This is so awesome! Here the lyrics: I tried going against my own soul's warning But in the end, something just didn't feel right Oh I tried diving even though the sky was storming I just wanted to get back to where you are If you could see through the banner of the sun Into eternity's eyes Like a vision reaching down to you Would you turn away? What if it knew you by your name? What kind of words would cut Through the clutter of the whirlwind of these days? I tried going against my own soul's warning And in the end, something just didn't feel right Oh I tried diving, even though the sky was storming Thunderheads were forming But man I thought I could fly And when I hit the ground It made a messed up sound And it kept on rattling through my days And cutting up my nights Like a goddamned knife And it got me thinking, no matter how far That I just wanted to get back to where you are I tried going against my own soul's warning But in the end, something just didn't feel right Oh I tried running from the memory and the mourning But the penalty kept on pouring And now I think I know why 'Cause when I hit the ground It made a messed up sound And it kept on rattling through my days And cutting up my nights Like a goddamned knife And it got me thinking, no matter how far I just wanted to get back to where you are
I first heard this song very recently, in a time in my life where I was trying to build a career which took me far away from my loved ones and into situations I didn't like being put into. I thought I had to stick to them for the benefit of building my career. Though I didn't enjoy my job at the time, I thought it would help me get a good position in something I did like later. And you know what? I think I was right, but it was just consuming me. I felt sad and depressed all the time. Everybody told me I looked like hell. I was feeling like down like I hadn't felt in years. It kept getting worse and worse. My soul was warning me and I tried going against it but it just felt absolutely wrong, I felt like shit. When I heard this song it instantly became a favourite because it made me sure of a decision I was already thinking about taking: there is no point in going against what I really want. Life is short and living through my own personal hell just because of a career or the security of money wasn't worth it. I was going to pursue the dreams I had even if it was harder to build a career in that than in what I was doing previously. But I always enjoyed the challenge as long as I really liked what I was doing. That's what my soul was telling me to do. This song took me out of one of the worst times of my life, and even though I still have a lot of work to do, I will forever listen to this knowing that I have a fire inside my soul that will burn till the end as long as I keep it lit.
3:02 "Ohh I tried running from the memory and the mourning, but the penalty kept on pouring" that part and instrumental always sends shivers down my spine and gives me chills.
What I think: Caution is a story about forbidden love, all of his peers and family are against the arrangement and warn him against it but he throws “caution” and pursues his heart’s desires. However he learns that his family was ultimately right and the relationship was a mistake and he tries to leave. However no matter how hard he tries to leave her and stop thinking about her, he can’t because he loves her too much even though it hurts him everytime.

Los 80's volvieron para quedarse!!!
So beautiful. 🖤🕇⛦🌹
The best music ever! I loved it
This music video editor is the unsung hero for crafting two distinct subplots from the exact same shots
I am absolutely mesmerized by this song, but what I can't really understand is this video. Can somebody enlighten me?
The music video is a sneak peak from a forthcoming short film with director Sing Lee tied to The Killers upcoming album, just as the video for "Caution".
Been listening to these guys for over 13 years... I’m glad they’re still making gems
Brilliant and back to their best, catchy 80s sound is immense
Just a fantastic song the dynamic and ooooh i love it
Best song they have released in years!! I like all their songs, but this is everything! This song deserved a good video where they appeared singing 😭
the melody/beat/or whatever it's called just makes me bring back memories from my highschool life, it's so nostalgic
The way the song and video tie in to the rest of the album, the Killer's music, and still shows so much growth and evolution ❤❤
Exactly! Can we all stop for a sec and appreciate the mature sound!

When I saw the movie Blinded by the light I understood how much I have to be grateful for the Bruce Springsteen's music. The Killers have a lot of influence from him and more in this song! I love it, sounds like the '80s!
I had the same thought when I first heard this song, very Springsteen inspired!
I am living for the ‘desolate Americana’ vibes of this album’s videos. Everything The Killers does is iconic in my eyes though.
Best voice in music , great lyrics and music...
