- In this video tutorial you will learn how to add a knit cuff to a sleeve. I show you how to sew a knitted ribbed sleeve band using a serger only. This video will help you to sew knit or jersey t-shirt with long sleeves or hoody and other clothes.

I need to shorten the sleeves on a hoodie jacket that has ribbed cuffs. This is what I needed to see. So easy. Thank you!
Thanks!! I did it. Got an seccond hand sewingmachine. Never thought it' s so much fun to learn this. I used to ask my mother for these things. But she passed away and now it" s time to do this by meselfe.

Thank you for this video - nice to refresh my memory so I'm sure to do it correctly. My friend needs his favorite sweatshirt's sleeves repaired with new cuffs.
Love this video! Thank you, no words needed 🙏🏾
Thank you
I appreciate the up close view of the sewing machine while sewing, I am going to extend sleeves of a jacket, thank you.
Thank you
Super! Very helpful. Thank you kindly!
This was a great tutorial, but I've been looking in vain for a tutorial that shows how to add the knit cuff to the inside lining of the sleeve and not at the bottom of the cuff, so that it stops cold air from going up your sleeve, but doesn't show. I'm sure I can McGuyver it, but I'm also sure that there's a "correct" way to do it and was hoping to be able to find out how it's done without looking awful, even though no one will ever see it. I've looked everywhere, but no luck. Any ideas?
Thank you, I've watched videos eg how to make a hoodie tutorial but when the person says, now attach the cuffs and then just sews them on, I'm always confused as to how, thanks for going in depth.
Making a hoodie is a bit advanced so they likely assume you already know how if you're tackling that ambitious of a sewing project. That's a flawed assumption to make, though, because a lot of people learn only what they need to know to complete each project. When I was 19 I was making my living off custom period costumes and bridal gowns, I've made everything from fully boned corsets to Elizabethan collars, but 23 years later and hell if I ever learned how to attach knitted cuffs to a hoodie.... 😅
I don't expect every DIY to teach every detail but it's a lot more helpful to at least give people resources like this video to fill in the gaps. It's intimidating to feel like you "should" already know everything, it can frustrate and overwhelm you.
My bf does it to me with computer stuff all the time... 🤓💻
Thnk u so muchh for this use ful video❤️❤️❤️
Appreciate this so so much thank you!!!
Thank
What did you set the serger at - what thread size
Is it bust open construction?
Very good. What about sewing a stretch cuffs into the sleeves of a puffa jacket?
Thanks for the idea for the video. I didn't have to do that, but I'll try.
What tool did you use to pull the overlocker thread through right at the end to secure it.
Loop Latch Hook
Hey where can I buy knitted rib material from for making custom cuffs?
White, grey and black is available at Joann’s. I need red snd royal blue and having trouble finding it in US.
JoAnn's
Can this be sewn by hand?
I’m sure you can.
hi, can this be done just using a straight stitch?
It would be possible, but better not to. When sewing with a stretch material you should always use a zigzag stitch. A zigzag stitch will stretch with the fabric, a straight stitch will break. Hope this helps :)
my thought also, but its a serger so even a straight stitch will stretch
I need to make form fitting (durable) cuffs for instrument bags (aerosol bags for woodwinds) what material should I look for a cuff? Trying to determine if cheaper to make vs buying sweat wristbands. TYIA
We cannot help you with anything, decide for yourself. Try what will be more efficient and then buying it.
Can we replace old to new hand stich cuffs, and extend the height of hand cuffs?
Oh sure

Where did you get elastic for sleves?
Elastic band for sleeves is sold in different widths
Can this be done with just a zip zag stitch?
Yes you can do this using zigzag stitch
Plz name the machine
Thank You, had to mute it though
Name of serger
Okay but I tore the cuff off of my hoodie and I dont have a sewing machine. How would I go about reattaching it?
Can be sewn with hand stitch
Dagnabbit . . .i found this really nifty way of making cuffs but found the joins WAY to thick when it came to sewing them on: yours is a MUCH simpler method.

Great video!, also you should be a hand model 🙂
I wish I could own a maching like yours...🥲
