Certainly the idea of a god existing isn't impossible because we don't know everything there is to know about the entire damn universe.

I found this utterly hilarious. Theism/Atheism is not the divider between smart and stupid, and if it was a divider between anything it would be irrational and rational. Most atheists used to be christian and they had personal reasons to not believe anymore. Most atheist's understand why people are christian, and that is why they challenge it. You see christianity as harmless, but when you see it from a neutral pov it ain't so harmless as people convince themselves it is. Most christians know they are more moral than the religion they follow which is why excuses and apologetics exist to protect the belief. I mean, regarding your religion those that disagree with you are gonna be tortured after they die while you are in heaven pointing and laughing cause you were right and they were wrong. Would you ever build a torture chamber in your basement and torture your children endlessly if they didn't love you? That's not a moral system, that is a very immoral system. A murderer and rapist can enter the kingdom of your god aslong as he accepts a idea as true, while a decent human being gets tortured or annihilated simply because he could not believe in something in which there was insufficient evidence for. That is not justice in any sense, yet this is exactly what is in the bible, and because christians understanding they are morally superior to their god make thousands of different little excuses to protect "Their" position by passing the blame to god.
There is a reason for the growing number of atheist's because people are realizing they are more moral than that. Christianity is nothing more than a fear based system, getting members by implanting the idea of hell into childrens heads, and then hand them a book and a idea to prevent going there. No christian would ever admit it, but they believe out of fear of not believing, and because people cannot settle with not knowing.
There could very well be a god, i don't know if there is one same as i don't know whether or not fairies exist, but my question is what methodology can christians give to demonstrate that their claim is true, instead of just labeling feelings as the power of god? What kind of messed up god would require "Faith" instead of evidence?
