Miguel Indurain who won the Tour de France 5x had a 28 pulse at rest and as the doc says as long as you don’t get fainting issues……One thing to add is I have avoided any thoughts on a pacemaker both 14 years ago and again today. The heart does not pump the blood, it spins it and regulates it creating a vortex to provide the electro- magnetic for your system as a whole to work - look at the tiny capillaries and the fact the blood stops at these for nutrient exchange and then gets going again, a piezoelectric event…..do your research!

I'm 26 and heart anxiety is literally ruining my life right now. I've recently got myself a fitbit, due to feeling my pulse when i lay in my bed, and i regret it. I've never fainted and I dont feel dizzy. I was in martial arts for 10 years and i lifted weights and did cardio ocassionaly for 10 years aswell. My RHR is in the 50s, somstimes it drops to 48 at most but doesnt stay there for very long. Ever since i got this fitbit im starting to feel shortness of breath and I'm putting it on the heart rate. I had covid 3 months ago but I didnt have problem breathing back then also i checked my lung function after that and it was perfect. Anxiety is a killer. Its not the low heart beat its the anxiety that creates these stupid symtoms that appear all of sudden and fit perfectly into my own diagnosis of my heart. Thank you doctor this has taken away any anxieties I had ..7years ago I was told I needed an ablation for SVT but was really scared to go through with it until I saw your video on SVT and ablations that made my mind up and had it done that year now palpitation free ..you are an amazing doctor that cares enough to do these videos and help so many people ..thank you from my heart and me lol .
A low resting heart rate can actually mean that your are in great condition! My resting heart rate has always been in the mid-fifties. I've been told that as long as I'm asymptomatic not to worry about it. Early symptoms are things like dizziness, lightheartedness and even brief blackouts.
Thank you for your educational videos. I was diagnosed with Heart Block 1 10 years ago. However, recently was referred back to Cardiology and seemed to be showing symptoms of HB2. I suffer from extreme fatigue and have fainted at work. Allahamdullah, I am now waiting for my MRI scan as that’s the only test outstanding. Listening to your knowledge is uplifting as we don’t always get the right communication from our doctors.
Your blood pressure is on the higher side. You should see your doctor if it's constantly in that ballpark because that's a clear indication of hypertension.
I was told that it’s common to have a lower heart rate if you are healthy or very active but you should always ask your doctor to look at your overall clinical picture
Very inspiring video lesson about slow heart beat, you give us hope to be healed., Thank you Doctor, may you continue to encourage people who are distress because of their illness. May God bless you!
This has put me so much at ease. Right now my fiance is going through this. Her heart rate goes down to as low as 39. We are in the process of getting in touch with a cardiologist. Over the last 6 weeks she has gone through faint spells. She has been to the emergency room several times and each time she has been sent home with different information, low potassium, dehydration, some times with a shrug of the shoulders. Right now she is on a halter monitor. Watching your video, you have provided in the 15 minutes what none of these doctors have told us. I do respect that they are ER doctors and not trained in cardiology. They have hooked her up to monitors for several hours, the last doctor we meet a few nights ago, although I didn't like his bedside manner did give us a small piece of information. Yes she had a low heart rate, it went down to 39BPM. BUT, it never skipped a beat. I told him that what I have read says she MAY need a pace maker, he said 100% no. She does not need one. She is 46, but the strange thing is, I have even made her exercise. So like kettlebell swings, she got tired very quickly(after a few minutes), but her heart rate didn't go past 53BPM. Anyway, I am going to have her watch this video tomorrow to help put her at ease. Thank you.
Well, thank you! Since my heart attack, stent and multiple medications, my heart rate has been consistently low - as in the 40's and 50's. It is worrying, but, I'm fit and healthy so my Cardiologist has told me, all is well. I've not really believed him, until I watched this video and you've EXPLAINED why it is well. So yes, thank you!
Explained the topic that is not so well known or common in a lucid, easy to grasp style. Dos and Don'ts are stated,I.e. who needs or doesn't need treatment like youngsters is driven home. On.the whole a very educative talk worth hearing over and over again. Style of presentation is matchless.
I have graves' disease and i have a funnel chest, i am out of shape and not healthy at all, but my heartrate gets as low as 50 at night and sometimes i would take a measurement when i wake up in the middle of the night and get a reading of 40s. I don't feel dizziness when i am awake, but many time i get dizziness when i am half asleep, like if i am awake but don't get off bed immediately sometimes i would get a rush of dizziness for a second or shorter, if i straighten my head or sit straight up immediately the dizziness goes away.
I am a 2nd year nursing student and also happen to have occasional SVT episodes I am enduring a rather stressful time of my life and caught my resting rate at 57bpm, it is usually about 62bpm. I immediately began to panic thinking maybe I have sick sinus syndrome (learned about this briefly in nursing school) but this video has taken away all my worries! I am the type of person to try to figure out the why, give me the pathophysiology and the physiology in order to comfort my anxiety and you've done that perfectly in this video! Thank you so much! I also cannot wait to implement these findings in my future nursing practice ☺
I'm a retired nurse, and I know it can be scary to have symptoms that point to illnesses we learn about. I hope your schooling goes well and you're happy in your career choice. It's the hardest job in the world, rewarding, but very tough in so many ways. Best thing is to take care of yourself as best as you can and find ways to relax and be stress free.
I am also a nurse and yes it is very terrifying. Especially when you know the cases and usually self diagnose. I too am having worst anxieties. Because my heart and pulse never go down to 60 and below, before until 3 yrs ago there are episodes it goes down even to 40s makes me panic. I consulted a cardio and he did not believe me that it goes down to that and given me carvedilol. I took only 1 dose amd stop..makes me scared to think my heart would just stop😩
Thank you Dr. Gupta. You always make my day and gimme hope. My heart rate when I was dizzy was 42. I panicked like you never heard. By the the way I am a cardiac patient. The blood pressure was 102/57. I nearly phoned an ambulance. I am on carloc 6.25mg and I began to worry if that was it. But within an hour it was back to 72 etc. But still dizzy but I could walk in the house up and down to make it better😏 that's what I told myself. I sometimes have these episodes but I am just dizzy and it becomes better with time. To be honest these days hospitals SCARE me. You NEVER speak to my doctor on the phone. I am grateful for you Dr. Gupta.
Thanks so much for this enlightenment on this problem! It has caused a lot fear and anxiety for my sister on this , she developed this after getting covid . Her pulse reaches at times 44

Ever since I’ve been wearing a Garmin watch or Apple Watch for the last 2 years I’ve always had a lower heart rate with no symptoms that I can remember. Resting heart rate would average around 55bmp. When I sleep it goes to about 45-48. But since I had Covid in September 2021 I’ve been light headed and brain foggy. I’ve worn a heart monitor for 2 weeks and doctors seen no problems and said I had a healthy heart. But I still get anxiety about it. Your video has helped me calm my nerves a bit. Thank you.

I have been on a Beta Blocker for about a week and have been concerned about my low heart rate and low blood pressure. However I’m not too worried as I think the Beta Blocker does reduce anxiety . I am grateful for this reassurance until I see my cardiologist in 2 weeks.
Thank you for health tips. I’m one of those that have lower heart rate per my ECG. Big relief as I listen to your video. Thank you, thank You Doc Sanjay. Have a safe and well day.
Well doc, you really explained all I need to know about slow heart beat, I asked my doctor about it and all she said was we might put in a pacemaker, which cause my panic attacks go wild. Thank you for all the info.
Dr Gupta, thank you for the explanation on slow heart beat. I have on many occasions been informed by my physician that my pulse was very low. Recent reading 57bpm. On one occassion it went down to 47bpm. But my physician didn't see the need to take the matter further. I am hypertensive with a recent reading of 187. It gradually reduced to 162 after he kept me under observation for a period of time. I have blacked out before but an MRI at the hospital showed no damage to the head apart from the stroke I had many years ago. Recently I am getting severe pain at the calf of my legs and the upper part. Can that be caused through poor circulation? A doppler test a year ago could not find any problems with my veins.
Thank you Dr Sab.my age is 67 and my heart beat is 57 .I was somewhat worry but there is no sign you mentioned.so after listening you now I am satisfied and not to worry
would it be of any concern if after a long stressful day, coming home and relaxing had brought my heart rate down to 45 bpm? I was awake and didn't notice, for some reason I checked my pulse in the car and freaked out. I had been truly relaxed for once (normally anxious) and my radial pulse was soft so it was hard to find. generally it is more easily paliptable so I was scared something out of the ordinary was happening. I am 28, 150 lbs and 71 inches. I have been terrified just because my heart rate doesnt normally dip that low but nor am I ever that relaxed. Thank you for these videos again!
If I would ever knew this before because I had pacemaker implanted 5 years ego at age 55.The only reason was my 50 beats a minute.I wasn't tired,I had not reason whatsoever .I am not taking any pills,no history genetically I was in very good physical shape.Until this day at age 60 I cant understand why I have pacemaker
Around your age, I’m no cardiologist but as a trauma nurse, we’d wanna keep your heart working less at your age, especially during code blue, so as long as you don’t feel dizzy or feel like blacking out. You should be fine at that bpm. Some people wit anxiety have it as low as 30. Only a cardiologist can rule out any problems wit your heart. I constantly worry about my heart rate but eventually it all falls back to anxiety.
Dear Dr. Gupta...thank you so much for your video....I feel good n reassured when I hear you n how to keep my heart well n healthy...you really are a Godsend..Bless you n your Family.,.much love from India .
Hi Dr., I had 3 open heart surgeries for a heart valve replacement. I had my 3rd open heart Feb2021 at Cedar Sinai Hospital, LA. I live 14 hr flight away from CA, and just got out of the hospital here at home, and my heart rate was 49 to 55 during my admission. I also, had 2 stents and 3 strokes as well, at age 35, now 48. I am little worry, I decided to fly back to Cedar Sinai Hospital in Jan2022 plus I had loss 50 pounds since my return. I useless don't play around with the heart if I know something is wrong. Here at home we do not perform open heart surgeries and healthcare is very limited when it comes to the heart. Thanks!
A low heart rate = less strain. I'm 34, workout, not massively fit like a runner, but my resting rate is 39-45. But I know if I do any movement it goes up to 50-60 or 100 if I run upstairs etc. Then reduced quickly. Fitness it's regarded as.
Respected Doctor, Thanks for your wonderful video which I think would alleviate fear and instil confidence in numerous people and their relatives. Best regards.
My rest heart beat has always been 40 tp 42/ I got checked twice with a thread mill EKG test and told I am ok. The more fit I am ( I am a weekend exerciser) it gets down to about 39 to 40. Always been that way
Dr Gupta that was a very good message. You are just like my cardiologist always trying to educate your patients. And if we learn to ear right and exercise correctly it would elimate alot of heart problems. I am working on this. It not easy but it can be done. I did it before and l know l cam do it again. You are a blessing that's the way l think of my cardiologist of l only knew you both years ago.
Thanks for sharing all this info, doctors just don’t have time to explain all this, but you do, I am in western Canada and it is all very helpful. Thanks again

I'm so glad i found this vlog.......i am obese but have always even years before obese had average heartbeat of about 55. Question- If you have Bradycardia and work out will there be symptoms is it only when you are at rest. I am down 43 lbs but my REsting BPM keeps going down. I've done High Intensity Interval Training for the past 14 years and my resting heart rate has dropped from 70 to 55. Sometimes when I'm very relaxed it can be as low as 48. But I'm not having any circulatory problems or dizziness. I think my heart is just more efficient after years of intense interval training.
My pulse has always been low, at least the last 12 years, at 44. Never worried me, caused me no problems. I recently had emergency abdominal surgery, non cancer related, at age 76. During pre-op they discovered my pulse was 36, and a slight arrhythmia, so they panicked rather. I explained I was fit, had walked 5 miles in hilly country that morning, did not feel faint, had no blackouts, and all in all felt fit and healthy, except for the stomach pain. The op went ahead, and at a follow up some months later they discovered my pulse was now 33, and panicked further. I was rushed into a cardiology ward, and defibrillator pads stuck to my chest and back, but I still felt fine and was still doing fast 5 mile walks. Various tests, inc an echo cardiogram, later, I saw the cardiologist. "So", he said "you appear to be fit and healthy, the low pulse is causing no problems. Why is everyone panicking?" He did take me off of eye drops that included a beta blocker, but I had only been taking those a few days so were not the cause of the low pulse. As a check he is planning a week long ECG. but meanwhile I continue my 5 mile walks most days, at a fair speed. I have a brand new smart watch with a pulse monitor, which I am still getting to understand, but yesterday, when I deliberately tried to get the pulse as high as possible, it varied between 40 and 120. The message does indeed appear to be, in the absence of symptoms *"DON'T PANIC!"*
PS. Of course my blood was checked. I am a full cream butter addict - I have it thick on toast, I tried the low fat axle grease stuff - it was disgusting. I also eat full fat crème fraiche. So I was interested in what my cholesterol level was - well within the tolerance. And salt - I have never avoided salt, I rarely add it to meals, but I eat salted butter, the bread I make is well salted, and we rarely eat processed food. The results showed that I was slightly below the recommended sodium level
Very informative. I have been a life long athlete (cycling) and have had a resting pulse in the low 30’s since my 20’s. Now that I’m 70 I’m still active with a heart rate min= 30’s, max=170, midly enlarged LV and a stroke volume of 80 mL. The doctors continue to freak out and want to put a ICD in me and start me in beta blockers. So far I have no symptoms.e.g., shortness of breath and feel great. What should I be concernd about?
Yikes!!! Why would they want to put you on a beta blocker when your heart rate so low what’s your blood pressure I mean my heart rates low my blood pressure is extremely low????
My heart rate would drop to 9 beats a min at night was like this my whole life . Found out when I was 40 that my internal pacemaker wasn't working so I now have a pacemaker I have compete AV block
Doc you have relieved me so much. My son is 15 and his heart rate is between 40-45 he doesn’t have no symptoms he is just fine but I was so worried and scared. His doctor proscribed medication for him. How can I get I touch with you.
Don't know if you'll see this but I'd like to know if there is anything the matter. Im 18 and certainly not a top athlete (not even an athlete), I play water polo with my club twice a week, swim in the mornings twice a week and gym for an hour twice a week. I inherited a low heart beat from my father who has always had a rate of 40-50 bpm, even back 2 years ago when I was obese (still am overweight but only 8 more kg to go) my heart rate was between 40 and 50. I only found out this was abnormal when the school nurse told me the reading must have been wrong and I sorta moved my arm about to 'fix' the data. Does having a naturally low heart beat mean I'd adapt better to fitness training once I lose the rest of the weight?
I have "undiagnosed" transient drops in heart rate, sometimes down to 40. Just today a clinic gave me an EKG, showing a few PACs. Normal rate is 60-70, and after a few minutes the 40 rate resolves to my normal range. I'm on 50 mg Losartan. The strangest thing is these periods of bradycardia accompany palpitations (which I assume are the PACs). This has been ongoing for at least 25 years, very intermittently, but increasing. Coincidence or not, all symptoms began after contracting Valley Fever and Chicken Pox.
I am always VERY reassured when I hear his comforting words that are so intelligently spoken, with such kindness and spiritual grace.
I appreciate your words.
Me too!

Really Great video. My heart rate is 40-44 bpm and my bp is 160/95. I'm not worried because the amount of blood flow isn't super high or low.
160/95 is what you should worry about, I guess. It's too high!
Your blood pressure is on the higher side. You should see your doctor if it's constantly in that ballpark because that's a clear indication of hypertension.
Hi Dr my heart rate is 52-58 before covid I was teaching 6 aerobics classes a week. It freaks me out that it's low but you reassuring. Thank you
I was told that it’s common to have a lower heart rate if you are healthy or very active but you should always ask your doctor to look at your overall clinical picture

Thank you again, Dr Gupta!
My favorite cardiologist.
Dr. Gupta, you are truly a Godsend! Thank you so very much for the reassurance. God bless you super-abundantly always!
Thank you.
if she was exercising and her heart didn't go past 50 something that is not right you should tell them at the hospital
So yes, thank you!
very informative ! great to listen to someone so well versed in their profession
Thank you, Dr. Gupta for that enlightening explanation on slow heart rates. Thank you!
Explained the topic that is not so well known or common in a lucid, easy to grasp style. Dos and Don'ts are stated,I.e. who needs or doesn't need treatment like youngsters is driven home. On.the whole a very educative talk worth hearing over and over again. Style of presentation is matchless.
You are so amazing and have made thins all so Lear. Wish doctors would take the time to care. God bless you
I have graves' disease and i have a funnel chest, i am out of shape and not healthy at all, but my heartrate gets as low as 50 at night and sometimes i would take a measurement when i wake up in the middle of the night and get a reading of 40s. I don't feel dizziness when i am awake, but many time i get dizziness when i am half asleep, like if i am awake but don't get off bed immediately sometimes i would get a rush of dizziness for a second or shorter, if i straighten my head or sit straight up immediately the dizziness goes away.
Absolutely fantastic, easy to understand cardiac info. You’re a Godsend Sir! 🙏❤️🙏

A little bit of knowledge can be dangerous.
@@user-yt5dg8nf6y hi. Wdm?
is this myocarditis? is the thing the cause? scary
Gupta.
Hospitals are Professional murderers. Only trust them with clear diagnoses but make yourself healthy
Thanks so much for this enlightenment on this problem! It has caused a lot fear and anxiety for my sister on this , she developed this after getting covid . Her pulse reaches at times 44

My resting heart rate is 40 per minutes getting no any other problem but I suffer from anxiety issues with the of course ectopic. Fellas If you have a ectopic and structurally normal heart don’t worry. You will get tones of ectopic but there is no harm for your heart , during ectopic you may can’t catch your breath that’s normal.

Thank you.
I have this too after covid, 5 months in, lightheadedness and pounding heart at night and recent bradycardia. How are you now?

How low is your heart rate ❤️
I have gone through the comments below. It tells so much about your videos. Amazing and awesome. Great work.
You are truly god gifted person Dr.sanjay..❤️
I've been combing through your videos and am happy to have found this and others! Thanks and please keep up the informative work!

thank you so much for explaining this too me, you explain things really thoroughly simple and accurate
If I would ever knew this before because I had pacemaker implanted 5 years ego at age 55.The only reason was my 50 beats a minute.I wasn't tired,I had not reason whatsoever .I am not taking any pills,no history genetically
I was in very good physical shape.Until this day at age 60 I cant understand why I have pacemaker
@@Vrveonline wait anxiety can do this?? Please message back

Thanks!

Does having a naturally low heart beat mean I'd adapt better to fitness training once I lose the rest of the weight?
it is not abnormal if you have no issues.

it is useful.one of my relative heart beat is 30.to 40 Doctor told Her needs pacemaker. She had block.
