it several times because of yoru presentation style. you use terms after you jsut defineid them and its like, dude i dont have all this memorized liek you already. lol

  • @Daccura

    Yeyeye but could you finally explain why we do maps at all? Like is there a benefit? Should be saying that in the first video. For now I just know that maps are endgame and you somehow drop maps but what do we get for map completion?
    EDIT: After viewing your videos multiple times - tooooo much information to handle, I am really confused (like many of us), can't u just say what are the basics and not fill sooo much information we don't need at starting mapping?
    EDIT2: Found a 10min video from another user which litterly just says the basics - that was exactly what I needed, not blown up with soo much extra information (like these videos) which no new poe starter can handle.

      Endgame is to test your build against more difficult content and grind loot drops. Maps are semi-randomized zones that effectively increase in zone level (tier) increasing in difficulty and improving drops. They also exist on the Atlas which contains mechanics and bosses (shaper elder). Thus are a more free form story mode after you have completed the acts in which you can play in your own way.
      Simple answer, just put in maps to the device and run them for experience, loot and fun.

  • @6Fire1Fist9
    @6Fire1Fist9 5 років тому +1

    ok so .. can lower tier maps drop from higher tier maps? and if yes do they have to be connected? or can they drop other maps from the other sides of the atlas?
