Hi mate. Try using 'Audacity' its a free program that allows you to adjust many things with music, Tone Temp etc etc. Adjusting a few settings will get past the Copyright.
Your videos are probably the best UK driving ones so I'd be gutted if I wasn't able to watch them anymore. I used to love the old intro as well. Maybe now the Maccabees have broken up they'll stop giving a fuck and we can get it back?
That is such a shame.If you wanted to edit music so it doesn't get copyrighted you can pitch it. Audacity is free to use, i use it for music to pitch and change the tempo, haven't had a strike yet. Maybe that would be better than no music, worth a try maybe :) Will watch the videos regardless or sound or no sound.
The Content ID system that UA-cam uses to identify copyright infringement will detect music regardless of alteration in pitch, tempo, quality etc... Use royalty-free music instead.
You can use royalty free music or stock music to avoid this issue in the future. Lots of youtuber's do that to avoid getting copyright strikes.

NonCopyrightSounds.. it's one of the most subscribed music channels on UA-cam. All royalty free
on a positive note though, at least i won't have be my guest stuck in my head for the whole day whenever i watch your videos

And yet they allow full lenght movies that are sped up by 1,01% and have a slightly altered lighting.

Dude, google FREE MUSIC ARCHIVE, you'll find loads of stuff there that you can use in your videos without having the hassle!

I use youtube's copyright & royalty & etc FREE music. They have HEAPS of tunes available for downloading to include in any video.
