I counted 152 cars on the first train minus the two diesels and 123 cars minus the diesels on the second train. Now this is my kind of railroading for sure. Just love long, long trains.
Aw cool! When were you down there? I've Railfan down there a lot, they have to go 50 - 60 thru there because going SB there is a HUGE hill that they have to climb, that's why they go so fast thru there
Wow! That is rail economy! I dunno how long it takes to uncouple and sort the train at journeys end but it is really impressive that US still moves so much produce by rail!
Some of the trains my buddy runs are 4kms in length or 13,000ft. Canadian and American trains (and some Australian) are really long, and transfer a lot of cargo.
@@McWrisk I'm in UK and 60 years ago used to se long coal trains in my town but in recent years no cargo goes by rail in my area apart from trains bringing American wood pellets to power station. Lot of wheat and barley grown locally but it all seems to be moved by truck as Gov't shut all side rail lines back in 60-70s.
@@rosewhite--- as much as I love freight rail I would much rather have passenger rail. And the UK definitely does that better then anywhere in North America. At least I can use passenger rail.
a bicycle should be standard equipment on these trains so that the second man can check for a tail light. they must be over a mile, sometimes two in size.
CN has the best looking locomotives.
Medina Junction, between Larsen & Medina WI. Until the 1970's Chicago & Northwestern crossed this track North / South with the Soo Line East / West
I'm sure the Soo Line ran its time freights that fast in the steam days behind a 4-8-4 between Chicago and the Twin Cities in Wisconsin.
Whose lines were these before CN got them? DSSA/Soo/CP/WC/CN?
Neenah Sub and part of the Fox River sub it was

This crossing is about 15 miles by rail from me. I live along this line
I'm from NW of Chicago and I ❤ CN and Wisconsin! BTW you possibly from near Fond du Lac or thereabouts?
I live in Wisconsin and love trains
What city? I'm in Green Bay Wisconsin
Another good spot is sturtavent Wisconsin Amtraks, empire builder, and a busy CP Track
Some very nice catches. Looks like the CN train at 7:36 has multiple cowl units.

Nice video!
so fast
2:08 Seems like a nice place to install restored vintage signals.
How many trains a day run on this line?
About 25 a day
Nooooo more than that, it's about 40 to 70 a day
talk about a lot of lumber cars on that one train. WOW
Canada provides a lot of wood
Absolutely love that unguarded crossing, where exactly in Wesconsin is this? I need to go there.
Excuse me: Wisconsin*
The reason for the unguarded crossing is that the rails are crossing a hiking, biking, horseback riding, and snowmobile trail here
It is located on CN's neenah subdivision, straight south of Medina, Wisconsin
Wow he rocketed right passed you! If a Amtrak were racing it, it would loose. :D
What part if Wisconsin are you in? I'm in South East Wisconsin
2:10 trainspottng chair?
great vid...hate to see unguarded crossings tho...
If it not CN its not a real train...Best in the world...
Oh geez!!!
My favorite 10:35
What’s the speed limit on first clip
