I did not see the whole video before I commented.You did mention that it was a Jonh Deere toolbar,and did show the decals on the hitch.We still use a 1780 planter for its original purpose.I have never seen one converted into a strip till applicator. You are doing a great job with your videos,and on the Farm!

Thats a 1780 John Deere Planter frame retrofitted with Dawn Strip-Till units

Excellent video. Dawn makes some nice row units. Do you have much gps drift with having a mounted planter and a pull type striptill bar?
Thanks! :) Happy to read this! Great question! It actually works real good aslong as gps also wants to work real good! Lol. We shift our lines each year to go from corn and bean rotation, and then if I notice the line for some reason isn’t exactly where I want it I’m able to trim it or shift it in the FM1000 screen that I use :) and once that is setup each pass is pretty consistent on where it goes :) Thanks lots for watching!
Never seen one like that but a 8R 410 would look nice in front of it lol 😆 around here some guys run Kuhn or Orthman bars most are 3pt mount and Orthman are made in Nebraska

What is the analysis of the fertilizer being banded into the strip?
40-40-60 15 Sulfer and 1 zinc :) but it certainly changes! We just do strips in the spring, not the fall. Thanks for watching! :)

Right?! Ooooh it’s early yet! Lol! Hopefully I keep it under control with my sunscreen lol but definitely don’t get as tan through the cab window as I do out picking rocks everyday starting soon lol!
Is there a difference between the fertiliser that you are strip tilling into the ground and the fertiliser that you are broadcasting with the other fertiliser spreader
Hi! :) Yes, the fertilizer analysis is different per what crop we are doing, what stage it’s at, and what needs to be done and how we are applying it. What the fertilizer applied in the strip provides still yet needs the later on fertilizer applied by the spreader :) Thanks so much for asking and watching! Have a great day!
